There she was, her back to him, her work uniform hanging loosely on her frame. It was a little big, and Jamie watched as she fussed with the tie that kept it tight around her middle. He let himself admire her for just a moment; the way she turned her delicate wrists as she stretched her arms over her head…it nearly undid him. He’d never understood why Victorian women would hide their ankles and wrists until now. They definitely had their allure - at least where Claire was concerned. Shifting on his feet, Jamie steadied himself, then cleared his throat, finally letting her know he was there. Turning around, she caught sight of him, her cheeks were flush - whether from work or the walk home, he didn’t know.

I'm going to write a new chapter of a WIP tomorrow.

I CAN DO IT!!!

Well...

Story ideas have reappeared in my mind; little snippets of new things, lots of chunks of works in progress...

I need to do something about my mental exhaustion, though. It's a giant wall that keeps me from doing anything really taxing mentally. I've blocked out almost all news, updates on family members who don't live nearby, even little tasks like enrolling my kiddo for kindergarten - I keep putting it off because the thought of it is exhausting.

Anyway, long story short: I am alive, my brain works - sort of - and I hope to get back to writing sometime soon.

Note to self

Ah, yes. Another one of my rambling posts where I apologize, give excuses, and generally just whine into the void.

No updates from me in a while, I know. I've been dealing with some health issues that I'm still trying to figure out. Vertigo, dizziness, and now let's throw fainting spells into the mix!!! It's a long story, but I really, really want to be okay again. 🥴

And unfortunately my fic writing is just not a priority at the moment. I will be back, though. I had hoped to get a Halloween story out for you all, but it may have to be an after-Halloween story, haha!

I think I'm getting my life back?! My vertigo is improving, which means I'll have my weekday mornings back to write instead of suffer!

So, I've got a new chapter of Do No Harm in the works, and a new little short story that popped into my head last night. It'll be a little different than what I normally do, so I'm excited about it!

I wish I could say I'll have some sort of update by the end of the week, but I'm taking it slow.
