Here was what i was able to acheve after losing a lot of work. while i wanted to keep working on it and the idea was that i wanted to try making the charater do a vault over an object much like how you see free runners do so but the reality was that. i already wanted to go back and bring other work up to a standard i was happy with and each day i was working on this i was loseing on other projects. in the end i had to leave what i had done at this point just so i can finish other project work.

For my Specalism project i wanted to work on an animation. and i almost finished a 10 second animation. my idea was to do a Avengers Endgame style shot with the “main charater” looking like that are about to take on the final boss alone only for reinforcments to arive at the last moment and turn the tide. I actually got the shot about 95% finished with all secondary animations finished and facial animations but somthing went wrong with the script the rig for the charaters mesh. I wasnt able to diagnose the issue. I was somewhat lucky in the fact i had a recording of my animation close to done from a instagram story so i am adding it in so you can see what i was aiming to acheve.

Suffice to say it was broken.
What was worse is that it also affected all other versions of the file meaning i couldent even go back to a older version of the shot and redo the work. i would  have to start from scratch.

For me this Model is not finished. in fact i had no intention of finishing the model over this project. for me this model is a test platform to allow me to experiment and learn areas of the 3D pipeline that i am less confident in. such as substance and being able to experiment with Texel Density and UV mapping and unreal engine. all of which are things that i have not done with this model. becuase want to take my time and understand the process. In fact i did do that with this model when it came to mesh topology i feel like i have grown in my ability to plan out how i am going to build a model so that next time i can do the job faster.
for now i am done with this but i want to come back to it in the future and add working suspention and an inside to the car as well as really lean how to properly prep a model for export to substance

Larry Chen is a prominant Car and Motorsport Photographer, as a  Photographer alot of his work is limited to still images and he has masrtered the art commiunicating motion and purpose in his work. on the other hand he is also very good at using the world around him as a tool to make the cars he takes pictures of even more visually captivating.

Maciej Kuciara’s work on Ghost in the Shell (2017) is a big influance for the merger of retro silhouettes with modern elements such as LED headlights and holographic car dashes

Ash Thorp is a Concept artist who has worked films such as the live action Ghost in the Shell Movie

Khyzyl Saleem takes the old. and merges it with the new. taking elements that are iconic from both times. a great example is BMW E30 kit he has designed seen here (https://www.instagram.com/p/BxAI0I1FSNN/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link) which is a real body kit that can be brought and used. To me this in addtion with car photograthy influnces and motorspot both old and new creates iconic designs that take iconic elements from  the past and brings them to modern logical conlution that spark the imagination

Here you can see as i make final changes to the body and adding in the wheel wells.

Above you can see how im starting to think about how i want my doors to open. once again you can see how i am adding a very modern element which is normally only seen on expense hypercars such as what you see on Koenigsegg cars. this was more of an experimentation rather than how i actually want to make the door work since im not inteanding to work on the inside of the car during this project.

 Like many of the Cars of the 60s and 70s I added trim to the windows since i still want to have these elements on the car to give it this retro yet modern vibe.

I took some influance from a 1970 Dodge charger that had its entire Unibody cut out and replaced with a modified Nascar tube body that sports massive nascar wheels for my model instead of that you typically see with modern cars. where the idea is to have as large rims as possible since i feel makes the car look more beefed up and rugged as if it can drive over multiple terrains.

Here you can see the rims which are based off the VN47 Vectors from American Racing but i made them more chuncky to give them a modern hint and to make them look much more sturdy.

You can see how the rear lights have outer mount. with smaller meshes inside which will be the the actual lighting element with a addtional mesh which will server as the glass that covers the lights.

here you can see metal trims added on the wheel arches much like what you can see on the 1969 Dodge Super Bee and i have finalised the shape of the rear lights.

here you can see in comparison to how i started on this project i made alot of tweaks to the topolagy and thought my work on this project i was constantly tweaking parts of the body to make the body lines flow as best as possible.

Some influances came from modern cars and the cars in cyberpunk 2077 where instead of mirrors they use camaras.

after the front lights i made another pass at the rear lights since i wasnt totally sure how i wanted them to look. in this pass i took hints from the rear lights of the 2020 and 1969 dodge charger

before i stopped working on this model i was trying to design the lights. Here you can see how i wanted to base mine on a mix of a 1969 dodge charger, a 1969 super bee and 1970 super bee. from the shape of the grill i based on the super bees and how the lights are hidden when not in use i got the idea from a charger.

For my Portfolio project i wanted to keep working on a model i had started in the summer of 2020. i had gotten pretty far with my retero looking car that i wanted to have some sci fi eliments.

My part to role in the Walking sim was mostly that of logistics. I desgined the Blockout of the level which gave us an idea of the scale we wanted to work towards as well as rough silhouette of a lot of the objects seen in the game. and helped make ajustments to it as needed. I made sure people knew what they needed to do and tried to make sure everyone had a chance to input into the project. and organised our group meetings and set out the timeline for finishing the project as a group
