can avatars identify each other by sight? bc when Jon is meeting other avatars, they always Immediately identify him as the Archivist, so either Jon is the most obvious Eye avatar on the planet or avatars inherently give off Vibes that other avatars pick up on, and I really hope it’s the second one because I think it would be really funny if like. a Vast avatar and a Buried avatar end up at the same construction site because one of them is planning to push someone off a crane and the other is planning to bury someone in concrete, and they just make eye contact across the construction site like

im sorry but the assistants absolutely found out jon was an orphan in the worst way possible. it’s a winter day, it’s five past nine, jon’s late. martin’s worried and tim’s convinced he’s died. suddenly he bursts in the door, sopping wet, hair limp and plastered against his face, suit absolutely sodden. sasha looks at him and starts laughing, tim goes oh gee you look like some poor little victorian orphan and jon just turns to him and goes actually i was born in the 90s so i’m only an orphan. tim not only has to handle the fact that jon is actually an orphan and he made fun of him for it (that’s a dick move right?) but jons also younger than him

something i rlly like about jons character and probably the reason why hes one of my favs is that canonically he’s shown to be not an angry or violent man at all he barely even yells at people(like twice? in the whole series?) like he’s a huge ass at the beginning of the series but not really an angry man
instead he’s a sad scared man who thinks he deserves others anger and resentment for things he cant control and even thinks he deserved the bad things that have happened to himself but also still clings to the feeling that he so desperately does not want to die but if he does? he’s thinks he’ll deserve it because he must be a terrible monster
#jon#and when he does show anger it just makes things worse#Which is fucking painful!#he's not allowed to be mad!#he's been raised to bottle up his anger and it makes him messy sometimes and he doesn't always think things through#cos he's just got so much repressed emotion - not just anger#that it explodes and just causes more pain for him and everyone around him#i just made myself really sad writing that#but fuck dude. the table. the fucking table.
