Momo as Gyatso
I read somewhere that one of the original plans for Momo was that he was the reincarnation of Gyatso. If I'm completely honest, this was one of the inspirations behind the fanfic A Strong Bond. I've tried to come up with ways to write Momo as Gyatso a few times, but they never feel quite right. I'm still open to it, but I think that it's best if I let it sit and see if it comes up on it's own. That might let it naturally fold itself into another story. Though I think that I could maybe write this if I were writing from Momo's POV, but it by itself... needs more...
I didn't really have a reason to bring this up except for that I realized I've never mentioned it before and it might not be that common knowledge.

See the cave with the quartz? For one of my stories I have a plan for Poppy to show up in Ba Sing Se (if you have read my Crystal Flowers story you know where this is going). This version of Poppy (unlike Crystal Flowers) had her feet bound from a young age, so NO ONE is expecting how OP she is going to be in a cave full of crystal.
The Dai Li are going down. 😏
Caves are weirder and more varied than you think

Mail Call: The Prison
This is a sneak peek at a bonus chapter of the fanfic Wayward (Book One of The Avatar's Ward), which hopefully will have a regular update schedule soon!
Ozai’s son sent him reports, but never letters. So it was infuriating that letters arrived at the prison for his brother more often than reports made it to Ozai. They never reached Iroh’s hands, of course. Sometimes Ozai perused them, but it was a galling exercise as it was becoming increasingly clear that the boy’s reticent behavior was not from the burn or the banishment, it was a result of Iroh’s imprisonment.
In a fit of rage at a letter signed ‘your loyal nephew’, Ozai seized the pile and paid his dear brother a visit.
“Your nephew has been writing to you.” Ozai forced his snarl back behind a smirk as he held out the scrolls. His brother gazed back at him stoically. Not even the prison garb could rob him of his proud posture and calculating eyes. “Don’t you want them? To see how he’s doing?” Ozai taunted, moving closer to the bars. Iroh wanted the letters. Ozai could see it in the way his eyes flicked to the scrolls. How his hands tightened beneath his sleeves. How he barely held himself back from lunging for them. “Well, if you aren’t interested.” Ozai’s fingers flexed and all of the carefully penned scrolls burst into flames.
For an instant, Iroh’s carefully cultivated mask broke. Ozai smiled in warm satisfaction as charred scraps of paper and ash sifted through his fingers. It had vanished as quickly as it appeared, but for a second Ozai caught a glimpse of the shattered man who had lost his son. The fool who tried to replace him with what was his.
“Pity.” Ozai’s grin grew. “Maybe you’ll want to read the next one.” Ozai swept away, sending ashes dancing in his wake.

omg the sneak peek!!!! omg!!!!! loyal nephew zuko!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much! I didn't want to reply until I had an update, but I hope you enjoyed the new chapter that went up. (Next one up next week.) I'm going to be trying to feeding you bits and pieces of what happened with Iroh (and some other characters) but one thing is for sure. Zuko's loyalty to Ozai has been turned to his Uncle and Ozai is not happy about it.

Kendra or Seth from Fablehaven. (I relate more to Kendra, but I act more like Seth.)
(This was hard because, um, not to be too cringey, I usually created character inserts who were friends with the main characters in my daydreams. But if I had to pick? Kendra and Seth are characters that I can relate to, who don't have too tragic a backstory and had an amazing sibling bond despite being very different... You know what, I will take Seth so my little sister can be Kendra because I refuse to do this without her and I think she would rather be Kendra. But also, she still has to know I'm actually the oldest. Yes. I will stick with this as an adult.)

Yes, I wasn't planning to post this until after I'd gotten far enough a long I could post weekly. But I really wanted to post something. I'll post the next chapter next week. Though I'm not sure if I'll be keeping up that posting schedule for this. (I am a little bit stuck on chapter 8.)

“Oh spirits.” Sokka and Katara exchanged horrified glances before looking back at the toddler.
“We need to call Zuko.” Sokka said, just on the edge of hysterical.
“He’s going to kill us.” Toph stated flatly.
“Maybe he won’t. He might like her better this way.” Katara was unconvincingly hopeful. “Right, Aang?” Aang was staring at the toddler with a soft but foreign expression on his face. “Aang?
Aang lunged forward and, in a blinding flash of light, was replaced with a beaming old man, scooping up the toddler who shrieked in joyful excitement.
“Hello Azula.” He smiled down at the giggling child. “I’m your grandpa, Roku.”

Yeah, I did wonder about the desert thing, but then it seemed like Dick had power over a lot of the natural world. Originally I planned on Tim investigating the desert because he thought Dick couldn't follow him. Now I think the middle ground. He thought he couldn't follow him there and found of that he VERY MUCH COULD as he's staring at the carving of the bat. Tim manages to explain what the bat means and what he's been investigating in the cave and when they leave, between Dick being out of his element and very distracted about his father being alive and his baby bird safe with him... that's when the assassin strikes and Tim gets stabbed. NOT what Dick was expecting and more than enough for him to rain fae fury down on the area. I'm sure he does something to Tim/Tim's spleen in the aftermath, but like I said... Tim is not escaping Dick or the Manor for QUITE A WHILE.
(Also, it might be fun if Z, Owen, and Pru were morphed into Fae type minions because Dick's fury wasn't directed at them, but he wasn't exactly being overly careful about them either.)
So, I was skimming the Fae!Dick tag, looking for Dick's reaction to Bruce's "death" and Tim's trip around the world and this happened when I found it.
(I left a bunch of these as a reply but also realized that your activity might be very overwhelming and you wouldn't see it. I don't want you to stress of that, but, like a cat, I move my present to your pillow/inbox where you are sure to see it. Hope you like it more than a mouse. Though I'm leaving off the stuff not directly related to the scene.)
Tim goes on BruceQuest without telling Fae!Dick.
Tim had known that Dick would come for him. Probably... He'd had his hands full keeping Jason and Cass in the house and Tim could be unobtrusive. He had NOT considered what it would be like to be hunted by his older brother. Benignly hunted. Nothing that could hurt him, but Tim knew the instant that Dick noticed he was gone because he could feel an unearthliness nipping at his heels. The baying of the deer. The way trees where ever he went leaned towards him, reaching for him. But he had to keep going. He couldn't let Dick catch up to him until he KNEW for SURE. Not until he had proof that Bruce was really alive. Because if he wasn't and Tim told Dick that he was... Tim had no idea what would happen. But he couldn't be responsible for breaking Dick's heart like that (his own would be enough weight to bear).
He stuck to cities and museums when he could. Places it was harder for Dick to reach him. The League of Assassins tried to join him, they wanted him for something (and to know if he was right). Tim KNEW it was a bad idea, especially for them, but they kept trying. Even though they looked more and more wary and haunted every time they met up. Tim eventually allowed them to accompany him just to protect them from Dick's eventual wrath... His final destination was the desert. If he was right, this was the final location that could prove to him, to Dick that this was real. It didn't matter that the natural beauty of the desert would allow Dick to find him. If Bruce was out there, flung back in time, Tim could show him... if not then he was wrong and he would have to come up with an excuse for why he'd run off and accept the house arrest and benign smothering and being the primary target of Dick's... 'security features' for the foreseeable future.
From there, I can't decide if Dick shows up as Tim is being stabbed or before... if it's before Dick can join Tim in the cave and Tim can show him the bat carving, kind of a pleasant emotionally satisfying moment though I'm not sure that Dick would take his time instead of just grabbing his wayward brother. If it's as he's being stabbed, it's more action packed but I don't think Tim would have even a second to tell Dick about Bruce. Everything around them would be utterly destroyed.
Also, Tim will be experiencing house arrest and benign smothering right or wrong. Yes, it's good that he worked out Bruce is alive. THAT IS NO EXCUSE FOR LEAVING DICK'S SPACE, TIM. AND YOU WILL HAVE TO SUFFER THE OVER PROTECTIVE CONSEQUENCES. (Dick might even put him in an enchanted sleep when he has to wrangle the others. Just to make sure that he doesn't go anywhere. Is that in his wheelhouse? No clue. But I have faith that Dick would find a way.)
oof yeah sorry about that. This blog has grown so much since I started it I have trouble remembering and replying to everything sometimes >.<
I love this idea! Though I think that, as a fae tied to the forest, Dick would have a hard time entering the desert. He would manage for a short while (especially for his family) but it would also drain him pretty quickly. Much like a regular human who isn't used to the harsh sun and climate.
But yeah, I totally agree it would end with Dick dragging Tim back home with SEVERAL lectures waiting to happen.
Good luck to Tim trying to leave the manor--- ever, after that. (Jk, Dick would cut back on the smothering protectiveness eventually). But for several months every turn Tim tries to take that would lead him to the outside ends with the hallways suddenly branching off back to where he started.
Jason and Cass would be entirely unsympathetic to Tim's plight. (they were also worried)

I have learned the term 'air jail' (picking up the bad pets when they are in the middle of being bad to stop them from being bad, there is a song). And I'm now constantly thinking of it as it applies to the Turtleduck GAang.
