i am sick to death of fourth wall breaks that are funny. i want fourth wall breaks that make me want to cry.

give me hamlet looking up during his monologue to see the audience and plead with them for help. give me orpheus, on the road back up from the underworld begging us to make sure eurydice is there, to tell him she is safe. give me orpheus turning when the audience stays silent.

give me someone, bloody and full of tears monologuing to the camera when the narrative has wound itself so tight that they can't escape it anymore.

not only is caleo completely irrelevant and unnecesarily bad ship, it is also a complete disrespect to calypso's character. i don't wanna see this annoying wanna-be teenager, utterly powerless damsel in distress. i wanna see THE calypso. the master manipulator, a sorceress who took down several gods, a titan stuck on an island for more than three millenia, filled with rage. i wanna see calypso using her full capacity, i want her to sing the most vile thing with the sweetest voice, be the charming tongue twister. i want her to go off on gods, show them that their actions will have their consequences, especially by her hand. i want her to plot her revenge and take on the gods not whatever fanfiction about her that we read.

The thing about people that baffles me the most is how we treat gods from greek and egyptian mythology and sometimes even christian. it's casually pointing out all their flaws and making memes out of them like they're just fictional characters. So many people don't even look at them as actual Gods, to be worshipped and feared. just imagine pulling that shit with Hindu mythology. If someone tweeted about Vishnu being a himbo or Narada being a sassy gay, they would most definitely turn up dead within the week
