I was just wondering, do you need a user to get a receipt from gofundme? I havn't been getting them for a while. Or is it enough with the screen that pops up just after donating?

the screen that pops up should be enough. If you do want a receipt you can click a receipt button on the donation page after donating, it should be emailed to you.

I asked and someone from our team did contact you, so it should be fine. We’re currently working on making a list with all of the team leads who contact the artists to prevent concerns like these.

When do you estimate artists should expect to hear from you about the commissions? (:
Originally, we were waiting for the commission form to fill up to capacity. The amount of commissions are a bit slow right now, so we wouldn’t be able to hand out a request to every artist. We have talked about possibly handing out requests early while waiting for more commissions to come, so there’s a chance some artists have been contacted or will be contacted in the coming days. (again this won’t be everybody)

Right now there’s no public way to see how much we raised. We will for sure announce the full number once the event is done.

Hiya, if we signed up as an artist but aren't on the list of collaborators should we worry about that? Or is it still being added to?
If you're not on the list of collaborators, then it's most likely that you simply didn't add an account to be shared in the carrd. That's ok since sharing an account to be added to the carrd was optional.

After filling out the commission form and an artist is selected, do donors get put in contact with the artist to discuss further details, or does the artist just start working from what was put in the commission form?
The artist would just start the commission unless there's any question they may have. In this case our orga team would act as a middle man between you and the artist.

I just wanna confirm the exchange. it says if you donate more than 30$/€/£, you can request something more complex. i donated 25£, which in aud is $50. does this count as more than the 30?
Hi there, sorry the currencies are a little confusing. The Gofundme's are all either in USD, Euro or GBP. The amount you have donated to the GFM in the GFM's currency is the amount that counts. In this case that means you have donated 25. Thanks for donating!

There’s been a bunch of questions about contact between our team, artists, and the donors. Instead of answering these separately I’d like to make a post explaining things.
Currently we’re waiting for the commission form to fill up to capacity. Once the commission form is closed is when our organization team will roll out messages towards artists. There’s ‘team leads’ who will be responsible for keeping contact and checking up on the artists. They'll inform the artist about the commissions and help with any issues that may arise. They will also be in contact with the donors for any questions.
We’re aiming to have all tier 1 commissions done in a month (starting point being when the commission form closes.) Tier 2 commissions might take longer.
So if you’re worried about contact please be patient with us and again thank you for your support.

btw i submitted a request this morning ( the gertrudeagnes one)and forgot to mention it’s tier 1!
What tier you chose is related to the amount of money you donated, so this should be fine because specifying if you donated less or more than 30 (euro’s/dollars/pounds) is a required question.

Guidelines for artists and authors
Generally for all:
make sure you stick to what has been requested
We can’t say yet how many commissions each artist will take on. We try to close commissions at double the amount of artists. So each artist will possibly take on 2 Tier 1 commissions on average.
The goal is to get at least all Tier 1 commissions done and sent within 1 month. If you notice in a month's time that you won’t be able to finish your commissions until then, that’s ok, simply let us know. Tier 2 of course takes more time anyways.
NOT allowed is using AI in any form.
ARTISTS
What is expected of me for a Tier 1 commission?
maximum either 1 full body character or two character busts
simple one-color or no background
simple or no shading, flat colors
1h-3h work time (if you are faster, great. If you take longer also no problem but it remains a Tier 1 commission.)
What is expected of me for a Tier 2 commission?
2-3 full body characters
more complex background that shows a specific scenery
full shading
2-6h work time (again depending on your personal workflow of course. Getting lost while doing art is easy, make sure not to overwork yourself.)
AUTHORS
What is expected of me for a Tier 1 commission?
about 700 to 3000 words
What is expected of me for a Tier 2 commission?
about 3000 words to 7000 words
Try to orient yourself on these guidelines. All of this will of course vary depending on your style and speed. That's totally ok.
What if I don’t want to do a commission?
If a commission you have received either:
does not adhere to the rules (is NSFW or includes characters from other fandoms)
makes you uncomfortable in any other way (you don’t have to explain why)
requests a specific artist that’s not you
Then you can contact the person from our orga team who has sent you the commission and you can receive another commission instead.
You can also contact that person if you don’t have the time for all commissions or want to leave the project altogether.

What can I commission?
You can commission The Magnus Archives fanart or fanfiction.
NOT allowed is requesting NSFW or anything that is not directly TMA (that means for example no The Mechanisms or The Magnus Protocol)
There are two tiers:
Tier 1: For a donation below 30$/€/£ you can request a small drawing or short fanfiction.
Tier 2: For a donation above 30$/€/£, you can request two Tier 1 works OR one work that is a more detailed drawing or longer fanfiction.
What does “small/regular” or “detailed” commission mean?
Keep in mind that over 400 different artists participating means 400 different styles and 400 different workflows. A “small drawing” from one artist may include more or less detail than a “small drawing” from another. Same goes for writers.
With this in mind, here are our rough guidelines:
Tier 1 drawing:
simple one-color or no background
either 1 full body character or two character busts
simple or no shading, flat colors
Here's a wondeful example by @cryptidcharlie of what detail level you may expect from a Tier 1 commission:
Tier 2 drawing:
more complex background that shows a specific scenery
2-3 full body characters
full shading
Tier 1 fanfiction:
500 to 3000 words
Tier 2 fanfiction:
3000 words to 7000
These will vary from artist to artist.
We hope that at least every Tier 1 commission will be finished and delivered within 1 month.
In the end, these are just little thank you’s for having donated. We will not be tolerating people who put up a stink about not liking the style of the art they have received. Please keep in mind that the main focus is the donation with which you have helped to save lives, the art is just a bonus.
