Personal review of the game thus far, considering the hype of waiting for it for a few years 

Fun aspects of Dappervolk 

- A diverse selection of games in the Playground!  - Avatar selection, so you can dress up and always look unique - Lots of pets that grant different abilities and boosts - Cute and easy-to-look-at art  - Item drops in the Playground so you’re not penalised completely for casual play  - An actually accessible and not impossibly expensive pet accessorisation system (GLARES AT FR AND THE FACT THAT YOU NEED TO SPEND RLC ON ACCENTS...)

Less fun aspects of Dappervolk 

- One of the Playground games doesn’t have a pause/quit function and when you’re grinding quests to see things through to the end, you can’t exit without sending your score and thus have to either lose deliberately or see it through... (in reference to 3′s Forest Cleanup)  - Turnip Thief is also very poorly optimised for a game you need to keep playing for the items granted (sound tags are not tied properly to the turnip items, resulting in inconsistent noises and sound effects despite them being muted, and the hitboxes for the NPCs pursuing you are also not immediately active, allowing you to “push” them without losing)  - Weirdly passive-aggressive NPCs when you turn them down, as if DV seems to forget that they’re a PG-13 site with minors playing. Some NPCs are expected to be more forward, but story wise a lot of these “goodly” NPCs shouldn’t be guilt tripping players for turning down their daily quests, which is a very bizarre choice? (examples include Irin and Trout, NPCs you should by right be helping and looking out for)   - A restriction on “town hops”, which makes it harder to play the more you progress in the story. The only way to access 1 (ONE) additional town hop is to let Adventuring loop, and as a casual player, I have not gotten it even once, which reveals how unrealistic this is.  

- Dappervolk tries way too hard to be a create-your-own-adventure type of MMO, but seems to forget it’s a petsite tbh. Beside the one-off side quests, the usual dailies are so routine, and as you snowball the amount of NPCs you have to help, it starts turning into a chore more than anything. 

Please for the love of all things holy stop fucking PMing me on other platforms to heckle me about my DV crap, I will sell when I feel like it

Why do people care that fuckin’ much about the fuss people are throwing about an actual legitimate issue. The Premium Gacha item thing is straight up lootboxes, and people are allowed to get concerned about these things because it’s basically gambling jfc. 

If you think it’s ‘an attack on staff’ just by raising distress over actual relevant issues, you’ve got a big storm coming

frankly, this is a terrible idea. at the very least make turnips tradeable or lower the price of a premium spin (it’s currently $20 for a x10 spin YIKES)

Maybe DV can break the mold of bitter, salty pet site confession blogs if we focus more on positive aspects of the community. Shout out to Pesh for being so incredibly helpful with the collecting and sharing of information! Those spreadsheets are amazing

Offering Celestial Pup diary entry

Hey guys so as I’ve mentioned in discord yesterday I’m offering the chance to get the alpha pet’s diary entry by hatching the egg. This is not a trade for the pet but for it’s entry as the only way to record a pets entry is by hatching it or bonding with the pet to it’s max affection.
