For unknown reasons, the Vault 25 dwellers had to sacrifice one of their youth every year to keep the nuclear reactor working. Each family took turn in giving one of their child for the community.
But when it was Satori's turn to get sacrificed, she didn't accept it. Even though she spent her whole life knowing that it would be her fate, she couldn't allow herself to die this way. She wanted freedom.
The night before her sacrifice ceremony, she left the vault, opening the door for the very first time. Obliviously, this unsealing would seal the enslavement of the whole Vault 25 in raiders hands.
She walked through the desert for about an hour until a dirty, flat chested cow girl arrested her. Satori didn't stole any weapon, she though she would be the first to ever walk on the devastated land. The young woman couldn't have been more wrong...
MATHILDA : Howdy... A Vault Tech bean has spilled out it's can. We don't see much of yer kind around here. Most of you died cooking yourself bain-marie style !
SATORI : You have to help me !

Luckily, Satori survived, no monster nor raider came to hurt her. She though she would die of thirst but the woman returned with other cowboys.
MATHILDA : A Vault dweller, no scars, she has all of her teeth and fingers. She is worth some caps.
??? : You did well, DeathFucker, she'll be a perfect addition to the saloon.
For the following years, Satori served as a stripper, maid and slave in a saloon, an explosive collar around her neck. At least, she was alive and could at last discover the real world...
