I loved A Strange Way of Life so, so much. Every frame and every word is perfect, the design and costuming are perfect, the performances . . . . I could on and on.
The only problem is that people keep describing Silva and Jake as queer cowboys, and yet we have been denied again!
Silva owns and operates a horse ranch. Jack and Ennis were working sheep. There are no cinematic queer cowboys; there never have been!
You know what we need? More movies about queer couples and livestock. Just keep doing it until you get it right.

First carriage ride of the year 馃惗馃尲
For anyone new, Holly Mop is a rescue dog who spent the first few years of her life in a cage. When we first got her she was terrified of being outside and would become ill with stress when we tried to take her on walks. We got her a stroller to see if that would help and it became her favorite thing. Three years later she鈥檚 able to walk on leash in quiet spaces, but still loves the elevated view from her carriage.
The flowers are left over from renfaire last year:

Seeing drag queens in real life gives me the exact same feeling as how the hobbits describe elves in the lord of the rings

I am currently in the process of reading your other works on Ao3 and it only makes me think, how do you get all the ideas to make these stories? Is it a long process or is it just spontaneous ADHD fixation?
The fixation grabs me by the neck and drags me into the abyss

Back in my day all you needed to be a cannibal was a chainsaw, blackout curtains, and a dream. Not like nowadays when everyone expects you to wear a ten thousand dollar Armani suit and deliver epic monologues about the nature of humanity. We made the best damn sausage and chili in the county and that's how we liked it. It's gettin' so you can't even afford abandoned houses in an isolated back road anymore, I tell you what. We shoulda known something was up the first time they started serving people with wine. Now look at us, they gentrified cannibalism is what happened.

no DNIs we just post content specifically catered to ourselves that will coincidentally alienate anyone with whom we would not want to interact

One of my students just referred to the Allies in WWII as "the Patriots."
Don't pull this shit on me at the end of the semester, child! My sanity is hanging by a thread as it is!

Am I BAWLING my eyes out? Because all Jack Rackham wanted to do was leave a mark on history? And be remembered?? And despite years of attempting to emulate the physical toughness and swashbuckling bravery of his fellow pirate captains of legend, it was in fact his pedantic little obsession with getting the right flag art, an action so wholly and undeniably HIM, that ensured his mark on history in the end??? That it's HIS jolly Roger that has endured through time and history as the very symbol of piracy itself????????
If anyone needs me, I will be marooning MYSELF on skeleton island!!!!!!
