Iāve been playing 76 recently btw. Itās actually a lot of fun. It took me a good few hours to get into it but after a while? HOOKED. Sure, itās not 4. But if youāve exhausted 4 like I have, itās a good new dose of quests. Though itās crazy buggy even by Bethesda standards. I wouldnāt buy it full price.
All the recent fallout love has made my fallout-loving heart very, very happy. I havenāt finished the show yet, so no spoilers please!

Hi btw I AM working on getting through those asks rn but Iāve been hit with a super super severe peak of depression so im gonna need you all to stick with me for a while. I donāt wanna vent or go into it much here, just letting everyone know while I get back on my feet. Im not ignoring you I promise, im just trying not to rot in place for 6 hours straight.
since goe and lup have the ancestors they do i wonder how they would approach the prospect of having kids? Fuji doesnt seem like the kinda person whod want kids of her own but i wouldnt be surprised if lups been with other women. Goe doesn't seem interested in romance at all for the most part but maybe thatd change once hes a bit older. How would they manage kids while being thieves I wonder š¤
Ooohā¦ this is a good one!
I canāt see Lupin ever settling down for long enough to ever actively parent a kid. Of course, his legacy is important to him, as it has been to his father and grandfather, but heās never been one to do things by-the-book.
Goemon, I thjnk, would be more inclined to live a slower, easier life. He knows he canāt pretend to be young forever, even if that doesnāt necessarily mean having kids.
Lupin is great with kids from a merely entertainment-centric standpoint. Heās animated and wacky and constantly in-motion; and most kids love that! His natural charm makes him a wonderful candidate for childrenās birthday parties, but not so much for babysitting. He is, of course, level-headed enough to safeguard a child. He cannot, however, be trusted not to let them get away with murder.
In fact, heā¦ actually actively encourages bad behaviour. In his experience, breaking rules is great, and itās exactly what he did as a kid. And who wouldnāt want to turn out like him?
On second thought, maybe donāt leave your kids around him at all. Just to be safe.
When it comes to kids of his own, Lupin is pretty indifferent. He loves the idea of having someone to carry his family name into the future, but he knows he could never be a reliable father figure. He recognises first-hand how messed up it is when your dad is some daredevil big-name thief, and he knows that he couldnāt possibly give up his lifestyle for long enough to break that cycle.
Over time, maybe he starts to recognise that thereās potential for an adopted heir of some kind further down the line? I can see him taking an older kid under his wing and teaching them the tricks of the trade, and I think that would be a much better fit for him and his nature and the level of responsibility he can reliably be trusted with. We know that heās more than comfortable sharing his life with his found family, and I think having an heir who isnāt necessarily a blood descendent wouldnāt be any kind of issue for him.
The Lupin name itself is important to him, however, and heād make a huge deal of passing it down to someone else. You donāt get to wear the Lupin name and not live up to the legend. Heāll make it his mission to haunt you otherwise.
In short: theyāll have to be one badass kid.
Goemon isnāt planning on settling down any time soon, either. Though he toys with the idea, he knows that he isnāt satisfied with his own abilities yet. Training is rigorous and the hours he spends away are long. He canāt in good conscience have a child when heās so busy bettering himself.
With that said, he is well aware of the slow passage of time. He recognises that theyāre all going to get old one day, and when he can no longer work, he will need other things to keep him busy and fulfilled. While he has no active interest in children, he doesnāt totally write off the idea. Itās justā¦ there, in the back of his mind. A situational āmaybeā, if you will.
After all, Goemonā¦ struggles, shall we say, with children. He finds it a little grating to constantly have to explain himself and the world around him, especially in simple terms. While heās kind and generous in his own way, itās clear that the distance he keeps socially might not always gel with raising a kid; especially when it comes to teaching societal norms and expectations.
To Goemon, in opposition to Lupin, his name is less about passing it on and much more about making sure that he himself does it justice. He is going to be the best he can be, because thatās what his name implies. The weight of his familyās history is on his shoulders: THAT is whatās important to him.
The secret third answer to this prompt is Zenigata, by the way. Again, not the mostā¦ devoted or present father, thatās for sure, but certainly the best father figure out of the whole gang. Probably the most likely to have children, too, considering heās been there, done that, left to get the milk.
Also definitely the most intent on passing down his name. If he wasnāt insanely obsessed with Lupin, I reckon heād be living a stereotypical nuclear family lifestyle. Definitely deep in the closet, but you know what? At least heās great with kids.
At the end of part 6 Lupin got VERY close to killing Goemon
What if Jigen didnt shoot the gun out of his hand on time
I need to preface this with the simple fact that I LOATHE part 6. Iāve tried and tried and tried to love it, and itāsā¦ complicated. There are sparks of greatness there, there really are! And Iām a Brit, so seeing Lupin & co cruise through London? Yeah. Thatās pretty cool. Or, yknow, it would have been, if the backgrounds werenāt descaled stock images. That said, Iāll try my best just for you anon. š«”
Iād like to think that āsleeper agent Lupinā has a little more control over himself than is shown. I canāt find it in me (in good faith) to genuinely believe that he would ever, under almost any circumstance, hurt any of the gang. Heās in there somewhere, and we know that Lupin can do incredible things when he puts his mind to it. That said, if he had hit Goemonā¦
Jigen would never forgive himself, I donāt think. Not quick enough, not smart enough, not sharp enoughā¦ he strikes me as the kind of man to stew quietly on a mistake like that. Heās not gonna voice how heās feeling to anyone, but the others can feel it in the way heās taken to drawing his gun that little bit quicker. He doesnāt hesitate anymore, maybe they leave heists with a few more bodies littering the ground. Heās certainly much less considerate for a while. There isnāt space for compassion if his companions could get hurt. He comes off as more violent, when really, heās just more high-strung. He needs time to relax into their rhythm again and things will even out, but for now, he isnāt taking any chances. Especially not when he could have the weight of someoneās life on his shoulders.
Goemonā¦ oh, poor Goemon. Heās okay, right? Youāre not gonna make me write that heās dead, right? (Jokes on you, I donāt write much angst. Youāre getting alive and well Goemon.) ā¦makes a rather miraculous recovery! (Ha!)
Naturally, this comes with its own issues. Heās totally out of commission for a solid six months, at the very least, and heās leftā to his chagrinā totally at Lupin and Jigenās mercy. As ruthless as the two of them have become on heists, at home, theyāre closer than ever. Jigen dotes on Goemon, and has learned a handful of authentic recipes he might never have picked up otherwise. Heās taken to tending to Zantetsuken, too, even if itās always under Goemonās watchful, ever-critical, eye. Lupin, on his part, is still not allowed anywhere near Zantetsuken, though this is more a reflection of his Lupin-isms than it is the whole shooting fiasco, and instead has made it his mission to force Goemon into watching movies with him.
Lupin confides in Goemon about his plans. He checks constantly for a second opinion, and his frantic pantomiming of whatever scheme heās cooked up this time keeps Goemon mildly entertained. Itās a great comfort to Lupin to have Goemonās level-headed attitude present around the hideout consistently, and though Goemon has been incredibly critical about the logistics of āThe Wizard of Ozā, heās come to find that the Samurai makes a great plot-hole finder. The two of them have taken to blasting popular films on Letterboxd, if only to laugh (or smirk, and insist stubbornly that he isnāt, in Goemonās case) at the incensed replies they get from die-hard fans.
Fujiko comes and goes, visiting more frequently in the beginning. She often drops little gifts off for Goemon (things sheās picked up in Japan, most likely) and pretends that she has no idea where they came from. As if sheād have the time for all that, anyway. Sheās a busy girl, you know? Though, sheād love to know if Goemon enjoyed the konpeitÅ Jigen found on the hearth. Just because sheās curious.
Zenigata, having witnessed the whole thing, has quietly defended Lupinās honour. While he certainly canāt say anything publicly, heās been a forum warrior and a staunch advocate for āslimy-and-a-pain-in-the-assā Lupin, rather than ānow-blatantly-evilā Lupin. Because he might hate Lupinās gutsā or at least pretend toā but deep down, heās offended at the mere insinuation that Lupin is morally corrupt. They might be opposites, but Zeni can respect Lupinās unshifting personal morals if nothing else.
Ask me abt hcās and AUS and characters PLEASE please I beg. Iām in such a writing mood rn. Or fic wips, perhaps. I might be tempted into sharing thoseā¦
Usually I go outside when itās dark and I think shit, Iām so sad right now. I feel like a cog in a machine. I guess Iād better do my chores.
But yesterday I went outside in the dark and the wind hit my hands and my face and I thought damn, I feel so alive right now. Iām going to buy myself something sweet.
It was so refreshing. I wanna feel like that all the time dude. I wish I was a generally happy person. I feel like I lost that feeling when I went to uni.
Learning to live as an adult should have a trigger warning.
Anyway I think my mood might have had something to do with the fact that I got to experience THE Andreas Deja talk live. That was pretty fucking awesome. I was reminded of how much I love animation, which was nice. I need that feeling right about now.

Thanks for the lovely comments everyone! :,) Iām an animation student but this kinda stuff is tough even for me sometimes. Your kind words donāt go unnoticed, I promise!

In response to @tacky-optic : those previous drawings were various loose warmups (VERY loose warmups) for work on the following wip!
I wonāt spoil my second shot, but itās a goodāun! ;)
Ok I finally have the energy to talk about this like I originally wanted to. Um? Strap in I guess. Iām gonna justā¦ go through this verse by verse, and write down my thoughtsā because this song is very near and dear to me, and makes me feel a whole lot.
āIām a horse, Iām a dog, Iām a sparrow
Iām a spider inside you
Trying to keep you off the straight and narrowā
I interpret this first half of the first verse (in the universe in my head where this is written for and about loopzoop specifically) as a kind of recognition of Lupinās many faces. He flits between āhorse, dog, sparrow, spiderā, as Zenigata struggles to place exactly what is real about him and what might be a front. Is he really āa horseā or is he something more sinister, with equally as sinister intentions? I think itās worth pointing out that both a horse and sparrow have these connotations of freedom: Lupin presents as if heās totally untethered, and yet, he sits as a nagging, spindly little feeling in Zenigataās chest. As the two spend time together over the years, their morals start to align more and moreā where Lupin becomes softer, more understanding, a little more thoughtful and introspective, Zenigata becomes a little more careless in his adherence to the law. He stops blindly trusting the rules heās been taught to obey and begins to take justice into his own hands. Reflecting on this, though, Lupin becomes the voice in his head telling him to be a little laxer. Heās breaking his moral code because he trusts Lupinās word over that of his superiors; thus ākeep you off the straight and narrowā. Itās worth mentioning that you can also read this first section as if itās about Zenigata, from Lupinās perspective. Zenigata, in being Lupinās main challenge in life, becomes āthe spiderā pushing him further into his life of crime. While we all know that Lupin wouldnāt ever truly walk the straight and narrow, itās not out of character for him to blame someone else for his wrongdoings. If he pins the notion on Zenigata, he isnāt doing anything wrong! Heās just poking a dangerous bear. You know. For fun!
āPick me up, put me down, let me dangle
Iām a carrot on a string
Iām the sword as it hangs above you.ā
āPick me up, put me down, let me dangleā can relate to either of the two. Both Zenigata and Lupin use eachother as a means of entertainment and fulfilment, and sometimes their actions are totally self-serving. Lupin especially treats Zenigata as if heās a plaything: āpicking him upā when heās bored and āputting him downā when heās satisfied. They wait on eachother, and find fulfilment in the chase. āDanglingā could represent those moments in which they wait for the other to make a move. The comparison of the ācarrot on a string/sword as it hangs above youā embodies the risk/reward of their relationship. For Lupin, Zenigata is a constant driving force. The idea of escaping again becomes the ācarrotā that encourages Lupin into each heist, and Zenigata is the challenge- the āswordā that could do some serious damage if it ever made contact with him. For Zenigata, Lupin himself is the ācarrotā. The prize just out of reach that keeps him working a pretty thankless job.
āIām the curse, Iām the cure, the solution
Iām the reality
and the illusion
Iām a kid, Iām a friend, Iām a teacher
Iām the object in the distance
but youāll never reach herā
To Zenigata, Lupin is both āthe curseā that torments him, and the āsolutionā to said curse. If Zenigata can catch Lupin, in theory, all his problems would be fixed. And yet, Zenigata canāt catch Lupin, because that would cause a slew of new problems. Youāll notice this song is made up of contradictions and thatās definitely why Iām so attached to it in regards to their relationship haha. āIām the reality/and the illusionā to me, speaks to the duality of how Lupin presents himself (again). Heās the ārealityā, when he stands for something bigger than himself- when he acts selflessly and with heart. (Think: Miyazaki Lupin, Late green-jacket, Nostradamus-esque red-jacket. Etc etc.) And is the āillusionā when heās unpredictable, masking & mostly self-serving. (Think: mamo, most of blue-jacket, manga Lupin. Etc etc.)
āIām the kid/friend/teacherā represents the different ways in which Lupin and Zenigataās relationship morphs/is interpreted. As a ākidā, Lupin is childish and materialistic: heās at his worst when heās disingenuous and selfish. Zenigata, similarly, is at HIS worst when heās violent and uncaring towards Lupin. As āfriendsā, the two are equals, standing side-by-side and forgetting their differences to work towards solving something bigger than themselves. As āteachersā, they are better than eachother. Lupin, at his best, teaches Zenigata to let loose every once in a while. He embodies the idea of freedom and whimsy and seeing the world not as what it is, but what it could be. Zenigata, at his best, teaches Lupin to have compassion. To be selfless and to put others before himself.
āObject in the distance/but youāll never reach herā is pretty self-explanatory. Lupin is always just out of reach for Zenigata. He is both emotionally unavailable (hidden behind a handful of cheerier, flirtier masks) and physically unavailable. He never lingers long enough for the two to get comfortable.
āIām a rat, Iām a dirty little liar
Iām a deep sea diver
Iām a backseat driver in a stormā
Lupin isnāt an honest person. He doesnāt make an honest living and he certainly doesnāt tell the truth when heās confronted. As a ādeep sea diverā heās both impressive and always walking a dangerous line, and as a ābackseat driverā, he lingers in Zenigataās head as an irritating monologue. Zenigata, lost in a āstormā (emotionally and/or physically) will often use Lupinās voice as a guide, for better or for worse.
āIām a chord, Iām the bell that keeps ringing
A stone in your shoe
The bird your cat keeps bringing home.ā
Continuing on from this idea of an internal monologue, neither Zenigata not Lupin can seem to rid themselves of the other. (Unrelated to this point, but āchordā here is a lovely indicator again of the complex feelings that come together to form each character) ābell that keeps ringing/stone in your shoe/bird your cat keeps bringing homeā all indicate that this is a relationship neither of them particularly want to be inā or, certainly wouldnāt have signed themselves up for. But, for one reason or another, itās inescapable.
āIām a rabbit, Iām a hunter and the snare
Daddyās little princess
Mummyās little nightmare
Iām the window, Iām the door you left open
Iām the tap you left running
Iām the choice that you should have chosenā
Finally, both Zenigata and Lupin here can be the ārabbit/hunter and the snareā. Lupin often presents as someone who could be easily outsmarted: all the while, masterminding a detailed scheme to come out on top. Similarly, Zenigata is underestimated constantly because of his politeness and clumsy nature, though heās actually incredibly talented and a natural at his job. They have each āensnaredā the other; and, again, are now stuck in a hunter/prey-like chase.
āDaddyās little princess/Mummyās little nightmareā in my opinion, though the hardest line in this whole song to make sense of through a shaky luzeni lens lol, represents the familial ties that keep Lupin and Zenigata on their respective paths, and how theyāve both stuck to, and deviated from, the pathās of their ancestors. Where Lupin upholds his family legacy by stealing (but strays from it by often losing treasure by putting people first), Zenigata upholds his by protecting justice (but strays from it by often breaking the law for the greater good).
āIm the window, the door you left open/tap you left running/choice that you should have chosenā you know that nagging feeling in the back of your head? That tells you that you definitely didnāt double-check the plugs, or turn off the oven? Luzeni are that for eachother. Every choice they make hinges on the other person. They are so ingrained in each otherās lives that itās impossible for each of them to make a decision that doesnāt involve the other.
āIāll never leave you alone
Push me away, but Iāll never leave you alone.ā
Iāll never leave you alone by the staves is the luzeni song of the century for me. Just felt like I needed to put that out there.
I could elaborate on this so bad and I might later but rn I just needed to write it down as a statement. Itās fact. Itās here on my tumblr blog.
Also. Winter trees has been one of my favourite songs for years now. You shld listen to it if ur seeing this
