It's true. I got the manga in hand. It happens right after Levi kills a group of men that had been ready to beat him to death and/or sell him into a sex trafficking circle, and then Kenny just LEAVES him. And then Levi goes back to the room he once shares with his mother, and as he's trying to remember her, the cup just breaks in his hand, and Levi bursts into tears. I can't with this, man... The trauma Levi's carrying is unreal. I'm gonna' go into a detailed analysis once we get a good and full translation of all the pages. But I can say right now that Levi having to kill those men, coupled with Kenny leaving him, and all that mixed up with this solitary good memory he has of Kuchel, must have caused Levi untold psychological damage. It's an absolute miracle that he turned out to be the man he did, because this kind of violence and confusion and unprocessed trauma would have destroyed most people and turned them into a monster. When we consider this all, too, with how Levi watched his mother die... He wasn't taught anything but that life is cheap and worthless... and yet, he ends up valuing life more than any other character in the story. He ends up seeing life as precious and something to be protected and cherished. We see from this that Kenny submerged Levi into a world of brutal violence, and that the men Levi was surrounded by reflected that same, brutal violence, and in the end, Levi was left only with the impression and belief about himself that he was an engine of destruction and death. Even the single, good memory he has of his mother is sullied as her cup shatters on the floor, serving only to reinforce for Levi the horrific nature of his own strength.

Ugh, yeah, I'm gonna' get into this more once we have a complete translation. But this is brutal, brutal stuff.

Sold on the idea that tea is an intrinsic part of Levi's love language. If he makes you a cup it's significant. If you go out of your way to make him a cup just the way he likes it.. well he might just fall head over heels.

People who think Levi is insensitive and selfish, fuck off, okay? Think (if you have something to think about) and analyse the character's story before you draw a conclusion about him. Levi Ackerman is strong mentally and physically. All the negativity in his direction is absolutely undeserved and unfounded. He experienced a lot, but remained strong and human.

Levi deserves peace, happiness, love and warmth, but not judgement and all the dirt that brainless people throw at him.

(Basically the guy is implying that the punishment is a fate worse than death. That he's a sort of MOB and his "bros" would stuck Levi in a place and let the worms eat him up, bit by bit while he's alive)

Dude: I won't let that happen, I'm the only one that can save you. So do you understand? You shouldn't do this sort of things that will make your deseased mom worry for you. You don't want to do it, right?

Levi: I'm not sure about this but if it's Kenny, he will never let you go so lightly.
