"The Capitol vs District 12 in real time. Hunger Games in real time with the worlds elite obsessing over vanity, materialism, wealth and fame with total disregard to Gaza genocide" from Craving Palestine, 07/May/2024:
This elderly woman was one of the leaders of demonstrations against the Vietnam War in 1968, when she was a student at Columbia University. Today, 56 years later, she returns to the same place and says, "Palestine must be free."
The thing that throws me about people who write "virgin/innocent" reader is the fact that there are ways that you can write that trope without making it seem like the reader is a child. They just often choose not to.
I grew up in a very religious area and I know people in real life - full-grown adults that also happen to speak and act like full-grown adults - who are pretty clueless about sex. They, of course, know what sex is, but they wouldn't know what they were doing for the life of them because they were never taught anything aside from "it's sinful and you will burn in the depths of Hell for seeking more info about it".
Yes, I come with copious amounts of religious trauma due to growing up around this way of thinking, but something else that I also come with is the knowledge that you can write a reader who doesn't know all that much about sex without making them into essentially a child in the body of an adult. Also, believe it or not, they can be a curious and willing participant as well. No need to include like...manipulation tactics to get them to participate🧍🏾♀️
This isn't about a particular writer, it's just a general statement. I've seen some discussion on it, and I've also just seen a lot of people who write corruption kinks/"innocent" reader content that act like they can't do that without having the reader speak and act like a 5-year-old and it's odd.
ppl mad that black and readers of color want more inclusive work. like I'm about to start putting she fluffed her TIGHT COILS and brushed against YOUR BROWN SKIN. like be so fr. yall think white is the default and that's the issue.
idk if yall notice but the media for black lesbians and black queer people is LIMITED. but ik yall don't read nothing but shitty writing so ofc you wouldn't know.
