okay so if i recall correctly, this photo was taken after a lolina origins show. i recall reading the context behind this photo somewhere, tldr, from memory because i cannot recall 100%, tim and gang were going home after a show and tim, for some reason, decided to lay in the trash for this photo. i cant recall the source right now but i WILL get back to you

there's this one photo of Tim at the 2015 Edinburgh Festival Fringe and he's holding a program or something that says MECHANISMS on it, but it's super blurry and his arms are covering most of it. is there any chance you have a clearer picture of this program? i just really want to know what it says.

Hi anon! I'm not exactly sure what you're asking for. Do you want just... a synopsis of each of the album's stories? A directory of where to find extra lore for them, like the fictions and promotional materials?
In general, the Mechanisms' website and bandcamp are a great starting place to look for lore about the albums, but if you can tell us more specifically what you're looking for, we can direct you further.

Its fanon! Its just a funky design choice! I dont know which artist popularized it, but i recall seeing it sofar back as 2021, so i think its just a fun fanon character choice!

just sending an ask to say how genuinely impressive this is. if either of you ever think of going into archival research as a profession, you should put this blog on your resume because the amount of work and time put in is INSANE
this is mod travis. me n mod miralines are both librarians by trade (in school, but working towards it) (masters degree hard lots of college) so this blog is about as in character as it gets for us.

Howdy! Since I'm quite new to the fandom, I don't quite understand few things, and there's one thing that bothers me the most. What exactly is mechanisation, and how do we know what mechanisms does specific one of mechs have? Many thanks :3
Hi!
Mechanization is the process in which a person within the mechanisms universe becomes immortal in a very spesific way.
Doctor Carmilla is an immortal vampire scientist, it is generally understood that she wanted companions in her immortality, and in this she created a technology to make this possible. This technology is called Mechanization
A Mechanism is a mechanical replacement for a body part that grants the "host" immortality. The exact process of mechanization isnt well known, but my favorite theory (there is evidence) is that the mechanisms are powered by the void.
This would make sense as Doctor Carmilla is known to work with the void (ex: Doctor Carmilla & The Void Quartet), and in canon representations of the void it is shown to be rainbow, (see bifrost incident) and the mechanisms themselves shimmer rainbow when damaged (shown in the fictions)
A Mechanism relates to how a mechanism died typically, Nastya bled out, Ashes probably died of smoke inhalation, Tim burnt out his eyes, Brian froze from the outside in, etc.
We know which mechanism each mechanism has by the mechanisms website!
I had that link to the 'crew' pages, as each member has their mechanism listed on their page, save Ivy, for some reason, but her Mechanism is her brain.

Jonny: Heart. Seen in many photos of him by the golden trinket thing on his vest
Nastya: Blood of quicksilver
Ashes: Lungs
Ivy: Brain
Toy Soldier: not a mechanism, but a toy soldier
Brian: Everything but his heart
Tim: Eyes
Marius: Arm
Raphaella: Wings
Scuzz: Unknown
