My big post of RayK's apartment got so BIG that I couldn't handle it here on Tumblr, so I put it in a new Wordpress blog! :D I guess that's kind of a sister blog to my shinventory.wordpress.com blog that's all about Starsky & Hutch, but I doubt I'll use the dS blog for anything more than this post. I hope the post works as a resource and/or inspiration post for fic or art, or is just fun to look at! I also made a Drive folder for the photos from the post. Enjoy and let's continue the @ds30below fun! (Or, I go to sleep now, lol.)
even though I prefer their platonic relationship, it is fact to me that fraser was on year 3 of a 5 year plan to wife up ray vecchio, which was cruelly interrupted by ray vecchio being sent undercover and then put on an indefinite hold by fraser meeting the love of his life
rayk having an extended meltdown in the finale bc rayv is back which means he's going to lose EVERYTHING no one wants HIM everyone wants VECCHIO and meanwhile fraser is v busy and has no idea what the hell he's upset about bc he already decided the only way ray's getting out of this relationship is in a bodybag
I'm not done talking about Call of the Wild, holy shit. I can't believe this finale has just been out there for decades and I'm only just now watching something that was clearly written for me specifically.
There's so little build up to the finale, and that's fine. A lot of shows vaguely know they're ending and wrap everything up in a few episodes. BUT.
For a show that didn't wrap up everything they sure did make Ray and Fraser the guiding force in each other's futures. Every conversation Fraser has about people's feelings for him Ray is not only present, but quite literally standing between both him and the other person. Ray realizes he doesn't have anything to go back to in Chicago and that he likes who he is with Fraser better than who he is without. Fraser stands in the middle of a snow field with only Ray by his side and declares he's home.
And the ending! The show deemed it unimportant that we know if either of them quit their jobs (which for Fraser who's job has been a calling, would be huge) to go on this adventure, but it's important to know they're together! And something about the fact that Fraser refers to Ray as Ray, and then corrects it to Stanley Kowalski hits so hard. Ray (who by all accounts does prefer to go by Ray) has been so worried about who he'll be when he's not Ray Vecchio anymore, that to have Fraser specifically call him by his distinct name when talking about how they ran away together is so tender.
And I can't get over the casual intimacy of the touch to the shoulder as Ray is getting settled in the dog sled. It lingers a bit longer than I expected it to.
Okay, that's it for now but as I consume 24 years of fanfiction I'm sure there will be more.
supernatural really was like okay so dean and cas grieve each other like widowers and repeatedly come back from the dead for each other and feel each other’s losses like a missing limb and choose to defy god for each other and coparent two children together and get divorced and go through marriage counseling and reconcile and never get other serious love interests because no one else could ever approach what they mean to each other and cas openly states that he’s in love with dean BUT as long as dean doesn’t say it back out loud in english they’re technically not a couple
remember when captain america said he wasn't dating because "it's kinda hard to find someone with shared life experience" and then later in the movie they revived his best friend and silly rabbit and right hand man and the only person that could hope to understand his specific set of circumstances and then they walked the earth together as two men out of time soul-tied by fate and loyalty and blistering unwavering devotion. and that wasnt meant to mean anything
