I was reminded of another option in the comments, and I love it just as much: maybe Vox's head is actually not the TV on his shoulders, which only serves as a display screen. His actual head is made of pure electricity/energy and he uses the TV as an interface to interact with other people! (So he could get decapitated or shot in the "head" without it affecting him in any way)

If Vox had the choice, do you think he would go back to having a normal biological head on his body (while keeping all his demonic powers - ability to connect to the Voxtek network only with his mind + the possibility to transfer his consciousness to any tv screen), or would he prefer to keep the tv head? To some people the "normal" head (as normal as it can be in Hell anyway) would be the obvious choice but in my opinion Vox would probably hesitate because he has been using the TV head for decades and despite its flaws, it has a lot of uses... He can upgrade himself anytime, can display anything he wants on his face, can control the circuits of his own brain... It also has strategical advantages (easily replaceable parts, less vulnerable that flesh and bone that must regenerate on their own) and it's the face of his own brand. But he would also miss the things that he used to experience with a biological head, especially if the screen means he can't taste food, drink, smell, feel his own face, his hair (or his wig lol), breathe... so he could be tempted to choose the biological head (and turn himself into some kind of cyborg with a high tech mask and implants so he can have the best of both worlds)

Radiostatic reverse-verse where Alastor is the one who's obsessed with Vox. Nothing lustful or romantic about it. He's in his radio tower giggling, twirling his hair and kicking his feet, starting a new broadcast which will be dedicated to roasting Vox for the 17th time this week, from the shower gel he uses to the subpar brand of ramen noodles he ate two days in a row because he was on a time crunch for a new product release. He doesn't have his own surveillance cameras but who needs those when he can travel through shadows? Plus, TV, cell phones, radars and wifi all work thanks to radio waves. He has full access to Vox's entire empire and he sure knows how to use it for his nefarious purposes (being a shameless stalker).

He sends him silly little drawings through the mail, and charcuterie boards made with the meat of whoever annoyed Vox this week (Only HE is allowed to bully Vox). At any moment of the day Vox is at risk of turning around and finding himself face to face with Alastor staring unblinkingly at him with the creepiest smile on his face.

People tease him for acting like a kid pulling on his crush' pigtails. Vox himself propositions him so that he can "get him out of his system" and finally leave him be, and Alastor is just like. Huh. Gross?? No thanks??? This is a purely platonic unhealthy obsession, thank you very much. What type of underwear are you wearing, though?

Basically:

"What do you see in him?"

"He makes me laugh!"

I have a whole essay planned on how Hazbin's plot could be rewritten to make Chaggie a more appealing ship dynamic (*to me, personally) but I"ll just say this rn: Vaggie should have been the one who killed the angel, not Carmilla.

#Carmilla is great and she can step on me but she was an unnecessary character in an overbloated narrative and I'm not afraid to say it!!

Alastor looks like he wants to explain himself and deny some of the accusations but he can't take back his hurtful words/actions (7 years absence) and he "can't erase what [he] wrote in ink" :3

Sooo about Vox and Alastor...

The Radio Demon controls radio waves. Guess what?

Over-the-air television: Television broadcasting through radio waves, from a transmitter (TV station) to a receiver (TV antennae)

Satellite television: A TV signal transmitted by radio waves from a satellite.

Cable television: Radio frequency signals transmitted via cables

Until the early 2000s, TV signals were entirely transmitted through analogue signals: for decades, the original television technology only worked thanks to RADIO technology.

Those antennae on Vox's head? They're 'rabbit ears'!! Dipole receivers, meant to intercept radio waves broadcasted by TV stations, convert them to radio frequency electric currents, and send those to the TV via a radio currents transmission line, to be converted and processed to produce pictures and sounds.

It makes perfect sense for Vox and Alastor to have been "pals". Alastor calls him an " old pal" mockingly, but there's no way Vox would have been able to implement any kind of TV technology in Hell without the help of radio technology - technology that Alastor had control over. For decades, TV was literally radio with pictures. Alastor used to tolerate him (despite Vox encroaching on his territory) at worst, but might have supported him at best!

In my opinion, the beef between them comes from Vox's transition from Analogue to Digital, aka the digital switchover.

When Vox asked Alastor to join his team, it's possible he suggested Alastor switches to digital radio broadcasting (better sound quality, less transmission power required, a compressed digitized signal that allows for more radio programs in the same radio spectrum...). Of course, Alastor didn't care for that.

Was Vox's transition (partly) motivated by a desire to be more independent from Alastor? In any case, he's certainly not that much more independent now: streaming television and the streaming platforms & other services available on digital TVs depend on internet connectivity. And Wi-Fi uses radio waves.

In other words: Alastor's radio waves still live in Vox's TV head rent free, in the most literal way possible :3
