A skull, graven in the floor...

Today I visited the Santa Maria della Vittoria Church in Rome, where we fannibals can find something very familiar…

Santa Maria della Vittoria (English: Our Lady of Victory) is a Roman Catholic titular church dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It was begun in 1605 and completed in 1626 by the architects Carlo Maderno and Giovanni Battista Soria.

The Church is designed with a Baroque style and it is also famous for housing a Bernini’s masterpiece, Ecstasy of St. Teresa, situated on the Cornaro Chapel, where our beloved “skull, graven in the floor”, reminder of mortality, is placed. 😊

We’ve both been his bride

It has been 2 years after the fall. W&H are just the same creature in human forms, the more human the more they hunt and love life to the fullest. They are platonic because is sweet, is nice, is peaceful and they want nothing more, they don't desire desire, they don't ask for lust and physical passion. W&H are loving and loving each with every atom of their beings, every molecule bonded by their monsters and their humanity union. It has been two years and some months, H is laying on the tender ground of their garden, watching some bees waltzing over some pink and white flowers, it's a humid day, partial clouds here and there, the shadow's tree protecting him is the reason why W love to be in their garden overwatching the sea. Huge tree. It doesn't have that many leaves but it's just the right amount in the right places and you would love to be there too. It's perfect. H is resting, his eyes playing lights and colors, and the back door is opening, is closing, steps approaching and W sits besides. "I love you Hannibal". H opens his eyes and the world dies and reborn in an instant. "Will" he says, and W knows is the same thing, his own name mean Hannibal's "I love you"s since long time ago. "Will" H repeats. W drop his heads, nudges both their noses and kiss him.

oh god oh fuck okay. anon you’ve unleashed horrors beyond your comprehension

so my first run of the mill scenario is that they kiss after having their first hunt together. i don’t know when that would be, maybe years after their fall, maybe just days, whenever will brings it up. i picture them finishing their kill and then simply giving into it, the emotionality of it all rivaling the moment they’d shared on the cliff.

the second one is that as they’re fighting about something, the emotions of all the past years simply overwhelms them and their kiss is raw, almost brutal, a clash of teeth and biting and gasping. something that seems to consume them from within and tear them apart from the inside out. i’d say this one is not the standard for them tho- the first one would be like this simply because of all the incredibly charged moments they’d shared in the past.

the third option is my favorite. my favorite headcanon is that after the fall they get onto a boat to hide for a while and nurse each other back to health. i imagine those weeks, maybe months, as quiet and soft. maybe they don’t exchange words for entire days, because they don’t need to. they remain close, sleep holding each other as if they were still falling embraced, and help one another heal. i imagine them not even needing to kiss at all to cement the fact that their relationship has simply changed, but the first time they do they’re laying side by side in the small bed, facing each other, and just exchange a small, soft press of lips, quietly falling asleep as the waves carry them.
