riley’s kindness is immense - she would literally take a bullet for a complete stranger and is often putting others before herself, but don’t think she’s selfish. she is. especially when it comes to attention. she’s needy when it comes to attention and just really wants to be happy.
she’s terrified of commitment, but she also craves it? she loves touch but she flinches away from it too, especially if she doesn’t trust you. she gets really awkward when people touch her first. make sure she’s hugged you or something before you return in kind because she only likes touch when its on HER terms. she tends to run from relationships when they get too serious. platonic love is something she’s more comfortable with.
riley makes herself out to be submissive ( and not just in the bedroom ), but get her confidence going and she’ll get bossy. (’:
she likes to get into all sorts of trouble. she likes to do things that get her adrenaline pumping. she has random urges to run away to different cities and just —- do things. she gets restless really easily and needs to do things or she gets destructive. her poor hair has suffered many times because of her restlessness.
she can’t have biological children due to her mutation, so naturally children love and flock to her. she also have an unspoken way to communicate with animals and they adore her. Actual Disney Princess.
she is the WORST enabler —- don’t have your muse ask her to tell them not to do something, because she will tell them to do the exact opposite. ‘tell me not to buy this shirt.’ ‘buy it. do it. let your dreams become reality.’
she’s a lil radiator of heat —- she gives the BEST cuddles!
her sense of adventure carries on into the bedroom — she’s pretty much willing to try anything. she likes to be on top no matter the gender of her partner.
ask to see her greenhouse – a gift from ryan — and you will be her Best Friend Forever
try to tell her no or that she can’t do something. see what happens.
riley is an empath -- not a supernatural one, but just one naturally. she is v in tune with other people’s emotions. because of this, she oft feels compelled to help others, and her kindness is immense.
her brother has a safe house in the country of NY that safely harbors anyone who might be hiding from the law. there are a lot of rules and regulations in place if you want to stay there due to the fact ryan doesn’t wanna harbor anyone inherently evil, but anyone is welcome. riley oft frequents there to help people who may need healing or the like. riley is also in charge of a charity relief program that aids in cleaning up after disastrous events caused by supernatural causes ( ie: loki attacking NYC ). You can often see her out in the rubble helping the wounded and the like.
She has a dimple in her right cheek. Her eyes have a soft glow to them. Her freckles dust her entire face and are pretty prominent.
she’s a plant, so she can’t blush. and when she bleeds, it’s a yellow / white sap.
she’s got two cats. one cat is fucking crazy. he only likes her, and is really REALLY ugly. snaggle tooth, one eye kinda ugly. his name is viggo. her other cat, aela, is a total sweetheart, and part bobcat. think little grey kitty with tufted ears and a bob tail. aela is the shop cat, while viggo is forced to stay upstairs. riley also has a husky, nymeria.

DEVASTATION LEFT IN THE WAKE OF GOOD INTENTIONS ; riley had seen it time & time again, the well of GRIEF that proceeded a bitter necessity. she did not agree with the ACCORDS ( had signed them mainly to keep her parents happy —- but now they were GONE ), but to see all of this heartache, to hold someone’s hand after they found out their husband had not made it ; riley’s heart SWELLED painfully within the confines of her chest. the city was left in RUIN ———————- the soft patter of rain falling against the weeping city ; she did only what she knew how, and that was to HEAL. head upturned, she captured a couple of DROPS on her face before turning her attention to the nearest wounded.

It took her a moment to realize she was being spoken to. her thoughts had strayed to all the STRESSES of her life, of her brother who lay in a coma, of her niece who worried that her father wouldn’t wake and her abilities would manifest into something out of her CONTROL. riley had been a rock for molly since ryan had fallen into the darkness, but it left little room for her to reflect on her own emotions. had she been crying? she couldn’t tell, but when she finally came to, a slight shake of her head forced her to REFOCUS.
she came to central park when she needed to think, to be away from her little shop and her loft. molly was at school, and the park was busy enough that it didn’t make riley feel isolated. had she been human, her cheeks would have been CHILLED pink, but her scarf chased away such cold. a dimpled smile cratered her cheeks, and her eyes lit up when she looked up.

RILEY’S ABILITIES ; A META !
time to talk about riley’s abilities!! they’ve developed a lot over the years i’ve had her ———— and have really become their own. riley’s soul is celestial, and those abilities she’s had since birth and have manifested since birth. her botanokinesis only manifested once when the twins were three. during the house fire that killed their parents ( a flame that would HAUNT ryan for the rest of his life ), riley and ryan were trapped inside their room. they wouldn’t have made it, but riley managed to actively manifest her abilities and caused her skin to become impervious to the flame. ryan ( he’s a dragon, you can see his bio over on @urulxce ) is not yet impervious naturally to his pyrokinesis, was shielded from the flame by his sister, and that’s how they were discovered by the firemen. they were only together after that long enough for SHIELD to show up before they were separated. riley’s abilities went back to sleep, but she was also without harm, whereas ryan suffered from smoke inhalation. the extent of riley’s abilities would manifest when riley hit puberty. her abilities are as follows:
BOTANOKINESIS ( PLANT MANIPULATION ):
riley is, in all biological aspects, a plant. her skin is light with a very slight green tint. she has the ability to secrete / sweat a sticky sap like substance that has a really strong adhesive property. during times of great stress, she can also release spores that are HIGHLY toxic and can actually kill someone without sufficient ventilation. she can use her own body as a breeding ground for various plants / members of nature, and harden her skin to be that of bark. her fingers can also twist and manipulate and turn into vines that can whip her enemies ( like groot ! )
her biological make up makes her unable to have children ( though it is possible for her to reproduce asexually, but that’s a different meta for a different time ), as well as unable to eat large amounts of meat. her canines are flat, not pointed like regular humans, and it can actually make her extremely ill. she can survive off of nature alone for sustenance, and also the sun. she can get energy from the sun.
her botanokinesis naturally shows itself through her appearance — she’s got lil pink flowers growing out of her skin along her spine, and sometimes she’ll have lil thorns or something grow out of her knuckles / along various parts of her body. it changes by the day / by the season. during winter, she’s miserable.
she can mildly communicate with animals. they understand each others intentions and she can soothe angry animals + communicate with them in a language not our own. she can also read the intention of nature itself.
CELESTIAL ABILITIES:
she’s got the blood of what humanity would call angels, a radiant light of which she can use to her advantage. the celestial bloodline is not the same celestials that we see in gotg/marve.l canon, but more angel like / more beings of light and divinity.
riley can HEAL HERSELF. it is very difficult for her to be killed / to be seriously injured, as her blood have very potent healing abilities. her blood is GOLD, and painfully so — before SHIELD’S fall and before her parent’s disappearance, there was a family doctor who cared for her and her special needs, especially when she was younger. after her parent’s disappearance ( I’ll talk about that in another meta post as well ), that doctor also fell off the radar, forcing riley to care for her own needs. honestly, if she is hurt / sick, usually time in the sun / time in general for her celestial blood to cure her is all she needs.
riley can HEAL OTHERS. she can do it through a mere touch, but a blood transfusion is MUCH more effective and can heal wounds on a greater scale. if she heals through touch, a soft glow runs through her veins and around her fingers, and there is no ill side effect for the person she heals. she herself gets a little lightheaded and drained of energy, so it shouldn’t be used just willy nilly. if she gives her healing through a blood transfusion, the person receiving her healing / blood will have some side effects for a few days. nausea, light headed, visions ( sometimes they can mildly predict the future ), and fatigue are the most common side effects, and never usually last more than three days. it also depends on how much of riley’s blood is running through their veins.
riley had EMPATHIC nature. it’s kinda like reading someone’s aura; she can sense the pain, the happiness, the sadness of others and unlike her niece, molly ( or mantis ), she can’t actively use an ability to change someone’s mood, but she feels very deeply and will oft feel other’s emotions as if they are her own. this causes her to feel very passionately about helping the world around her. this is kinda less of an ability and more of a trait of hers? but she can also touch people and feel their emotions more strongly.
