Some Positives of Heartbreak High S2 + Hopes for Possible S3
The camping episode was the best-group coming together for chaotic and hilarious moments ever-the high crawl, Malakai hallucinating, Ant + tree, Darren's mocking of Rowan
Amerie's abortion-was portrayed in a way I don't think is seen often, and wasn't what I was expecting when she was late
Quinni's storyline-She had some powerful lines; I loved her owning her truth and being a bad b*tch when ignoring Darren and friends, because she was in the right.
I want to see more of Quinni's self discovery journey.
I'd like to explore more with Darren and Cash. I do think it's great to see 2 characters who are less visible in media be in a full-on relationship; I like both of those characters individually though I'd have liked to explore more in depth the context of how their relationship works, regardless of whether they stay together or not.
I like that they showed Malakai explore his bisexuality.
Malakai come home! Or at least do a time jump to show Amerie and Malakai reuniting. They're gonna be that deep-seated "what could've been" type love, I can feel it; they've been through so much now; I think they need to grow, but a lot has shaped them while they were involved with each other that I think they are gonna have a tough time moving on from it when it's all unfinished business.
It doesn't have to be a diversity tick, but can they have more queer couples? It did feel lacking in some way after last season. If they never added more queer ships outside of what we had, hypothetically it would be fine, but we've missed some pieces and development as the show's progressed (we've only heard abt some couples from the map; also what is Ant's sexuality?)
the Cash and Harper scenes; I liked that Harper didn't blame Cash, but also didn't try to make him feel better about the situation (that was a good scene).
They actually shocked me with Bird Psycho; they had me until the 2nd half of the szn, which seems uncommon now in shows so props there and the extra twist was a good one.
More parents-it felt lacking this season
Another theme-type/campy episode-they showed a few different elements with this in this season, but I'd like to see another whole focussed episode like the camping; like some wildly out there event or special day that's mandated
Wondering what will happen with school now that theirs burned to the ground...Kind of want them all split up at the beginning of the szn for like an episode-see how that changes them & doing their own thing

The bit where everyone takes Quinni to the zoo is so well done. Right from the start of that but we see how uncomfortable Quinni is, and see why she’s hurting before she says anything. Ca$h notices when her best friend doesn’t seem to.
But yeah, when they invite her to the zoo, she doesn’t seem to want to be there, at no point do they ask what she wants, they just assume she’ll appreciate it even though we know she hates plan changes. As an autistic person, I imagine she’s similar to me with things being sprung on her, so it would make sense that she’s already stressed out. Having someone else make plans for me and then do a surprise thing for my birthday would honestly freak me out no matter how well intentioned.
The whole way around it becomes obvious that they’re doing this to try and make themselves feel better, not Quinni. They say they’re going for her, but they immediately leave her behind at the entrance, running off and chatting. With every exhibit they visit, she’s always the last one to leave which represents very concisely her fear of being left behind.
She even asks at one point what she’s missed and she’s brushed off by Darren, the one person who has always been understanding. It’s not done maliciously but it’s dismissive at best.
She then later expresses her fear of being left, explaining that she hates change and feels that no one is giving her a chance to keep up, and the whole zoo trip represents that so well. It makes sense that no one sees how stressed she is because they’re all so excited about the next thing they just don’t see her.

Actually, the most realistic part of Quinni’s experience as an autistic person in s2 of Heartbreak High (for me at least) is how quick everyone is to switch up on her.
The fact that she goes from ohhhhh Quinni’s so sweet and she just wants to make everyone happy and sure she’s “a bit weird” but she makes people feel better when they’re around her to her asserting her feelings literally ONE TIME and suddenly she’s too dramatic and the world can’t play by her rules.

Why does Dusty gets away with so many things? I mean, for what I've seen the fandom completely blames Spider for what they did to JoJo, but he wasn't the only one. Ant and Dusty were in it too and the whole thing was Dusty's idea.
Then we have the threesome. Harper is blamed for it, even though she was high and also still really traumatised by what happened. In that scene we have two very vulnerable and intoxicated teenagers and one that isn't and the one that isn't is the one that initiated the whole thing! Why is everyone blaming Harper?

people saying that amerie's past w rowan came out of nowhere? did we watch the same show? they are building up to it for a lot of the season?
- we find out along sasha that malakai didn't write Forget Amerie
- then we find out after amerie hung out with him that he's bird psycho and has quinni's phone and that he has a notebook where he just writes Forget Amerie in
- the skatepark scene?? that didn't read as foreshadowing to you guys? we know he's obsessed at this point and he brings her there and then gets triggered about her talking about kids being mean to each other?
- like yeah the details of what exactly happened isn't spelled out for us before the sandart film, but they did build up to it
- i am also not surprised that amerie had been on the bully train. mainly bcs she has kept it up throughout both seasons? but most of the main characters are kinda bullies in different ways? they're all assholes
