Got that bitch a gundam, bitches love gundams.
Just testing out the makeup and wig. Who knew gluing a front-lace wig could be such a hassle.

Stelera's Basic LED Tutorial
This is a quick tutorial for how to make a mask (or just about anything) with LEDs. It’s just kind of a basic guide to LEDs for cosplay props or accessories. This particular tutorial focuses on making rings of LEDs, but the concepts are applicable to any LED project.

Another tutorial!  This one tells you how to make articulated shoulder armor that bends with your arm.  The shoulders were probably the most difficult piece for my Tyrael cosplay, so hopefully this will make things a bit simpler for others.

Welcome to the second installment of the “Isabela Cosplay? How?!” series. Today I will be breaking down the BEASTS that are Isabela’s boots. I say beasts because these bad boys ate up the majority of the cosplay construction time. That’s ok though because once again I want to...

Tip Tuesday #119
Wear a craft apron. A pocketed full or half-apron can protect you from paint and give you pockets for the glue, scissors, pins, needle, thread, pencil and seam ripper that you keep misplacing.

Post 8/21 from the Costume Trail in Wellington. Another very reflective display case. Message me if you’d like higher resolution photos or other detail shots because I got loads of this costume and the Elf Lieutenant costume.
More costumes from the Hobbit here.

For all of my friends who cosplay …
Next time you watch a big-budget movie or tv series, I want you to look at the credits, and count the number of people involved in costuming. Costume design, tailors, seamstresses, leather-workers, agers/dyers, embroiderers, hair/wigs, make-up, metal-work, prop building, etc, etc.
Then remember that most of you do ALL OF THE ABOVE, usually solo, in cramped bedrooms and kitchens and garages – typically on shoe-string budgets, and squeezed into the hours around work and/or school.
Are you proud of yourselves yet? Because I am. I am bloody amazed at the talent & creativity & work you all put in. You’re Jacks + Jills of all trades and deserve to feel a massive sense of accomplishment for that.
