Korkie didn't usually talk to his father about girls. Everyone knew of the great love story of the Duchess and Duke Consort of Mandalore.

"Ba'buir is awesome!" Korkie shot back, not in the least ashamed that his mother had overheard him swearing. Qui-Gon Jinn may not be his family by blood but he was the closest thing to a grandparent Korkie was going to have, at least on his father's side.
"He says that he's going to take me flying next time he visits."

The teen rolled his eyes, at the admonishment.
His father was right he would be the Duke of Mandalore one day, as his grandsire had been before him, he was the eldest of the ruling duchess' children, the position was his by birth. But it seemed like all his classmates at the academy were allowed to be normal kids, while he was held to a higher standard.
"I'm not Duke yet," Korkie mumbled.

Korkie groaned in frustration, all his life he'd heard all about how wonderful the Jedi were, how just. They were peace keepers, and when Korkie had been a child, he'd idolized The Jedi.
But now that Korkie actually needed The Jedi, they refused to help. What sort of heroes were they?
