Skulltimate secrets redesigns ( wave 1 )

Draculaura - Decided to give her more lace and ruffles and switch the shoulder pads with bat wings.

I kept her og shoes and beret bc I loved them!! I also thought that short hair would look nice on her

Clawdeen - I actually really like her original doll. The purple/ green combo has always been Clawdeen’s signature and I’m glad that they also gave her an edgier look. However if you’ve been following me you might know how much I despise the biker shorts on MH G3 dolls ( the boots also look atrocious! ). I was inspired by Devon Aoki’s outfit in fast furious 2, giving her a more early 2000s style.

Cleo - I really, really disliked the shoulder pads and the random pink on the OG design! I was inspired by Kim Shui fashion collections and Beyonce Outfits.

She’s wearing a scarab bobbypin instead of her OG headpiece.

I completely removed the pinks from her design.

Lagoona - Lagoona is your fish next door! She’s rolling around the beach in her octopus blades 🫧

Kept her silhouette but changed her colours. I also changed her hairstyle and removed her hat bc I really disliked it.

Frankie - I’m still not sure about this redesign but I have to admit that Frankie’s design was really hard to reimagine. Their palette is kind of scattered around everywhere, with different patterns that would makes sense bc of Frankie’s character but they need to look more concise because I really don’t know where to look at.

Anyway, I wanted to give them a more biker/punk rock vibe, they are wearing leather pants and a leather jacket with leather boots. I also tried to give them a new hairstyle resembling a bolt, but I’m still not sure about it.

Monster High Scare-adis redesigns!!

LAGOONA: as usual, I made her skintone a cooler shade of pink so that it would blend well with her legs. I tried to go for a more tropical-sunset look, and her streaks are a nod to that. Overall the thing that bothered me in her OG design was her swimsuit, but the rope was cute so I kept it.

A cute doll overall.

CLAWDEEN: I’ll start by saying that they did my girl so wrong.

There is absolutely no harmony in the colors and the outfit.

I don’t get the vibe they were going for… And I wish they would give our girl braids!!!

There’s so much stuff that overwhelms the eyes.

So, I gave her a swimsuit with the colour palette of the original shirt while also maintaining her sporty look by giving her sneakers and knee-socks.

I kept her tennis hat + the sunglasses combo and gave her braids and a high ponytail!

FRANKIE: I was inspired by Tyler, The Creator’s outfits.

Adjusted their color palette and made it more balanced.

And gave them big shoes bc I feel like they would like to be comfortable especially if they’re playing beach volley! :^)

DRACULAURA: I think that her og doll is pretty cute. Her colour palette is pretty balanced.

However I wanted to give my own spin to her design, by adding ruffles and little bats instead of cobwebs ( except for her hat ).

Monster High G3 redesigns!

Ghoulia: I wanted to change her outfit and define her colour palette. I wanted to go for a more skater/chill vibes.

I added worms because the whole brain motif was boring me. Also added more zombie features.

Catty Noir: I personally love the new Catty! I was never a fan of her og g1 design, but I still overall love the idea behind her concept ( the whole superstitious gig ). Even tho I think her G3 design is really nice, the clothes are lacking.

I was personally inspired by Ariana Grande’s earlier outfits ( mostly the ones worn in the Break Free mv ) and by Lizzo’s.

Less pink & more silver please !! 🐈‍⬛

Spectra: Her face mold and overall doll is stunning, but I’m not a fan of her outfit. Why does she have biker shorts. Also, and this is my personal issue, I really don’t like the 3D printed chains. It feels really cheap. Anyways, I was inspired by Stevie Nicks’ outfits, since she would always wear these flowy, ethereal clothes on stage, giving her a ghostly appearance. I like the fact that she wears crystals, I think it fits with the clothes I designed for her 🔮

Core + Core refresh redesigns

Clawdeen - I feel like Clawdeen doesn’t have an established fashion style and she doesn’t have a consistent color palette, it really bothered me. So I blocked out her color scheme and used more blacks: I wanted to give her an edgier look, similar to her OG design in G1, but also respecting her G3 version by keeping her bomber jacket.

Draculaura - I never liked her original outfit: I feel like there’s too much pink and not enough black, I don’t like her headband and her cloak. But most of all I despise those shorts! And also I feel like using patterned designs on the original dolls feels too cheap. I think that her core refresh is a vast improvement from her first doll, but I still wanted to change some things.

I personally dislike when dolls clothes feel plastic-y, I like touching the fabric so it really bothers me when I see so much plastic.

I decided to give her more ruffles ( a nod to her G1 doll ) and to keep the gilet but I changed the shirt underneath to incorporate more white in the design. I LOVED the hat! It reminds me so much of Lydia Deetz so I kept it.

Frankie - while their design is one of my faves in G3, I wanted to give my own spin to it. Their color palette is based on their G1 doll, I’ve always liked Frankie’s grungy look with all the tartan and the stitches. I also wanted to give them a more androgynous look, I was torn between giving them a long half skirt or not, but in the end I gave them pants. I wanted to give a more scholar, preppy look but with darker colours. I don’t personally like the pastels on Frankie.

Cleo - I feel like her og doll is cute. BUT PLEASE GIVE OUR GIRL PANTS!!! I don’t get why g3 dolls can’t wear pants ( not shorts ).

Anyways I based my design on 70s clothes, I was inspired by ABBA’s outfits in all of their shimmery glory. I also changed her palette from light blue/gold to turquoise/gold. Also, please give her bangs back.

Lagoona - okay so I’ll start by saying that G1 Lagoona was my favorite and my first ever doll so I had to get adjusted to her new design.

I’ve grown to like it, but some things keep bothering me:

Her skin-tone needs to be a cooler pink. I get that we already have Draculaura but she looks sunburnt and too human with a warm pink. It clashes with her blue legs and it’s so distracting.

I also never liked the black in her design, even in G1. But while the use of blacks in G1 was cohesive and balanced, the blacks in G3 feel so out of place. I changed her shorts and gave her an hibiscus flower instead of pearls in her hair ( a nod to her G1 doll, I always loved that detail ).

Some redesigns I did for G3’s monster ball… I really disliked their original designs so I tried to make my own

Lagoona : I feel like her original color palette clashes so much with her design. I wanted to give her more of a mermaid-y dress while also maintaining some of the hot pinks and coral designs. I feel like G3 Lagoona fits more with pastel colours because of her hair. Also she’s always been my favorite, give her some justice please ｡°(°.◜ᯅ◝°)°｡

Draculaura - Probably an unpopular opinion, but I really dislike her dress. It’s giving 80s in the worst way possible. I still wanted to keep its key elements- the ruffles and her big hair. I decided to give her more of an Elvira inspired hairstyle. I got rid of the bows because they felt too overwhelming for me. Instead I gave her lil bat wings.

Cleo De Nile - I don’t completely despise her original design, I think it’s the most decent out of them all, but I wanted to enhance her slick features with another kind of dress. Her dress is adorned by coins- a callback to coin jewellery that originated in ancient Egypt. I wanted her to have more mature, almost godly features, since she’s the ruler of Monster High.

And lastly, Clawdeen - Clawdeen has always worn a suit and I think that’s neat. However, what I DON’T like is the type of suit g3 wears. It feels like it belongs in the 80s, with the velvet like texture and the shoulder pads, it’s a big no for me. I also didn’t like that shade of purple on Clawdeen so I made it a cooler shade. I wanted to give her a more business casual style, fashionable and chic. I also gave her curls, because she’d look so pretty!!
