Hey all! This is @shortakiweek welcoming back old fans and hopefully greeting some new blood as well. As some of you may know, in 2016 and 2017 we had two super successful Shortaki weeks full of gorgeous art and fic from fans like yourself. Unfortunately, 2018 and 2019 fell by the wayside as a side effect of real life business, but we are once again back!
Round 3 of Shortaki Week will be held from July 26th - August 2nd 2020! It’s our week long festival designed to celebrate Helga/Arnold by inspiring some gorgeous new fanworks in our beloved community!
Participating is easy! Simply choose a prompt, create something for said prompt, and post your creation to tumblr (using the #shortakiweek tag (make sure it’s included in the first 5 tags!)) on the day designated to the prompt. Creators can choose as many prompts and submit as many works as they’d like! There are absolutely no limitations here! Once your work(s) have been posted/cross-posted to tumblr they’ll be re-blogged to our community!

Nice!! Gonna check it out!
If any of my fellow MariaxAlucard fans/shippers are looking for something to read I'd like to recommend The All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness.
It's a Supernatural/Urban fantasy trilogy and 1 standalone which focuses on a witch called Diana Bishop who is trying to live asa regular human as her parents were murdered because of their powers.
She's a Doctorwho studies the history of science and alchemy and is working and living at Oxford University when she unintentionally finds a book that holds the key to the survival of the 3 races of supernatural beings.
After this discovery she meets Professor Matthew De Clairmont, 1500 year old vampire who also works at Oxford who tries to protect her from all the other supernatural beings who are now watching and following in the hope that she finds the book again.
While she'd resistant to his efforts in the beginning Diana very quickly finds herself being drawn to and trusting him and as they fall on love they set off a chain of events that will change their world forever.
It could make for a great Maricard/Maria/Alucard au fic.
Other details:
Interesting lore.
Scientific studies of supernatural beings by supernatural beings in order to discover their origins and a solution to their current crisis.
Diana is incredibly powerful.
Both characters are in their 30s ( or in Matthew's case appear to be)
Sexy and passionate love scenes.
The author is a former academic so the trilogy is filled with alot of indepth and complex scientific and historical concepts, theories etc.
Magical creatures.
A great found family story.
It does have a tv show, the first season came out in 2018 and I believe they started filming season 2 at the end of last year.

YES, to all of these points.
Plus, the conflict when Alucard tells her that Richter is "the lord of the castle"
And the battle against Maria and Alucard
Things I'd like to see explored about Maria Renard if/when she appears in the show
How losing her parents at 12 has affected her and how she approaches her relationships with other people after their deaths. I imagine that the fear of losing more people that she cares about drives alot of her actions and explains why 1) she doesn't give up when she tries to find Richter and 2) Her decision to run after Alucard after they defeat Shaft. She can't bear to lose another loved one so she rushes after him to stop him from disappearing from the world and her life.
Does she have feelings of inadequacy or believe that she is weak because despite having incredible magical abilities she is unable to protect the ones that she loves most from harm?
Her relationship with Richter.
Her relationship with Annette.
Her relationship with Alucard and how it changes after the events of SOTN. Especially when you consider that they:
1) Have both experienced the loss of their parents through incredibly tragic events.
2) Have both experienced great saddness and loneliness.
3) Alucard, the son of a man linked to darkness and hell has a love interest, Maria, who is linked to the heavens through her Celestial/heavenly beasts.
Some more lore and information about her powers, especially her power to summon the Celestial or Heavenly Beasts. How and Why does she have this power? Are there any limitations? If so what are they? Is this a power she inherited from one of her parents or does she somehow fit a certain set of requirements? How rare is this ability? These powers appear to have some connection or link to her emotions so how does this affect her? This may sound cheesy but could love/falling in love affect her powers? If Alucard was in mortal peril would Maria's fear somehow affect her summoning ability or the beasts themselves? Where do these beasts come from? Since they have celestial or heavenly in their name does this mean they contain or possess some kind of divine power or light magic?
Her relationship with Shaft, the main villain of Rondo and SOTN. He's responsible for the death of her parents, kidnapped her so that she could be used as a sacrifice in order to resurrect Dracula, awakened (gross) her ability to summon the beasts, kidnapped and controlled her brother and who knows what else. I want to see her fight him and at least help kill him.
