hi, do you happen to have any writings about gender written by transfem butches and/or transfem poc that you'd recommend?
Yes! first, I recommend checking out this post, where I recommend / crowdsource some readings on butch trans womanhood / TMA subjectivity. I also highly recommend Emi Koyama's blog/body of work, b. binaohan's numerous writings and books, and the Trans Woman Writer's Collective (founded by Jamie Berrout, a powerhouse author/editor in her own right). My friend Valerie (@grimesapologist) has an excellent pamphlet out with them!
Some transfem/trans woman/TMA (acknowledging that there is as much variation in gender among TMA people as TME people, though the former group are systemically foreclosed from gender creativity in ways TME people are, within queer and trans circles, marginally permitted) writers of color I recommend include
micha cárdenas
Meredith Talusan
Vivek Shraya
jia qing wilson-yang
Ryka Aoki
Jules Gill-Peterson
Kai Cheng Thom
Trish Salah
[I've linked to my personal favorite/most influential work by most of the listed authors]
There are some great, relevant readings in the anthology Trap Door: Trans Cultural Projection and the Politics of Visibility. Lastly, this paper, A Tranifesto For the Dolls in Transgender Studies Quarterly is something of a who's who in this cohort of junior scholars in trans/feminist of color theory. Very exciting piece based off a very exciting conference roundtable that I actually attended back in 2022!
hope this helps :)

There’s evidence that Palestinians in the mass graves (including babies, children, people in medical scrubs) were buried alive.

ARTISTS FOR PALESTINE 🇵🇸 - ROUND 3!! On the 26th April and 3rd of May, I'll be doing art requests on stream with other notable artists to raise money for Palestinian escape funds.
This round's roster is very lucky to include returning artists including webcomic artist Graveweaver (I'm The Grim Reaper), @wolfythewitch, Cuptoast, Denimcatfish and more.
If you won't be able to make it to the streams but would still like to donate money, you can find a spreadsheet with hundreds of escape funds listed here. Alternatively, you could donate to one of three funds that I am focusing a lot of my efforts on.
Donate to Anwar's family (€8,000 from escaping) Donate to Thaer’s fund (€7,000 from escaping) Donate to Salwa Al-Shandagha ($9,000 from escaping)
As always, these fundraiser streams will always be available to watch over on my twitch channel here. Hope to see some of you there!

As much as I normally do engage with bail funds because protestors getting arrested is awful, I feel like prioritizing bail funds at all these unis instead of funds for Palestinians is tone deaf. In an ideal world sure we can do both but most people who would care to donate do not have much disposable income. Protestors know they can and probably will be arrested and do it anyway because they believe in what they are protesting for. This is not the same as just being alive, minding your business, and being bombed out of your home.

i hope that the discussion about student protests does not get reduced to "privileged rich kids faffing around at an ivy league school." setting aside that tenuous claim, over the last week, protests have erupted over the entire country. a few days ago, riot police beat, pepper-sprayed, and arrested NYU faculty shielding students; protests started at the university of southern california when the admin cancelled the valedictorian's speech; encampments appeared at the university of southern carolina, UT dallas, the university of maryland, the university of new mexico, IUPUI, virginia tech, the university of virginia, the university of illinois, the university of north carolina — chapel hill, the university of pittsburgh, uc berkeley, the university of michigan — ann arbor, MIT, emerson, tufts, the university of rochester, rice, swarthmore, the new school, vanderbilt university, with students arrested; students protested or walked out at miami university, northwestern, temple, the 5 claremont colleges: pomona, pitzer, scripps, harvey mudd, and claremont mckenna, stanford, washington university in st louis, students were arrested at ohio state, students were confronted by riot police at cal poly humboldt, after which they occupied campus, students were arrested at the university of minnesota — twin cities, after which faculty walked out; and yes, there are protests at the other ivies, most notably yale, with students facing mass arests after encampments, but there is also an encampment at brown, protests appeared at cornell, princeton faculty issued a statement of solidarity while students are preparing an encampment, and harvard banned the undergraduate palestine solidarity committee. there are thousands of students who are protesting for palestine across the entire country, facing harassment, arrest, and suspension in return

TWO HOURS AGO: an incredible photo taken by a ut austin student capturing something deeply poetic in my opinion, a line of state troopers eagerly waiting to arrest student protesters standing just behind a sign that reads "what starts here changes the world. its starts with you and what you do each day."

Knitting colourwork with the wrong side out works wonders for the tension of the floats. However, many people get confused by the concept and think you have to purl instead or knit the wrong way.
But no, all you have to do is to turn the wrong side out, so that you are knitting on the inside of the circle and the floats are on the outside.
True, it is a bit annoying that you cannot admire the pattern while knitting, but you will be lavishly rewarded for this little inconvenience when you see how even your knitting looks!
Shown here is the cuff of the StripesNFlowers Mitts. Pattern available on Ravelry.

You have to recognize your capacity for harm. You cannot omit the harm you've done to others to remain "good." Anybody can be a bigot. Anyone can be an abuser. Anyone can harm anyone at any time even those who have been harmed themselves. The world is not made up of victims and villains only, this is life, not a Saturday morning cartoon and you are a human being who can or maybe even has hurt others and you HAVE to acknowledge that to learn to be better.

How Ocean Vuong could go from writing an entire book about the effects of war on his family to saying "yeah having people think my poetry is cringe is Just Like with Palestine" is so wild like. Of all people I would expect you to have the sense not to even think it's the same.

the venn diagram btwn zionist neoliberal gays who think that palestinians deserve to be bombed into oblivion bc “they’re all homophobic” and the ppl u see on twitter laughing at floridians losing their homes in hurricanes and texans freezing to death during the winter bc “that’s what they get for voting red” is most certainly a circle
