I’ve been seeing like a lately in the Gruvia hashtag some posts about the Graylu fans; and I kinda think rn we are kinda wasting our energy interacting with them.
We know Gruvia is cannon. There is like a mountain of proof that it was Hiro’s choice and it is a fact that Gray loves Juvia.
What Graylu fans write about Gruvia and their ship is never gonna stop, and I feel like it’s a waste of time gawking at them.
I think the Gruvia hashtag should be filled with love and stuff 💙 it would be cool if we just didn’t acknowledge them so it doesn’t stress us out 😅
I’m sorry but I’ll never get tired of Gray constantly having to face Juvia illusions in battle, I fucking FEED off it. Literally full blown proof that Juvia is this man’s biggest “weakness” (I say in quotes because I reality together they are stronger) because he really does love and cherish her 😤💞 And it’s the only other way to get Gruvia content while they are on the quest and I’ll never be mad at it.
Besides it always exposes something about Gray when Juvia is somehow involved in a battle 🤭
Literally July-September is prime Gruvia content shown 🤓📈📊
Okay soooo… Gray and Juvia’s daughter concept art dropped annnd omg. The head cannons are just overflowing.
Like honestly Gray and Juvia having more than one kid is very on brand for them. We’ve seen in cannon that Gray reeeeally wants to be a father (especially with Juvia’s children ) and Juvia herself would not oppose having another kid.
Gray being absolutely feral for fatherhood is my favorite head cannon/cannon. We saw him being protective with Edo Greige which wasn’t even his actual kid. Imagine how attached and protective Gray would be with a DAUGHTER. I wonder if he would name her after Ur 🤔.
Greige definitely would be a Mama’s Boy. And the Daughter would definitely be a Daddy’s Girl. Nobody can change my mind.
Gray would never let a guy near his daughter. He would definitely scare them off every chance he could get, but Juvia would definitely encourage any crush she might have. I can see Juvia definitely being an instigator in both her kids love lives. Gray would of course not want Juvia getting in the middle of things; but he would get testy when Juvia would push Greige towards Nasha because of course. But he would get real heated when Juvia would encourage their daughter to pursue boys. Definitely doesn’t want to let go of his little girl no matter what age.
OKAY. GRAY HAVING JUVIA BRAIN-ROT ISN’T EVEN A JOKE ANYMORE.
I might have Gruvia fever but I just feel like this whole page says a lot (I mean like every time Gray thinks of Juvia says a lot) about his perspective.
I just love that literally every time he thinks of Juvia it’s her always saying his name with such love or just expressing her affection 😭
I could analyze every memory.
AND I WILL
Memory 1#
Juvia calling out to him with her aura; a classic
Definitely a core memory for him. Personally I like to think all those hearts a sparkles is what he see when she does that. But I know it’s just Juvia being Juvia
Memory 2#
Juvia calling out his name while hugging him; I think it’s safe to say this is pre-100 year quest. So he’s not as comfortable with affection as he is now. We’ve seen him being able to publicly accept and reciprocate affection for Juvia; so I think this is all he has to recall when she’s giving him physical affection.
Memory 3#
Again Juvia calling out to Gray, this time she is chasing after him.
(Honestly gives me Pucca and Garu vibes)
Definitely pre-100 years quest again. While it can be spun as a negative association with Gray running away; it might be a stretch for me to say but I think this frames a trait that he loves about her.
And I say this because it what makes Juvia— well Juvia. Her shameless expression of affection. Something that has always stayed in my head was Gray seeing Juvia when she was taken over by the white witch.
It’s her lack of reaction to Gray telling her that he is happy to see her (with the implacation of missing her). He knew something was up. He knows her. In fact while Juvia gushed and all; it was never really 100%. And it bothered him.
That’s also how Gray wasn’t affected by the snow doll. Because it’s couldn’t properly replicate how she shows affection. Gray has come to love Juvia as whole of who she is.
Memory 4#
Juvia with her classic love rival line. There isn’t like anything specific I can go into detail. It’s just a prominentpart of Juvia’s comedic character lmao but that just goes with my previous memory analysis with it just Juvia being Juvia.
Can’t lie though Juvia’s Love Rival antics do come in handy at times like with Briar, Francoise, and Catelyn.
Memory 5#
Honestly my favorite.
She is simply just saying his name. And it’s just occupying his brain. He’s obsessed 🪄☕️
I feel like they were all an accumulation Juvia antics to result in just this final one. Her. It’s all just her. If that makes any sense
All of what Juvia is just takes up in his mind about her. Which I just absolutely adore.
Also to add
When the “weak bond” thing happened and he turned into himself got me so sad for a sec because I was like “noooo gray 😭 you’re a strong good boy” but it was a set up for a friendship quip which was sweet. But man like not even Happy 😬 like come on. Nothing like Gray sad boy hours huh.
Anyway back to waiting 6 more months for another Gruvia moment
I would love to see Gray do a “Love” attack or something. You know “Wings of Love” and whatnot. And I’m not just talking about him in Juvia’s body.
I’m talking about Gray naming a “love” ice attack for Juvia. Like “Ice Make: Heart Piercer” or “Ice Make: Icy Love Storm” or something. I know it would never be a cannon move because Gray isn’t that type of guy no matter how obsessed he is about Juvia.
But if anything it’s a nice headcanon to think about. Like if this villain is attacking Gray and Juvia but he won’t stop hitting on her and bugging him to drop Gray for him. Gray’s just getting more annoyed and angry; so he blurts out jealous love attack. He gets embarrassed afterwards of course, but Juvia faints out of disbelief.
So I would believe that Gray thought he wasn’t as kind or considerate to Juvia as he should’ve been. He never took her feelings seriously and genuinely because it was so over the top. (Of Course, you don’t owe anyone you’re feelings) But Gray really did care for Juvia in some way he just never could express it.
He was never a feelings guy, he had a hard time being emotional in front of others. Even his closest friends. He felt like that showing emotion was weak and uncool. But as Fairy Tail went on he allowed himself to be vulnerable around Juvia (that was when his father was set free from the necromancer); that was kinda like the first time we saw Gray allow himself to break down in front of someone.
The kicker is that when Juvia dies sacrificing herself to make sure Gray would survive (by secretly learning a blood transfusion spell) His life with her flashed before his eyes. He even said in the Tartarus Arc that he would give her a proper answer to her feelings when this big battle was over, but he never got too. Gray quite literally said “I promise I’ll take your feelings more seriously this time”.
That moment probably (and most likely) kinda traumatized Gray because all the family he had was dead and one of them died sacrificing themselves for him; now Juvia another person he did love and that had meaning in his life is now dying so he can live. But then he got that second chance when Wendy saved her from the grips of death.
So now he wants to be strong enough to make sure that Juvia doesn’t ever have to make that sacrifice again. And strong enough to love Juvia as bluntly as she loves him. Gray could have played it easy and just not do anything and confirm his feelings for her because Juvia would love him no matter what. But that’s the thing it wouldn’t feel right to him if he did because he feels like Juvia deserves better than that.
And I think that’s the beauty of love you know. Wanting to be the best person for the one you love because they are worth it; and it just seems that Gray and Juvia just want to make each other happy.
Not one of my favorite ships, but I like Gruvia, so this isn't anti Gruvia. It's a nice ship with a lot of potential and I also think the body swap battle is fun. The only thing I didn't understand about the 100yq and I still don't understand is: why should Gray become a better man for Juvia? Like, it doesn't make sense to me, I understand Jellal wanting to be a better man for Erza after what he did, but Gray never did anything wrong, right? No hate, I just want to understand if I missed something :)
