The Twin Theory (Short Film Score)
Set in London in 2036, The Twin Theory follows DCI Gwen Hayes as she investigates the disappearance - and reappearance - of a high profile politician. The film aimed to create a commentary around the rising prominence of artificial intelligence in today’s world, and the effects this could have in the future.
Originally the soundtrack was to be aimed in the direction of Blade Runner and its pioneering electronic score. But with such soundtracks, there is always the issue of feeling like a cheap rip-off.
Instead, I moulded a melodic orchestral score around electronics and noise, to give the acoustic elements of the soundtrack a far more artificial edge. As the soundtrack wears on, the artificial elements become far stronger than the orchestral, following the flow of the story.

Intelligent Life (Short Film Score)
Intelligent Life marked my second collaboration with Writer and Director Paddy Earle. The film centres around siblings Cybil and Hammond as they try to find success in their extraterrestrial investigation business, whilst dealing with the pains of reality that growing brings.
We established early that the sound for the score needed to feel like it was from a Spielberg film, but without feeling too cliché. The result is a soundtrack that evolves from purely electronic at the start, and builds as the film goes on into a far more epic orchestral sound.

anywhere but here (Album)
Continuing the blend of Orchestral and Electronic elements of you, me the space between, anywhere but here is about struggling to find a sense of place, feeling isolated and away from the world.
I began writing music for this project whilst experimenting on sounds for my short film score for Wallpaper and in the year or so since I have created what feels like a desolate soundscape, grounding the themes above.

WALLPAPER (Short Film Score)
WALLPAPER is a Short Drama that follows Logan, a young woman who is in the depths of an investigation for a missing girl in her home town. But Logan's mind is haunted by a figure on a beach, hinting at a deeper reality, she is really searching for more than just a girl. At the end, Logan no longer recognizes what is real and what isn't and she finds herself on the beach for one last time.
From the outset, I wanted the thematic and harmonic content for WALLPAPER’s music to have a sense of building - as Logan’s visions build, the melodic theme builds piece by piece, with the harmony changing over time.
Instrumentally, WALLPAPER leans heavily towards orchestral elements, but depth is added using processed strings and synthesisers, as well as modulation effects and deep reverbs.

you, me, the space between (EP)
My soundtrack work recently has featured small string groups far more prominently than anything I have done before. The soundtracks to upcoming Web Series Hurricane and Short Film Wallpaper challenged me to experiment with more subtle blends of electronics and orchestral elements, giving more space in terms of harmony and arrangement - something I later transferred to the music in this EP.
you, me, the space between is rooted heavily in melancholic sound, something inspired by the likes of Olafur Arnalds and Johann Johannsson.

music for an ice age (album)
Amongst all the short films I’ve been doing recently, I’ve found the time to develop and write another full-length solo project.
Partly inspired by a recent visit to Iceland and some of the stylistic elements I’ve been using and adapting on my recent scores, music for an ice age is a project utilising deep manipulation and modifications to acoustic sounds to create an otherworldly sound, spanning (around) ten tracks.
music for an ice age also features the ethereal vocals of Fatma Fadel, my first collaboration with this talented singer.
Tracklisting:
Aurora, One / The Sky Was Swallowed By Light
Constellation / Endless Night
Permafrost
Distant White Figures
Aurora, Two / Borealis
The Wind Began To Sing
Tundra
The Clouds Began To Clear
Aurora, Three / And The Sky Began To Dance
Release Date: 14/04/17

Poacher (Web Series Score)
Written and directed by Nick Mortimer with his production team, the story centres around an animal activist who turns vigilante to take matters into his own hands, becoming Poacher.
Whilst this series takes elements from the superhero genre, I wanted to create a sound that was very unfamiliar for viewers of this genre. At the core of Poacher’s soundtrack are a number of punishing processed synths, adding layers to the dark narrative in the unfolding storyline.
The first episode will be available online soon.

Subject 8 (Short Film Score)
After discovering a hidden clue at the scene of his wife and daughter’s murder, Richard decides to place justice in his own hands and hunt down the men who killed his family.
The score for Subject 8 features orchestra and other processed instruments, as well as some synth elements. At its core, Subject 8 is about a man’s struggle to cope without his family and although much of the focus is on tension and action, there is a large emotional heart to the story.

SKINT (Short Film Score)
SKINT follows the aftermath of a bank robbery gone wrong. Four women try to survive in the deadliest of situations. Unsure whether they can trust each other, there's only one thing for certain: there's no honour among thieves.
Using an array of synthesisers and processed instruments, SKINT features start to finish music that ebbs and flows with the on screen action whilst never taking away from the tension on-screen.

a nocturne (EP)
Recently, I haven’t been able to stop listening to Ryuichi Sakamoto and Alva Noto's incredible score for The Revenant. Its blend of sound design and atmospheric elements, as well as its processing of orchestral instruments make it a beautiful experience. These are also elements that I love to work with myself, so it was a match-made-in-heaven moment for me.
I started working on faceless dream only a few weeks ago, with it all in mind. I liked the idea of giving the strings what seems like endless depth through multiple filters, modulations and reverbs. I’ve no idea how many tracks there will be yet, but I’ll throw out some more information soon enough!
Tracklisting:

a vision, collapsing
