Medusa is the theme of a wonderful group show as the result of a very fruitful collaboration of @galeriedaend and Galerie Jonathan F Kugel where both galleries put together their artists to create a dialogue between their works. It was very moving to see how the wonderful spiritual works of artists like my beloved friend Satoshi Saikusa dialogued with the work of @alanmacdonaldart or the stunning glass sculpture of @markusakessonvisual that reminded me of a portrait of Camille Claudel created by Auguste Rodin. The Medusa by @smitcarolein was scary and found an echo in the work of @vivianvanblerk1 . And of course, there was a fun work by Nieto! But what moved me most is when my dear Quynh reminded me that the Medusa is actually the symbol of the gallery, chosen by Satoshi when they both created the gallery. Sometimes happiness can be just a stone throw away, like this refreshing, joyful show of @heloise_delegue on display at a must-be discovered gallery in rue de Savoie: @galeriesalonh. I will always remember the first time I met @odajaune . It was in her studio in Paris 2014 for a film on her work for @arte.tv . I was struck by the powerful paintings and drawings , her unique universe and this dreamlike, slightly disturbing world she represents in such a strong way. Her newest exhibition in @galerietemplon is absolutely stunning with wonderful new paintings, one of them measuring 10 meters! Oda has been working on this show for the last 2 years, during which, she said, she felt there was the artistic freedom to do anything. And this freedom is very present in her new work, she captures our world, the ambiguity and beauty, the ridiculousness, the kindness, the fear and the bravoury of the human kind. Anselm Kiefer is everywhere these days in Paris: a magnificent exhibition in the @le_grand_palais ephemere, an art work in the french @lepantheondeparis and the opening of a solo show at @thaddaeusropac in Pantin. There was a huge crowd today to marvel at the super sizeed paintings. I have to admit that I always feel overwhelmed by both, the magnitude, foolishness, beauty and technique of his work. I love the way he uses oil paint to texture and add layers over layers to his paintings.
