Attention: Natalie Ward has been safely returned.
After two weeks of captivity, Natalie has been returned to her proper place. She is now home and recovering from this stressful ordeal. Her condition is as good as can be expected and will be continuously monitored to ensure that she is able to recuperate.
No word has been heard from the Government after her rescue. This cowardly act will not go unanswered by the great people of New York. These type of terroristic acts have no place in this new world.

Dear Residents
We know that the last year has dealt us all many hardships but we have been able to overcome together. As a thank you we wanted to do something special and so for the last few months I’ve been working on recovering something we all lost in the blackout, music. From here on out every song recorded and many that may have never been made public will now be at your fingertips. Not only will it be restored to our clubs, bars, and restaurants; it will all be available through your tablets so that you can listen at any time. For thousands of years and across cultures this time of year has been about celebrating together and giving to others. We hope you enjoy this gift to you.

Operation Logistical Nightmare
Original forces are ordered to follow the Ariqun to the rally point. Once there they will be sent out in small groups to ambush the convoy. Remember to wait for the trucks to be stopped completely before breaking cover to attach the explosives. After everyone is clear the devices will be activated and everyone has minutes to return to the rally point. Good luck and use your common sense.

Private Message to Originals
In an effort to control the rest of the population, food available in the automats will be laced with substances designed to make the populace more malleable. As long term exposure hasn’t been determined, please direct the Second Generation and more valuable humans away from these food items without bringing it to their attention. Everything made in our restaurants is free of unnecessary additives.
Also the Resistance has been delivered a direct blow through their own water supply. Their connection to the former human government has made the impact not as costly as we would have hoped, but we are hopefully that sabotages through our plant in their organization will continue to be felt.
Efforts in sterilization are also being explored. Population control is something we all share as a concern. The main problem is allowing humans that will spread our message to continue on while snuffing out less desirable traits in their species. Small groups have been exposed to what we hope is the solution to their astronomical population growth. Updates will follow.

Blocking Training
Vincent/Alex: Vincent waited until every one of his Second Generation that was ready to train showed up to the warehouse. With group training he was going to need a place larger and less valuable than the Viceroy. Blocking training could end up a little messy on this scale. Once the group had gathered, Vincent focused his mind and sent out a small push to the trainees to ensure their loyalty to himself, Damon and Nick first, followed by Adriana and Jordan then the rest of their species. Originals like Alex and Natalie, that had received this push in the past, had proven to be loyal assets to their kind while allowing Ryan and Isaac to go without it had only caused problems for him. It had been a calculated risk but it showed him that he could not leave it up to fate. The push was simple, something that not a single one of them would detect, and left their loyalty to their cause unquestioned. It would nudge them in the right direction when a time arose that their loyalty must be proven. Clearing his throat, Vincent stepped forward. "We can begin once everyone has settled down."
Philip came to the warehouse on time as usual. The fact that this was being held in the warehouse was new, but as he saw all the members gathered, he understood why. Unaware of what Vincent had done to him , he simply waited for it all to start. He knew that this one would be tough, as Vincent nor Damon were leaving any room for anything but work. He preferred this, the discipline. He was not out to gain blocking just to be fancy, he wanted to learn it in order to master more power on his small scale. His head cocked to where Vincent was standing as he spoke and nodded. Let the games begin as they said.
Ivan: He knew this blocking would only benefit his training; his life as a Second Generation. Because of this, Ivan made his way into the warehouse with his hands in his pockets. He stood there, looking towards Vincent and felt a calm over him, even a prideful moment inside of himself that he hadn't felt. Still, it was subtle, the push that Vincent gave, and Ivan only passed it on as to what Jack had told him before: feeling better about his ability and what their new world would bring them.
Damon: Damon was hungover and generally annoyed, but he knew how important this could be especially for the ones he took out on patrol. If they weren't able to block a push it put everyone in danger. After they all received the treatment Alex had that had proved so effective he got to his feet and stretched. He watched everyone settle down and moved to the center of the room yawning.
Zach/Nick: Nick hung back and to the side from where Vincent commanded the room. Unlike the Smiths, blocking wasn't a specialty Nick taught but an extra pair of eyes never hurt to manage a group this large. Watching as the Second Generation began to settle, he smiled briefly and tucked his hands into his pockets. This should definitely make for fascinating observations.
Natalie saved herself that day and didn't go to the gym in the afternoon. She knew yet another group training was in motion and that she needed all of the mental strength she had. She had already unlocked the blocking and was getting better at it, but one could never be certain. She wanted to see how would it work in such a large group setting, and if she could handle that pressure. Testing her limits was always a good call in her books. She tied her hair into a pony tail as she entered the warehouse, her eyes observing the group that had gathered, nodding once to their 'hosts' and then took a spot somewhere in the middle.
Willa: Willa knew first-hand what powers like her own pushing could do, and she had no intentions to fall victim for it. She met the others in the warehouse, being on her toes, feeling one hundred percent ready to learn blocking. Brushing hair from her face she smiled to the ones she knew, stretching her limbs as she moved, and feeling ready for anything.
Vincent/Alex: Alex decided to stand off to the side. His patrols had made him miss the physical training a few weeks back but he was ready to lend a hand if he needed to today. He nodded to Nick as he took a spot along the wall near him.
Ivan: Watching as Natalie walked in, Ivan gave a small wave and a smile in greeting before nodding to Alex and Philip. Seeing Willa walk in, he gave a smile to her as well. His attention went to the two main Originals, and someone he didn't recognize. He waited for further instructions, of course, and kept his hands in his pockets.
Zach/Nick: After missing training with his squad, Zach had made it a point to come to the blocking session even if it wasn't a skill he could learn. But seeing mostly people he knew killed the sense of unease and he smiled as he came to stand by Natalie. Catching Ivan's eye, he made sure to grin and nod in greeting.
Ivan: Ivan smiled small to Zach, giving a nod in respect and greeting before his gaze went back to Vincent and Damon.
Natalie glanced beside her and grinned at Zach, nudging him playfully with her elbow. ''You just can't stay away from action, can you?'' She chuckled, waving to everyone who saluted her and gesturing for Willa and Ivan to come closer, if they wanted.
Philip turned his head to see people come in. "And thus the happy crowd returns" he muttered with a smile. "Smile Damon, you look like a grumpy cat. And I really don't know how you look so hangovered. " Philip commented as he saw the original walk in. He then saw Nick and narrowed his eyes. Walking up to him, he greeted him with a handshake. " Now what are you doing here , old man ?" he asked with a smile.
Damon: Damon ignored Phil and crossed his arms. He wasn't there to play nice. He wanted to see if anyone else had potential for his crew. "Are we going to start soon or are we turning this into a brunch?" He said to his brother.
Ivan: Ivan didn't move closer but he did finally move his attention from the Originals and to her. "Are you excited to work on blocking more? You did great at Jack's session. I'm sure this only benefit and make it stronger."
Zach/Nick: Nick nodded back at Alex before Philip grabbed his attention. Pressing his lips together to hide a smile, Nick raised an eyebrow and then shrugged. "Observing for the most part. Ensuring everyone behaves," he said mildly.
Willa: Willa walked up to Natalie and Zach, standing on the other side of Nat. She smiled at Zach, but stayed quiet. This felt different from her first training, with several people she knew or at least recognised, but she had a feeling Vincent and Damon wouldn’t be as pedagogical as Jack had been.
Zach/Nick: Zach huffed quietly and knocked his foot lightly against hers in retaliation. "Just trying to better myself, Ms. Ward." He teased with a warm grin.
Natalie: Natalie chuckled, nodding at Ivan's question. ''Oh, I'm excited alright. Even more excited that now a lot of our people will have the ability as well. It makes us stronger.'' She said with determination. Glancing at Zach, she beamed. ''Mhmm, as per usual. Zachary Teer, rocking our world.'' She laughed.
Philip hummed. " Ah observing ...I envy you. Don't jest too much at the struggle , even if it suits your face " Philip scoffed and glanced at Damon. "I wonder how he even convinced himself to endure this ..." he stated.
Zach/Nick: Zach grinned at Willa as she joined them, lifting his hand in a small wave before folding his arms across his chest. He shrugged at Natalie, still smiling. "Gotta find some way of making myself useful." He glanced back at the front of the room, trying to get a sense of the two Originals.
Ivan: "It'll definitely make us stronger but it'll also improve our tactics." He finally stepped closer to them, his hands still in his pockets. "Zach, I just realized that this will be the first time you're seeing me in action."
Zach/Nick: "We all do what's necessary to make this a success," Nick said dryly. The look he shot Philip was amused, even if he was keeping his face carefully neutral. "Even when it means putting up with," he tilted his head from side to side, as though mentally juggling his words, "problems."
Natalie: Natalie winked as Willa joined them. ''Hey, you. Looking good.'' She told the girl with a smile, squinting at Ivan and Zach. ''Guys, guys, please get a room.''
Vincent/Alex: "You look like you need a brunch, or at least the bar that goes with it." Vincent lightly smacked Damon's back. "We'll get started soon. Let them get their socializing in. I'm sure none of them will want to bother with anyone once we're done."
Philip cocked an eyebrow. The look he received was enough for him to pinch his lips to not tell him that he was trying too hard to remain neutral. "That is a way of putting it" he spoke and glanced at the others. "Tell me Nick, will this be harder than anything we did ? " he asked. Not that he was scared, he just wanted to have a sense of what he was facing. He only had been on one end of the blocking ability.
Willa: Willa tilted on Natalie playfully, smirking. “Yeah look who’s talking Ward.” She shook her head. “Don’t you have this one in the bag already?”
Zach/Nick: Without dignifying Natalie's comment with a response, he flicked the top of her ear while addressing Ivan. "Are we talking power-wise or...?" He raised an eyebrow. "Because I've seen the princess do her thing." He looked back at Natalie and winked.
Damon: "I was told there would at least be mimosas." Damon smirked. "I should tell you the halls of the Viceroy are in need of a bit of a clean up after last night." He mouthed 'giant slip 'n slide' before rubbing the back of his neck. "It was something."
Natalie: Natalie smiled softly at Willa, nodding. ''I do, but it can't hurt to assist, right? Besides, this is bound to be some show, huh.'' She nodded, feeling that she was bursting with some kind of an adrenaline rush. Looking back at Zach, she continued. ''D'awww, you're flattering me. Ivan's an actor on top of the fact that he's got the same ability. He may or may not be even better than me.'' Natalie nodded, and although being humble was not in her nature, she felt comfortable around these people.
Zach/Nick: Nick hummed under his breath while he considered the question. "I've largely given up trying to predict what individuals will find more challenging, comparatively," he said slowly. "You're methodical, which can be an asset so long as you keep your head as well."
Zach/Nick: Zach's eyebrows all but flew into his hairline and he clutched his chest. "I'm sorry, did you just say someone might be better than you? Are you feeling all right?" He let go of his shirt to try and rest the back of his hand on her forehead like he was checking her temperature. All the while, he was grinning lightly. "He must be pretty good, then. You were dead on."
Natalie: Natalie released a louder chuckle, shaking his head and flicking off Zach's hand from her forehead. ''Don't make me mimic one of your ex girlfriends, Zachary.'' She threatened, but not really.
Philip: Philip licked his lips. "That is a fine way of not really providing me with an answer that satisfy me. If I go loony, do keep me as your patient , I know you'll take good care of me" Philip responded. If anyone in this room, Nick knew him the most, ans Philip valued his advice enough to follow it. Keep his head, there was no reason he wouldn't. It couldn't be worse than his training with Jack.
Zach/Nick: Zach cocked his head to one side, pressing his lips together. "That threat shouldn't be terrifying, but it is. You win this one."
Ivan: Ivan laughed at their bickering, knowing it reminded him of Leona and himself. "Thanks, Natalie." He said, clearing his throat lightly before looking to Zach and mimicking Rachel's voice perfectly. "Zach, are you scared of Natalie? The big firefighter is scared of the dancer?" He cleared his throat once again, looking to Natalie. "Don't worry, Natalie. I'm terrified of you, too."
Zach/Nick: "Of course I would. Can't learn anything if my patients up and die on me," Nick gave a small smile; 'he was joking,' it said, of course he was joking. "And if you don't like my answers, you're more than welcome to try the question on Damon," he said, serene.
Willa: “Now that was strange on a whole new level…” mumbled Willa under her breath as Rachel’s voice left Ivan’s mouth. She shook her head, grinning at her blonde friend, terrifying two grown men.
Natalie: Natalie couldn't do much but just laugh it out again. This, this was exactly what she always wanted -- to be surrounded by people she cared about and had fun with. ''Is it because you can never be as pretty as I am, Ivan?'' She batted her lashes at him.
Zach/Nick: Zach shook his head. "Uh uh, parents and siblings are a no go, Ivan. That's dirty pool." He couldn't help but grin, though. Not only had the voice been perfect, but it Rachel probably would've said the exact same thing to him.
Ivan: "Sorry. I could always use..." Soon enough, he was clearing his throat again and mimicking Leona. "Leona's voice. She's just a peach. I mean, look at her." He posed like Leona would, pretending to flip his hair. "I'm just mad that I can't have the curves and the butt. I'm just as pretty." He said after clearing his throat and changing it to Chris' voice.
Philip: "I already feel better , knowing that. " Philip replied and sighed. "If I learned one thing during my time with your kind, it is to not interrupt a discussion between brothers. " Philip commented. He turned to lean against the wall and observed the younger crowd interacting. Spring was really around the corner.
Zach/Nick: Taking a step back, Zach eyed the pose critically for a moment and then glanced at Natalie. "What do you think? He's right about no curves, but great hair and I've always been a sucker for long legs. Seven out of ten overall?" He looked over at Willa to get her to weigh in too.
Natalie: Natalie shook her head. ''You're not, Ivan, when are you going to accept that and move on?'' She feigned a sympathetic sigh. It didn't take her long to mimic Zach's critical posture and nod. ''I'd say you're right. Seven seems like a fair deal.''
Willa: Willa was still amused by Ivan’s flawless impressions and chuckled as she nodded. “Haven’t actually met his sister, but I think the hair makes up for everything else. I'd give him a nine out of ten.” She grinned, hoping the training would be in the same good spirit, but having a strong feeling it wouldn’t.
Natalie: ''Way too generous.'' Natalie rolled her eyes playfully.
Zach/Nick: "Wonderful, my goal is to be a voice of calm and reassurance," Nick said smoothly and without a hint of irony creeping in. Cocking his head, he smiled more broadly. "See? A spark of self preservation. You'll do just fine." He followed Philip's gaze to where the children were playing and chuckled.
Zach/Nick: Zach nodded solemnly. "Pretty sure he'd need a better ass to get over an eight. I'm just saying."
Ivan: "I'll agree with Zach." Ivan said in his own voice, laughing in good humor before clapping Zach gently on the shoulder. "I'd consider myself a seven, too."
Natalie: ''Poor Ivan, everyone's objectifying him now.''
Zach/Nick: "I think we just successfully mimicked Mean Girls. Which I never saw." Zach grinned and gently bumped his shoulder against Ivan's. "But it's cool. You've got a great personality."
Ivan: "I don't mind being objectified at the moment around you guys." He said with a laugh, looking to Zach and bumping his shoulder back with his own. "Yeah, great personality. That's definitely what I go for in good qualities when it comes to myself. You've got one, too, despite your brick wall of a body."
Natalie: ''Pffft.'' Natalie voiced herself, shaking her head. ''You definitely saw Mean Girls, we all know it.''
Zach/Nick: Zach sniffed, lifting his chin. "I have no idea what you're talking about." He shook his head a little. "I eat my body weight in pasta and spent years hauling twice that weight around a track twice a day. It adds up."
Ivan: "Of course it does, in muscle. But you can't deny the fact that you have a brick wall of a body. It's huge. I remember running into you once when you were at Rachel's and I nearly shit myself."
Natalie: ''Mhmm.'' Natalie smiled, shaking her head, turning to Willa. ''Do you feel testosterone in the air? It's in the form of an ego... or a few of those.'' She chuckled.
Zach/Nick: Zach laughed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Sorry?" At the time, it'd been what he wanted but in retrospect... well, he shrugged. "Feeling neglected, princess?"
Willa: “It smells like barbeque and metal.” Willa grinned at Natalie. “Wonderful."
Natalie: ''Like you could ever neglect me.'' Natalie commented, shrugging with a soft chuckle. ''Right?'' She laughed with Willa.
Vincent/Alex: "I'm a little hurt that I wasn't invited." Vincent shook his head and cleared his throat once more. "Alright. Social hour is over. Let's get down to business."
Ivan: "No, it's cool, man. We're okay." He said, smirking a bit and nodding. Looking to Natalie, he smiled and then did the same to Willa. "Metal and Barbecue? Nah. I'm more of a taco and mojito kind of guy."
Ivan: When hearing Vincent's voice, Ivan shut his mouth quick and looked to Vincent head on.
Zach/Nick: Zach rolled his eyes, but squeezed Natalie's shoulder briefly. Looking to Vincent, Zach took a deep breath and squared his shoulders. Here they go.
Natalie: Her comment got acknowledged, she felt it on her shoulder and smiled at him once again, before focusing on the new turn of events. They were starting.
Damon: Damon snorted and watched the children pull themselves together.
Philip: "You are a Saint Nick. " Philip spoke and rolled his eyes at the youngsters behavior. "Here we go" he spoke and left his spot next to Nick to join the crowd and wait for instructions.
Vincent/Alex: "Blocking is by far the most useful defenses you will have from others like yourselves. With that said it is also one of the most difficult powers to achieve." Vincent began to slowly walk around the group. "For some of you it will come easy, others it will be more difficult. How hard it is to unlock is up to you and your ability to focus your mind when under pressure."
Damon: "Keep in mind that for the majority of time you will be using this ability under extreme stress." He stayed in front of the group as his brother circled. "It could very well save your life one day, but only if you put in the work now."
Natalie: Natalie shifted her weight from one leg to another, taking in the words like a sponge. Damon was a little surprise; she was pretty sure she's never seen him in this mode before.
Ivan: Ivan took in the information like he did everything else that people told him, his eyes and posture never straying or fixating on one object as if he were zoning out. He kept his focus, his posture tall with his hands clasped behind his back.
Philip listened carefully to the words spoken. It was what he was thinking, now was the hour of truth, just how easy would it come to him. He had prepared himself for it, but would it be enough, that was another question.
Vincent/Alex: "Today you will get mad, you will get injured and you will not have full control of yourselves. Even after you unlock your ability you will still not be able to block everything that is thrown at you. It is the only way to learn." Vincent stopped when he got back to Damon's side. "If you're not prepared for that then step aside now."
Ivan: Ivan stood where he was, not budging at all. He wanted to do this, to show he could be a great asset to the Original's cost.
Willa: Willa nodded, standing still. She wanted to be able to defend herself, whatever the pain.
Philip did not move. His presence here was his choice to finally unlock this ability, and he rarely came back on his choices.
Zach/Nick: Zach couldn't help the brief stab of regret that he'd never be able to gain the skill, but he could help the other. It was enough to settle him in place.
Finn: Finn remained where he had been standing, knowing this was something that he wanted and needed to learn even if it would hurt in the process.
Zach/Nick: Straightening from his post against the wall, Nick kept slightly back from the other Originals. Best to let the trainees focus on them and see how they held up to surprise.
Vincent/Alex: Vincent nodded his head when no one moved and raised both of his hands. Lifting the Second Generation up two feet off of the ground.
Philip felt himself leave the ground. His first instincts were to paddle in the air, mostly to find a sense of balance. Being a flying monkey had ended poorly for him last time, but Vincent wouldn't kill them, hopefully. So he progressively stilled, just adjusting to the floating as if he was floating in water. Here and then , still having that reflex of catching himself.
Ivan joined the chat 25 hours ago
Damon: "Come here Zachary." He beckoned the man forward and positioned Zach so he was standing next to them and facing the group. "You'll be learning to distinguish between powers that can hurt you and ones that can't. You can only block one at a time, so choose wisely. And you can't block him." He slapped Zach on the chest before levitating up and building his charge.
Finn: He had tried to prepare himself for anything to happen, though he hadn't expected to be lifted in the air. His arms moved up and to the side, instinctively trying to find some balance as he floated in the air. The longer he remained air born, the more used to it he became, causing his arms to lower slightly as he waited for what would happen next.
Zach/Nick: Zach's hand shot out toward Natalie on instinct before his brain caught up to what was happening. Blocking training. Safe. Probably. He sighed, but left her floating with a last backward glance before reaching Damon.
Willa: Willa found herself wondering if this was what flying felt like, enjoying floating a bit too much. She spread her arms, readying herself to meet the ground again, keeping in mind tha limbs could be broken.
Zach/Nick: Flexing his fingers at his side, Zach began to gather small tendrils of breeze around his palms. It was hardly enough to ruffle a napkin but he tilted his head to watch Damon and Vincent for a signal to change that.
Ivan: As soon as Ivan was lifted off of the ground, his eyes went wide and he looked around. What the hell? Maybe this was to add to the pressure? Ivan had yet to endure levitation and here it was. He held his hands out, his feet trying to gain balance. 'It's like being on the wires, Ivan. Just keep yourself still. Don't try to move.' He told himself mentally, his arms slowly pulling back as he tried to gain his posture but his expression of shock showed how surprised and nervous he was.
Natalie: Natalie merged her lips as they were lifted up in the air, catching what Zach did for a second before Damon spoke again. Overall, she didn't like how it felt to be floating in the air, probably because of the lack of control, but she succumbed.
Zach/Nick: Feet on the ground, Nick studied the expressions each of the Second Generation wore. Everything from obvious nerves to cautious pleasure seemed to exist and he picked out a couple likely subjects for a push, one way or another.
Vincent/Alex: Vincent spoke directly to Natalie. "As long as you are up to it, you can begin using your power. Try directing it on someone using someone's voice that will stir their emotions."
Vincent/Alex: Vincent sent his telepathy out to all of them this time. Focus on the power that will cause you the most harm and build your defense against that power. He lifted them higher off the ground and nodded to the rest of the group to begin their attacks.
Natalie: Natalie observed the people around her, thinking. She delved into finding a perfect subject, and she knew she wanted to see how would things turn out if she just... ''It's been months, Willa.'' She spoke, turning a little towards the girl, speaking in her father's voice. ''Don't you even care if I am alive?'' She continued.
Damon: "Let them have it." Damon nodded to Zach. "Try not to kill anyone."
Willa: Willa felt how her heart sank in her chest. She faced Natalie, eyes wide. “I…” Shaking her head she tried to focus. “No.” How could she block this? Why had it been so easy to catch her off guard?
Zach/Nick: Zach exhaled slowly and lifted his hands, palms facing the Second Generation as he forced the winds outwards. Mindful of Damon's instruction--not that Zach had any intention of hurting anyone--he kept the winds from spiraling so instead of a full on hurricane the trainees were caught in a squall. It was strong enough to whip back their hair and clothes and sting their eyes.
Philip looked at the different people involved in this. Each one had their skills, and he knew from a fact what Nick would do. He could handle that, but being like this in the air was a handicap, it was making him vulnerable and a fixed target for anything to come to him. He either could focus on each thing thrown at him , or try to get back on the ground and dodge what he could. Blocking Zach was out of the question, so he focused on what was making him prey for now. He took a deep breath and tried to focus on the thought of getting back on the ground, not be a flying sac of potato. The added wind was annoying and distracting since it put him off balance , but he forced himself to somewhat ignore it and get back to his mantra of getting down.
Zach/Nick: Once the wind started, Nick focused on two of his chosen targets--Philip and Ivan. He sent a push to each of them to suggest that the ground was no longer beneath them; the couldn't see it.
Zach/Nick: they*
Natalie: The wind wasn't that big of a deal until it started stinging her eyes. She felt uncomfortable in her own skin, especially with the levitation and she decided to block it. Once she hopped back on the ground, she started circling around Willa, slowly. ''You must truly hate me, is that why you've neglected me?'' She continued speaking in her father's voice.
Ivan: Ivan's eyes stung at the wind but it reminded him of fans blowing at his face during performances back at the Abbey. He looked at Zach for a second, his eyes squinted as he held a hand over his brow to help aide in the wind. But as soon as his eyes focused on Zach, his gaze widened as he saw nothing below him. "What the..." He breathed, his eyes going wide as he felt the wind. No, they were using an ability, he knew it. Which one, though? He was obviously above something or even nothing so if he fell, it wouldn't hurt. Instead, he focused on Zach's wind so he could see finally. 'Focus, Ivan! Focus! There's no real wind. There's a floor before you. It may be a push to see nothing, to believe there was nothing there...but he just saw something not that long ago. He saw the floor. Slowly moving and his hand away, he forced his thoughts on the wind, his eyes closing and he waited until he could feel the air around him slow down.
Ivan: ((There's a floor before you.'))
Damon: Damon sent a surge at Finn. A light shock that would hurt like hell but not do any permanent damage. He moved through the group spinning Willa as he passed by to make her even more disorientated. "Focus on what's the most threatening to you!" He shouted over the winds.
Philip groaned. Of course. Philip closed his eyes. He couldn't fight the suggestion that there was no ground. He knew what a push was, and he knew he could not get that idea out of him unless Nick wanted to. His mentor needed to do better than that to make him lose grip on reality or even what he wanted to do, or make him change his focus . He sent a small push to Nick, as nudge to tell him how much he hated him right now. Since the ground was not an option, he would fall instead of flaoting. Fall instead of floating.
Finn: So Zach controlled air, though that was the least of Finn's concerns at the moment. The fans they had blowing at the Abbey were sometimes stronger than the gust Zach was throwing at them. He saw Damon floating in the air with them, causing him to wonder what he was doing there. Choosing that Original as his primary concern, he started to build his focus, build his defense as best as he could for what Damon could potentially throw at them.
Zach/Nick: Zach grit his teeth as the group began to wince at the winds, but stepped up his power, adding a curve so that any dust or small particles on the floor were now spinning into the wind. It wasn't shrapnel, but it added an extra irritant and incentive to keep their eyes shut, which could only help Natalie's mimic.
Willa: Willa clenched her teeth, she reminded herself that this was Natalie. She liked Natalie. It was empty words, she knew that. But hell if it didn’t hurt her very being. The wind stung her eyes, she felt shivers of guilt coming over her. She could handle physical pain, this was worse. “No!” she hissed. She wanted her to stop, but then she wouldn’t learn. Calm down and focus, that was all she needed to do. Ignore the wind, ignore the emotions. Only, she couldn’t.
Vincent/Alex: Alex pushed himself off of the wall and stepped toward the group on the ground. The floor of the warehouse was littered with pebbles and garbage. Piece by piece he lifted them off the ground and began sending them toward the group in the air slow enough that they wouldn't get too banged up.
Natalie: Natalie felt as if she were inflicting actual pain to someone, something she hasn't done before. This was a major lesson for her, too. Her hands behind her back, she focused on Willa again, circling around her, slowly, as the pebbles started shooting up at the group and Zach's wind increasing. ''Is that so, Willa? You are going to ignore me like you've been ignoring me for months now? Is that the girl I taught you to be?''
Finn: His intuition had proven right and he felt some pride in himself when Damon targeted him with a blast of energy. He tried to pull his focus together, tried to build up a block against the blast of energy. The winds picked up and it felt as if he was being pelted with pebbles and bits of dirt, which only added to the strain he had on his focus. The surge hit him in the shoulder despite his best effort, causing him to let out a gasp and a stinging hiss from the pain, having never been shocked like this before.
Ivan: As soon as the air picked up and dust started to fling into his eyes, Ivan growled lowly and focused on the wind. He saw nothingness still despite the fact that his eyes were closed. He had to keep his focus, to keep his eyes from getting damaged. The dust started to miss his eyes but the wind kept coming...until he felt something hit him in the shoulder, and then his chest. Opening his eyes and looking to what was flying at him, Ivan rubbed at his eyes and let the dust and wind flow at him. Telekinesis, right? That' what was causing rocks and such to fly at him? Focusing his mind on that, to keep the rocks away, he let the sand hit his eyes and could feel the sweat pouring from his hairline. God fucking dammit, why were all of these being flung at him? He could barely see but he focused hard, his body shaking but his anger kept him going.
Zach/Nick: Nick chuckled softly as he felt Philip's push and responded with one of his own to suggest that he was quite happy to be hated and, more to the point, the Originals had littered the ground beneath him with sharp objects. It'd hurt if he fell; it'd hurt so much and if he didn't land right? Well, things happened in training.
Damon: Damon landed back on the ground behind Zach. "Ignore the pain, ignore the anger, and focus on what's the most dangerous." He walked closer to Zach. "More," he said simply to the human. "Divide and conquer. This is about your own survival, nothing else." He sent to the whole group.
Willa: “It’s not like that…” Willa shook her head, getting something hard to her head as well. Now this was just fucking perfect. That someone could guilt trip her to feel this way. No. She relaxed, this was not the way to act. Keep it together. Focus on the wind, words couldn’t put her life in danger. Ignore Natalie.
Zach/Nick: Zach nodded to show that he heard the direction and took a deep breath. Knowing that his power couldn't be blocked, his heart twisted a little but he upped the power until the winds turned into a physical force--enough to shake someone in their shoes and generate its own low-pitched howl.
Vincent/Alex: Vincent kept his focus on keeping the group aloft but pulled back on the strength a little so that they suddenly dropped a foot before going back up higher.
Finn: His own survival, that was something he could focus on. He started to force himself to move past the pain, berating himself that this was not something permanent. There were people in this world, suffering more than he was with his small injury. He forced his frustrations out as well, as best he could. The rocks, pebbles, whatever was being tossed at him, they wouldn't hurt him in the end. He started to rock wildly in the wind, his arms moving out around him once more to regain some kind of balance. Focus Finn, he told himself. A piece of debris nicked his cheek and Finn moved his focus to trying to block all the debris being thrown at him. "Shit," he said aloud as he dropped. His stomach felt like it had left his body and he realized Vincent was adding to their troubles now.
Natalie: Natalie squinted her eyes at Willa. ''No response?'' Willa's father's voice resonated through the winds. ''I am so very disappointed in you. My own daughter.'' She added a hint of disgust and disappointment. She noticed the howling of the wind and glanced at Zach for a second -- he was doing a good job at controlling this and making it do what he wanted, but it didn't go as well for the group. Hell, she was beginning to feel cold herself and was squinting a little at that point. ''What did I do wrong with you, Willa? For you to turn out like this... So weak...''
Ivan: The wind was blowing, it was hard and he could hear the howling but he had to focus, to keep the damned rocks from being flown at him. He long since gave up on the idea of their being nothing on the floor since he didn't care about that. He just wanted to protect his head. What was it! Focusing the block on the telekinesis to his head, he suddenly fell a foot down before being brought right back up. He growled again, his eyes shutting tighter and his hands going to his shirt. He quickly pulled it off and started to wrap it around his nose and mouth to keep the dust out of his air ports.
Philip winced as he was hit by an object. Cocking an eye open , he saw Alex throwing things for a short moment. He put his hand on his forehead to protect his eyes a little. He felt another push. He had no fear of pain, it was a necessary thing if he wanted out of this grip. Wounds could be healed, and they would not let him fall to his death. He swallowed. He would be Alice going down the rabbit hole. He pushed Nick again to tickle him, a friendly joke. His eyes went to Damon, well that sounded familiar. He licked his lips and took the time to think again. Blocking Vincent would take time, they however had not said a word about Alex. Thankfully he didn't have any too heavy lunch as he was offered a ride on an invisible rollercoaster. He took advantage of Alex being focused on throwing things to push him to throw it at Vincent, he had to take his chance , it was either getting through or being blocked.
Zach/Nick: Zach caught Natalie's eye and offered her a tight-lipped smile. He hated the damage he was causing, but it was a necessary evil. Mindful of his own oxygen supply, he let the wind falter for a moment to catch his breath. Then, after letting everyone have a moment of calm, he sent another blast of air that rattled the windows in their panes.
Damon: Damon built his charge again and began sending it at everyone in the group, one at a time. The same voltage as he used on Finn that would cause anyone pain. "Get back to your feet! You're all sitting ducks!" Each Second Gen up in the air received a zap and it would only increase from there.
Ivan: Getting zapped since Ivan could barely see, Ivan grimaced and growled in pain. Jesus fucking Christ! When he got the thought of being a sitting duck, Ivan focused on the levitation, letting pebbles and rocks continue pelting him. He had to fall. There was nothing there but their had to be! Damon told him to get down! Focusing hard on going down to the ground, he felt the hard blast but he kept going, he kept falling and making sure he lit it happen slowly.
Ivan: Soon enough, Ivan's feet got to the ground a bit harder than he expected, his eyes still seeing nothingness below him but he could feel the ground. The wind was still blowing and the rocks were still flying at him. But he was fully on the ground, his usual weight returning. He blocked the levitation! He had to have done so! Looking around slowly and still feeling the particles flying at him, he got down and stood on his feet. He kept his eyes closed while trying to think of what to do now. Turning away from the dust and particles, he opened his eyes slightly despite them watering to clean out the dust.
Finn: "Dammit." Finn growled in his chest, the pain washing over him again as he received another shock. It had hit him in the same shoulder, making the pain seem like worse than before. Breathing through the pain, he continually reminded himself that there was worse pain out there. His eyes followed Damon as he moved around, keeping one arm outstretched to the side to help keep his balance and using his other hand to shade his eyes from the debris. Damon's words reached him and Finn switched his tactics once more; this would be easier if he was on his feet. Looking to Vincent, he concentrated and gathered his focus to block the levitation's hold on him. Still knew to this growing power, Finn didn't realize at that moment that completely blocking the levitation would leave him falling to the ground. He started to fall, torn between excitement over having blocked something and bracing himself for the pain of hitting the ground.
Finn: ((*Still new to this...))
Philip knew he couldn't avoid the blast. He gritted his teeth and his face twisted in pain. He felt his heartbeat get higher and a temporary numbness go through his body. That was a wake up call , so to speak. He focused on getting himself on the ground , he blurred out everything, just focusing on what he had been focusing since the beginning. He found that moment of grace, in which he felt himself getting free from the tangles and fall to the ground. He groaned. "Fuck " he whispered and rolled to the side. He couldn't remain on the ground. So that's what it felt like. Holding his arm, he remain on his knees, now that the levitation was gone, he was fully feeling the power of that wind.
Willa: Willa gasped for air as she got zapped. But there was too much wind. She tried to ignore her father’s voice, but in the back of her head the guilt pained her. She noticed others landing on the ground, deciding to do the same, if she could. She laid all her energy on it, focusing the best she could, and then she found herself rolling over the hard floor. Sore on the side she had landed on she sighed, proud of what she’d done.
Natalie: Natalie smiled a little, making it obvious enough for Willa to see. She did it. She blocked out one of those. Natalie decided it was probably better to give her a break from it mentally, and she turned to Vincent. This was an opportunity to work on her telepathy as well. She focused on him for a few seconds, blocking out everything else, creating that bridge she imagined with Jack. Her mind to his. ''Should I move on to someone else? Finn, for example?'' She didn't know much about him, which made it a greater challenge.
Vincent/Alex: Once the group had all come back to the ground Alex ceased his barrage of dust and debris, not wanting to hit any of the Originals with it.
Sora/Pagru: Sora watched the training unfold stoicly, aware that even the slightest grimace could be - and probably would be - frowned upon by the Smith brothers. She wasn't ready to block yet, but that didn't mean she didn't want to prepare for what was to come. While she couldn't actively take part in the training, she'd come under the pretense of watering and feeding anyone battered and worn during or after the training. Plus, she figured it was good to have a Precog on hand while the Originals were focused on the other Second Gen. She sat cross legged against the far wall, in a relatively safe spot away from the unfortunate pupils.
Finn: Landing hard on the ground, his breath knocked out of him as he landed on his chest, Finn struggled to get to his knees. The wind made it difficult, but Finn continued to do as they told them; focus, focus on your survival. He made it to his knees, ignoring the ache in his shoulder and chest before he started to struggle to his feet.
Vincent/Alex: Vincent held his hand up as a sign to cease all powers. "Stop." He called out and waited for everyone to obey.
Damon: Damon snuffed out his charge and smirked as he watched everyone fall to the ground.
Philip was breathing heavily. He had not moved a bit, but it felt as he had ran a marathon. Feeling something sticky run down his cheek, he whipped it away , he had cut his cheek on a debris probably. Ignoring his aching body out of habit in training he pulled himself up as Vincent spoke. He spotted Damon smirking , he had to watch for that one.
Finn: Trying, but failing to hold back a soft groan of pain, he managed to regain his standing. He looked to the Originals, wiping his face clean of blood and dust with his sleeve, waiting for what they would do next.
Ivan: Ivan took a deep breath, using the side of the shirt that wasn't covered with dust to clean his face and eyes. He looked over, seeing everyone but his eyes were still stinging. God dammit. He held onto his shirt tightly, letting the tears clean his eyes and knew he'd have to flush them out as well as a few cuts in order to keep infection way. Stupid pebbles and rocks and dust...
Sora/Pagru: Pagru stood quietly with, yet still apart from, Vincent and Damon. He approved of their methods, relentless as they were, obviously the enemy would not allow them a respite, nor were they allowed the luxury of time. He wondered if they'd be able to block a push of his, if they'd even see it coming, but didn't deign to ask either of the Smith's. He was disinclined they desired his presence, let alone his help.
Willa: Willa rolled over so she could stand up, and glanced over at the others. She nodded to Natalie, not returning the smile, but showing that she was okay. She was cut up pretty good, but she’d live.
Natalie: Natalie took a deep breath, observing what was going to happen next.
Vincent/Alex: "So, you've all managed a block. Although be careful which one you focus on. The next time the fall could be fatal." Vincent looked around at them, satisfied that no one in the group was injured enough to stop. "One at a time, describe what your block felt like. And then we'll see if you're really ready to move on to the next phase."
Ivan: Hearing Vincent's question, he really didn't know how to answer. All he knew was that it felt like something was stopped before him; a force that lifted away from him but he would struggle as if he was holding a boulder away from a pinky... "It felt like I was keeping a massive weight away from me, as if I were keeping a collapsed elephant from crushing me but only by my pinkies. It felt like I was using all of my strength to keep the most dangerous harm away from me. I'm drenched in sweat, as if I was working out for a whole seventy-two hours straight...so my physical state replicates how the blocking felt to me."
Philip thought about it. " It felt like finding the key knot to a complex entanglement that holds you back to close a door. A weight building up , before it felt like a calm emptiness while being completely focused on that one will to stop. And a will that requires quite the physical and mental strength to be effective enough. " Philip replied after Ivan.
Finn: He took his time to develop his answer, letting others go before him as he examined how he had felt first when he was trying to block Damon and then when he was trying to block Vincent. "It took an immense amount of concentration and force, as if I was literally trying to flick an off switch with only the power of my mind. My mind feels strained, exhausted, because of it and my body feels as if I was trying to lift something several tons."
Willa: Willa nodded, agreeing with the others’ descriptions. “At first, trying to do it felt like running into a wall,” she mused. “But then it’s like you finally found how to run so that you push through it. Like suddenly remember how to do something, and then doing it on instinct.” She stretched her limbs, dusting off her clothes and wiping sweat off her forehead.
Damon: Damon looked over at his brother and broke out into laughter. "Alright, I guess." He made a face knowing that they were far from getting what their goal for this meeting. "What you experienced was nothing compared to what you would be dealing with in a real fight. That was not even..," he looked back at Vincent as he tried to come up with a number, "half of what you'll need to block a full attack from a hybrid. You were reckless in assuming that your suspension was the greatest threat when surges were coming at you from me." Damon reasoned he'd just have to amp up the voltage for the next round.
Finn: Finn knew that he had originally tried to block Damon and his surges, before being distracted by his newer tactic of reaching the ground. He kept silent for now, nodding to show that he was listening and taking in what they were saying.
Vincent/Alex: Vincent walked around them once more but pushed them to keep facing front. "You must learn true focus." With the flick of his wrist he sent small charges at each of them from behind as he passed by them. "You must learn to only think about that one power that could kill you and tune out the pain, tune out everything else." He stopped in front of them once more. "You need to build a wall to keep it out, not try to force it away or turn it off. You have to stop it before it gets to you." He lifted his hand and raised them up once more, this time much higher than the last. "Again!"
Finn: A third charge hit him, though he was thankful this latest one hit him in a different part of his body. He breathed through the pain as they were lifted higher in the air, not feeling as unsure of his position as the first time around. The height was worrisome, but he kept Vincent's and Damon's words repeating through his mind.
Ivan: The charge at his back caused him to seize in pain. Fuck, that hurt more than he thought it would. He thought all of the powers being thrown at him would be dangerous and fatal if someone had the right mindset. As Ivan went back into the air, he felt a sinking feeling in his stomach. God dammit. He hated the stink of failure and it was all over him.
Philip let the words sink in. The coy in Damon's voice made him roll his eyes. That first block came more out of instinct than an actual choice, but it was a way to learn the hard way. He felt the charges hit him, letting it impact before blocking half of the last one as he did what Vincent was explaining. Something not far from what he had experienced. "Here we go again" he whispered to himself as he was lifted from the ground. Good things heights were not a problem for him. Calculating the risk, it was impossible to block levitation this time, he was slightly reckless, but not suicidal.
Willa: Zapped and once again in the air, Willa closed her eyes. She was not supposed to push through the wall. It was supposed to protect her from everything else. It was no use trying to keep from floating, she didn’t want to sprain or dislocate anything. Instead she pictured her wall, waiting.
Natalie: Doing her best to avoid getting zipped, either by accident or otherwise, Natalie carefully approached Finn this time. She had a plan of jumping around one to the other, it kept everyone on their toes and kept her very busy, too. Flashes of his memory delved through her mind and she smiled. ''Burke.'' She spoke, an unknown voice coming from her mouth, a voice of a thug that was known only to the guy. ''You thought you could run off like a lil' bitch that you are?'' She asked rhetorically, and continued. ''You don't give us our money back, we're gonna pull out that pearly teeth of yours, one by one. And then, then we're up for the challenge. Tell me, which hand do you like better? Left or right?''
Natalie: zapped*
Finn: Building his wall, harnessing his focus, that was what he was concentrating on. He had to block the next attack, not just because they were expecting it, but because he wouldn't expect less from himself. That voice, though. Finn immediately forgot what he was doing, his eyes widening with considerable panic as he searched around him for that voice. There was no way he could be here, Finn had dealt with him!
Ivan: With Vincent and Damon's words in mind, Ivan found himself bringing up the wall, trying to force the pain that was both emotional and physical away from him. He'll deal with it later. He pushed that block around himself, trying to decide what to keep away. He knew it would be surging, he just didn't know if he could block more than one person at a time, if all of them would use that ability towards all of them.
Natalie: ''What's the matter, Burke? Are you going to piss your pants now?'' Natalie continued at it, adding a bit of the creepy laughter to it. She was becoming intriguing by this, by what she could do with her voice, the panic she could arise in someone. She has never thought of it in such a way before. She was standing right behind him. ''You didn't answer my fucking question so I'm gonna answer it for you. Break your kneecaps, for starters. Stupid little shit.''
Finn: It was hard to look properly around him as he was suspended up in the air, though he continued to try. No, there was no way that bastard could be in this warehouse of all places. This was a trick, another test, it had to be. Finn had sent that man packing and...Finn finally noticed Natalie behind him, located the source of his voice to her. So it was her. "Shut your mouth." He glared at her, angered that she had picked him to be the next to torment. Angered that she had been able to cause him panic, even a brief moment of it. Breathing hard, reminding himself that all of this was just a ploy, he forced his mind to go back to what he was supposed to be doing. He had to build that wall but he had been distracted. So Finn redoubled his efforts and focused once more.
Vincent/Alex: Alex frowned when he saw how much higher Vincent sent the group up this time. He began with larger pieces of debris from around the warehouse and started flinging them toward the Second Gen in the air. "Remind me to never let my block down around you." He spoke to Natalie when he saw what she was doing them.
Natalie: Natalie almost chuckled out loud before she reminded herself where she was. In all honesty, her own blocking adventure wasn't fun either and she should have probably sympathized with all of them, but it was all about learning, and she was also learning some things about herself that intrigued her. She had to focus harder to answer him in the same manner, creating that bridge in her head, but it still took her a while before she managed to do it, even briefly. ''I'll take that as a compliment of the highest order, then.'' Her focus shifted on another person and she knew she had to step up her game a little because of the fact that Ivan had the same thing as her. It would take more to ruffle his feathers. He seemed busy so she used that chance to sneak up to him when he didn't pay attention and concentrated on him, glimpses of his memories flying past her. ''What did I do wrong now?'' She spoke, making sure that her voice could be interpreted as if he was talking to himself... his own voice when he was younger, much younger, just a boy. Then she figured she could mess him up even more if she got in his head. He needed to believe it was him. ''I don't want to go inside. I don't want to see her. That woman... I'm just a boy. I'm trying but it's never enough.''
Ivan: It was the fact that he was concentrating on the block that caused him to be completely oblivious to what was coming at him on a mental level. The rocks and the levitation were fine. It was that voice. The boy he once was so long ago. He felt his heart slam against his chest as his eyes went wide. "No..." He breathed, his body shaking at the thought of what might come. No, don't do it. His mind was too scattered to see if he could the source. It was his strength, his own fears of his past haunting him and whoever was doing it was taunting him...
Ivan: (his own weakness*))
Natalie: So she had to do more. She squinted, trying to find good pressure points, something to hit him with. Maybe trigger his defense mechanism so he'd be able to block again. ''Ivan!'' She almost screamed, Rachel's voice resonating around him. ''Don't leave me here!'' She went on, realizing it could be more effective if she hit him with everyone he cared about. ''I'm your brother and you haven't bothered to do more and look for me.'' She spoke in Chris' voice, still in the unclear herself what happened to him but there was no time to dwell on it. ''I love you. You are the only family that I know is alive.'' Leona's voice was next. ''How am I going to help keep these people safe if I can't even help myself?'' She finished off in his own voice again, this time his real-time voice.
Ivan: Rachel's voice, and then Chris'? What the fuck? Everything that was being said caused him to shudder in sorrow. It was more failure. It was more sorrow collapsing onto him like an avalanche. Tears were in his eyes, especially after Leona's came into his ears. "No...no!" He called out, shaking his head and holding his hands over his ears. That was when the last part came out, growling loudly in his chest since it was something he had said to himself plenty of times before. "How..." It had to be voice mimic. It had to because none of those people were in the room. Shoving all of his emotions away after wiping his eyes as hard as he could, he tossed his shirt to the ground while pulling that wall up and around him to keep his emotions away and at bay. Without even a second thought, the block was up and he made sure it focused on the ability at hand. He had even seen Natalie as she did it since he was spinning around quickly to see where the source was coming from. He held it there and it was hard but the only way he could tell if it worked is if she tried again.
Natalie: Natalie knew he located her and that he knew it was her, because he was giving her a death glare and she narrowed her eyes at him, wondering if it was enough. She pulled another one of his instances of him when he was younger, perhaps a teenager. ''I don't want--'' And quickly realized she was speaking in her own voice so she cut herself off, releasing a tight lipped smile as she nodded and crossed her arms against her chest. Looks like he managed it well. She glanced at Vincent, wondering if she was to stop or do something else now.
Sora/Pagru: Pagru stepped forward a bit, catching Dagan's eye and inclining his head towards the Second Gen, a silent request. At the other Original's nod, he focused on the Second Gen of his choice, the one called Willa. Pushing. Interesting. Her block was momentarily impressive till he slipped through like an eel, and pushed her to use her power against her little blonde friend.
Ivan: Hearing her voice, he smirked rather proudly but it still held that anger. He hated his childhood, let alone hearing his own childhood voice. God, he hated his past as much as he loathed his own fears. He held the block against her, his eyes scanning the area. Who else could he block? He saw Pagru down there but he saw that the man was looking at Willa. Nipping his bottom lip he looked back to Natalie and dodged out of the way of another flying object.
Vincent/Alex: Vincent watched as he kept the group in the air, impressed with the initiative of those on the ground assisting. He began sending low voltage surges in the air, hitting them sporadically.
Willa: Willa turned in the air to Natalie, staring at her with black eyes. She pushed the blonde, making her feel a great desire to run over and hug Vincent and tell him that ‘everything would be just alright’.
Ivan: As soon as he saw sparks flying, Ivan's eyes focused on the source. Vincent. Those were dangerous, right? The surges had to be because that shock hurt Ivan like a whip. He didn't know what that felt like but he knew it must've hurt that bad. Holding his block up at Vincent, he watched as a surge flew at him but bounced away.
Natalie: Before she could focus on another person, Natalie felt the inexplicable urge to turn towards the Originals. Spotting Vincent again, her chest filled with a desire to go and wrap her arms around him. It was wrong -- she knew it was wrong, but how she felt at that moment felt right. Her legs moved on their own as she tried to wrap her head around it, dead set on her direction as she approached the Original. It was right about that moment that she connected the dots and realized she was being pushed because she let her guard down. She wanted to apologize first but the push was overrode that want and her arms wrapped around Vincent. No. Not only was it embarrassing, it made her feel out of control and control was relevant to her more than anything else. She needed to block out, regardless of the strength of the push. ''Everything would be just alrigh--'' She didn't manage it in time because her voice was soft and comforting, and then she stopped it, glancing up at Vincent a little terrified and very angry. Block up, that was her lesson learned.
Zach/Nick: Watching Natalie come over to hug Vincent, Zach's eyes widened for a brief moment. What the hell? He focused back on the group floating in the air trying to cause the winds directly beneath them to spin violently.
Sora/Pagru: Sora snorted loudly as she watched Natalie wrap her arms around Vincent before she turned the laughter into a hacking cough and grabbed one of the water bottles from beside her.
Ivan: Ivan watched as Natalie went and hugged Vincent, causing him to raise a brow. Okay, that was most definitely a push because he knew Natalie would never just openly hug anyone like that who wasn't close to her. He could feel the wind beneath him spinning and blowing insanely. Looking to Zach, Ivan furrowed his brows and kept his focus on the block towards the surges.
Vincent/Alex: Vincent looked down at the small blonde after she backed away from him. The moment his focus shifted the group dropped about a foot in the air coming down close to Zach's whirlwinds. He raised them back up but kept them close enough to feel the wind below them. "Are you finished?"
Natalie: Natalie looked up at him, embarrassment inevitably overwhelming her for a moment. She quickly nodded, not really explaining her actions because he must have already known. ''I--yes. I'm sorry.'' She released a sigh and shook her head, mostly to herself. She wondered about who was it that pushed her, it could have been anyone really. She was angry she didn't keep her blocking up, but that was not going to happen again.
Willa: Willa gasped, she hadn’t meant to do that. She must have been pushed to push. Scary. The dropping up and down together with Zach’s damn whips of air made her nauseous. How could she block a push? She decided to focus on the surges. Even though Natalie would have her head on a plate for this is she found out that she did it, she couldn’t help to grin.
Rachel: After receiving word about the group training, Rachel walked into the warehouse feeling slightly excited but still nervous. Finally she was going to move on to other abilities - abilities that will most likely prove useful for where they were headed. She smiled as the others’ walked in and milled about, flashing smiles and waving at each person she knew. It was nice to see everyone in one place. There was a sense of camaraderie in the room. They were all a part of one team. As she continued to dwell in her thoughts, she felt a push wash over her and her purpose for being with the Originals has suddenly increased tenfold. She had always thought siding with them was her best chance of survival and keeping others safe. Now, there was no doubt in her mind about it.
Rachel: Rachel turned to the Originals as they relayed their instructions, nodding faintly as they went along. She felt like her father’s navy officers. In a way, they were. They were their soldiers and they were going to be treated as such. She pursed her lips at the turmoil she knew she was going to take from this experience. It was going to be hard, sure, but she had dealt with enough situations to know what she was going to be up against.
Rachel: She straightened herself and readied her mind. “This was going to be extremely different from the training you’ve had so far… You can do this,” she thought to herself. She faltered slightly when Vincent began to move them up to a height. “It’s okay… You’re okay…” Arms outstretched, she tried to keep her balance as she rose higher and higher. Her arms then slowly lowered as she grew relaxed to the feeling of being so high up. Her gaze shifted to the others, eyes trained on the people who were going against them, so to speak. She sensed the wind picking up around them and soon enough, her eyes were stinging and her hair thrashed wildly about her face. There was no way she would be able to block her brother’s power and so, she watched the others carefully, anticipating the attacks they were going to send her way. The yelps sounded in her ears and Rachel couldn’t help but direct her gaze to the people around her. Others were being pushed, some were being zapped, a few were being tortured with voices and god knew what. She swallowed hard. Just then, she sensed a flying object hurling towards her. Unable to move from the space where she was currently floating in, a rock hit her cheek. She gritted her teeth and winced slightly in the pain. “Ow, fuck.” Before she could even hold the side of her face, another object hit her thigh and she let out a cry. Her eyes narrowed at Alex for a moment, though she couldn’t see much. Not with the wind that was blowing violently around her. Rachel willed herself to stay calm, trying hard to tune out the objects that were currently causing bruises all over her body, the howling of the wind and the horrid sounds that were resonating in her ears. She forced herself to focus on the hold Vincent had on her as he levitated them. Before she could even come close to blocking his ability, an electrifying pain shot through her and she cried out in pain. Her fists clenched tightly and her teeth gritted together as the surge went through her. “Concentrate, Teer. Tune out the pain!” Her mind screamed at her. Rachel’s gaze turned sharply to Vincent, concentrating all of her will to his hold on her. Her heart was pounding and sweat was dripping down her face. She searched her mind for the switch – the switch that would flip the walls that would protect her from his ability. She imagined her body slowly descending to the ground, gravity pulling her down. Slowly but surely, she began to descend. As soon as she felt her feet hit the ground, s
Rachel: ***As soon as she felt her feet hit the ground, she let out a heavy sigh. She stood up, hands on her hips, as she tried to regain her breathing. She looked to Vincent and ran her hands through her hair. She nodded faintly as each one went through their descriptions. “It was draining. Looking for the block was the hardest part. It’s like finding the right switch to turn on. Trying to look for the right defense. When you finally find it, you realize you need more energy to even flip it on.” She chuckled softly and shook her head. Listening to what the Originals had to say, she sighed and pursed her lips at the thought. This was going to be much harder than she thought. With a flick of a wrist, Rachel felt herself rise up once more. Her brows furrowed as she readied her mind again. “Build a wall…” Her eyes looked around her for a moment, landing on each of the attackers in turn. Her mind began to analyze the situation. Alex was going to be hurling some things, no doubt. Damon had the surge. Vincent would be levitating them. Zach had control of the wind that she couldn’t block. Natalie had her voice mimicry and if she managed to succeed, she would be able to trigger her emotions and throw her concentration off. The other Originals, two of which she wasn’t familiar with, were simply standing off to the side, which led her to believe that they were pushing the others. Her mind went back to how the others were acting and she shuddered. She really didn’t want to have to deal with that. Which one was going to be the one that could kill her the most? To be safe, she began to build up her wall. Taking in a deep breath, she began to search her mind for the wall that would protect her. Whatever they hit her with, she was going to be ready. All it was going to take was a little bit of force and energy.
Sora/Pagru: Pagru chuckled as the blonde hugged Vincent before turning his eyes back towards the group. He found the 'Enhanced' human's ability intriguing, but that would have to wait for a later time. This time, he looked towards the other blonde. Her block was strong but as with the others, imperfect. He wormed his way in and pushed her to start spilling her feelings about the other people in the room.
Scarlett: Scarlett had been late to the party, only catching the tail end of the Smith brothers' first speech. She'd stayed in the background, lingering in the shadows and watching those that were working on gaining the ability. It didn't surprise her much when the first thing they managed to block was Vincent holding them off the ground, it was uncomfortable to be hanging in the air with no control over your own body, though it did disappoint her ever so slightly. She began circling the room, studying the Second Gens that were back in the air, a small smirk on her lips as she finally picked out a target. She'd been training Rachel, helping her master her own ability and understand more about the others, and it was time to see just how well the girl had been listening. She moved back out of sight before sending wave after wave of heartbreak and despair her way, that gut-wrenching sorrow that told her she had no hope of succeeding, no hope of her own survival, let alone the survival of her loved ones.
Rachel: As Rachel concentrated on building the wall in her mind, a nagging thought entered her brain. "Confess..." Rachel swallowed hard and willed herself to block the push but she had little energy to keep it up. She turned her gaze to Zach. "You're stubborn. Stop acting like you still need to protect me because I am seriously getting tired of it. You smother me too much and I need you to let the whole act go. I'm not a little girl anymore." She swallowed hard, cringing internally at her words. She turned to Ivan. "I’m in love with you but you seriously need to cut your hair because I really don’t like it but I don’t say so because I love you and GOD DAMN IT.” She clamped her hand over her mouth and shook her head. “What the fuck am I saying…” she muttered with furrowed brows. Rachel forced herself to keep her wall up but slowly, she was watching it crumble away as she continued on. She turned to Natalie, eyes widening as the words escaped her mouth. “We may be friends now and you may have wiped your memory away but I still can’t help but hate you slightly for what you did to me back then. You stole Ivan and my brother away from me and I just… FUCK STOP IT.” She shook her head and forced all her energy into blocking the push. “Stop. Stop,” she cried. Her heart raced as she felt the push wither away slightly. However, just as she was about to let out a breath, she felt a wave of sorrow wash over her.
Sora/Pagru: Sora wasn't laughing anymore. She watched Rachel spill her guts to some of the people closest to her and bit her lip. Shit. It didn't seem so bad until she turned to Natalie, and then she cringed. It was cruel, these tactics, but she understood them to a point. If there was any reason to maintain a block, it was to keep your darkest secrets in.
Rachel: “You’ll never save them.” That heartbreaking feeling she had experienced months ago had come back. The same void that had threatened to swallow her whole before had returned. Weak. Pathetic. You’ll always be a little girl. You’ll never save anyone. You don’t know how to. You couldn’t even save your own best friend. Your other friends… They’re gone now. Rachel swallowed hard as she kept her emotions at bay. She had tried so long to keep them away but now, she felt the walls around her heart slowly break down. “I can’t save anyone…” Tears began to sting her eyes and she hastily wiped them away. As she continued to dwell in her pessimistic thoughts, her mind slowly lost hold on the block she was trying to keep up. At the last slip, however, Rachel gritted her teeth. No… someone is just toying with you. Get it together, Teer. She took in another deep breath as she built up her block again, trying hard to tune out the negative thoughts. Her emotions had always been her weakness and she would die if she even let that show again.
Natalie: After an embarrassing episode, Natalie stood aside, maybe even regrouping a little, observing how the others were dealing with everything. All of a sudden, she heard Rachel talk and sighed, but never expected the girl to turn towards her. Natalie wasn't aware that part of her wiping her memories away included Rachel as well. She wasn't told that. For all she knew, Ivan was the only part of it and when Rachel admitted that she couldn't help but still hate her for 'what she did to her', Natalie widened her eyes in obvious shock and couldn't even begin to process the girl's words. Then Rachel seemed on the edge to cry over the things she was saying and Natalie just stared at her, unsure of what was happening, because she didn't remember anything.
Rachel: Fists clenched, Rachel focused on putting up the block, despite the tears that were in her eyes. Emotions raged inside of her, the majority being guilt, sadness and embarrassment. She was going to take a long nap and time to herself after this. She let out a shaky breath and channeled all her energy into blocking the emotions she was currently feeling. She opened her eyes to look at her mentor who had been watching her with interest. It had to be her doing.
Sora/Pagru: Pagru looked over at Natalie before speaking directly into her mind. Do not let it shake you, she is being forced to say these things. Keep working. You already slipped up once, don't let them see you slip twice.
Natalie: There was only one face she did not recognize and that was of the Original she had never seen before. Hearing an unknown voice in her head, she assumed it was him. She was very much aware Rachel was forced to speak this, but this were her honest words and feelings and half of that was unknown to Natalie. She suddenly felt a weight in her chest, and shook her head, trying to refocus with a frown engraved on her forehead. Blocking now, talks later. She kept her block up, strong.
Scarlett: She gave a slight nod, a small swell of pride in her chest as she noticed Rachel fighting to reign in her emotions. She sent one last wave of emotion, of pure unadulterated joy the blonde's way before turning away. If she laughed, the Original would know she needed to help her work harder. In the mean time, she focused her attention on a new target, the pusher she'd met days before. Making her way over to the others, she came to a stop beside Natalie and offered the girl a grin. Work with me, Bird. You mimicking her father seemed to get under her skin, lets see how Willa reacts to dear ol' dad getting hit with the consequences of her work. She sent a push Willa's way, a subtle one that would alter what she saw if she looked towards the two, before slipping into a voice she'd plucked from the girl's memory. A random voice, a violent one that had seemed to cause her discomfort. "Give her up, old man. I know she's here, I saw you talking to her. I really don't want to hurt her, or you, but my buddy over there? He doesn't feel quite as strongly as I do, and I'd hate to see you die on such a nice day."
Natalie: Natalie was appreciative of the fact that her attention was demanded elsewhere again, but once she learned what was it about, she wasn't so delighted anymore. Still, this was a training, a simulation to help everyone strengthen their blocking, so she had to do it. Natalie cleared her throat, mentally putting herself in that place. ''Please,'' Natalie spoke in Willa's father's voice. ''She's just a girl. This is all a misunderstanding.'' The voice almost desperate. ''Don't hurt her. She's everything I've got.''
Rachel: Still keeping her gaze on Scarlett, Rachel kept her hold on the block. If there was one thing she wanted to do out of this training, it was to make people proud. She felt a strong wave of joy hit her way but she kept her block up. She knew better than to give into any emotion. Yet, her lips curved up into a smile, half out of accomplishment and half from the wave that was sent her way. Pressing her lips together, she turned to the rest of the people in the room.
Willa: “No!” Willa’s voice cracked. She stared wide-eyed at Natalie and Scarlett. Her mind traced, getting a clear picture in her head of her father. The guilt of not having found him yet pained her as her emotions ran wild. Her heart sank in her chest, every heartbeat feeling shallow. He could be anywhere, people who wanted to hurt her could have hurt him. Her mouth felt dry, but still she took a deep breath. It was all fake. They were trying to fuck her up. But it was working. She pictured her wall, high and indestructible, hoping it would block their voices.
Scarlett: She could feel her grip on the voice start to falter, a light tremor shaking her hold. Good, the girl was strong and she was fighting. She took a step closer to Natalie, reinforcing the push and tugging harder at the voice. She'd spent thousands of years perfecting her mimicry, she certainly wasn't going to let Willa block her out without a fight. "This misunderstanding has caused more problems than she's worth. Girls like her are a dime a dozen, I'm doing you a favor. Just tell me where she is, and all of this can end."
Natalie: Scarlett was at it ruthlessly, that much was obvious. Natalie had to block out the fact that Willa was her friend and that this needed to be done. She was resisting the block, Natalie was beginning to struggle to maintain her ability and direct it at Willa. But voice mimicry was HER ability and she focused better on it. ''I'll do anything, anything at all. Just don't take her and don't hurt her.''
Philip ¨was not really caring about what was happening around. He was blessed to only have to worry about debris and the surges. It helped to get a hand on how to block that ability. It was like batmington mixed with ping pong for the speed. You had to visualize the thing coming towards you, then throw it away before it hit you. While some surges hit him and made him tense up , he was starting to get them to not hit him more and more. What broke his concentration was the sudden drop and he looked just in time towards Vincent to see him being hugged. He cocked an eyebrow and shook his head , to then go back into his focused state of mind. He was glad that he had previously trained with Jack, to endure more , and do abstraction of what was a happening and b hitting him.
Willa: Willa thought that she noticed a slight change in the voice. Still, the words cut deep. She clenched her teeth. Other than blocking, she had to get rid of this weakness. It was unacceptable that just words, words she knew were improvised, could cause her to lose focus like this. She could not be this weak. Closing her eyes she cleared her mind, away with the image of her father down, weeping on his knees. The only thing there was a wall, and it would protect her if only she could keep calm.
Scarlett: Scarlett felt it when her grip over the thug's voice was lost, a grin on her lips as she patted Natalie on the shoulder and started to move on. Well done, Bird. Keep at it, there are still several other's needing more work. She turned her attention back to those up in the air. She levitated up so she was closer to eye level with them, grinning when she caught sight of the good doctor. They'd spent enough time together lately that his voice was one she knew well. Setting the scene in his mind with a push and sending a slight wave of confusion his way, she settled in to watch her own handiwork; a vision of what the future could be. She pulled on his voice, adding a bit of age and insanity to the tone as she started humming under her breath. "Out of patients, out of tests, out of friends and out of meds. No. NO! You don't get to leave, too. You don't. Not allowed." The older, mad vision of Philip was yelling at a rat, one that had been long dead. "You'll stay, you'll stay until the others come back. They'll come back. They wouldn't leave me behind. They need me, they said so."
Philip blocked another surge when he saw Scarlett. He frowned, yet instead of trying to block her right away, she let her set her scenery. He was not fighting it, yet he blocked the confusion, mostly because in this equation that was the thing that was not serving him. He had been pushed enough in his life, to accept the ideas, Nick had taught him to stay focused on an unchangeable string of reality that allowed him to not fall into inception. Not even trying to. He couldn't help but laugh. "Oh Andrea will feel so jealous of me toying with rats" he commented. " You really think my voice will sound like that in the future, it's kinda sexy ..." he commented. He tilted his head and pushed Scarlett , letting her know that he was replacable, they didn't need him, they tolerated him anyway, and while doing that, he blocked her pushing on him. That was his ability, he knew it on his fingertips to know just what to look for to block it .
Scarlett: Scarlett sighed, not bothering to drop his voice. He could block out her images, but he didn't seem to have quite enough control to stop her voice. "You're ruining my fun, kid. But fine, you don't want me to play nice...." She found herself a support beam to sit on, using her telekinesis to pull a stone from the ground, tossing it from hand to hand as she debated on exactly what she wanted to do next. She was better with the mental stuff, found it more fun, but she had picked up a few tricks over the years. "Catch." She called out after she had already tossed it towards him, the stone practically buzzing with electricity.
Philip smirked. " Are you complaining ? That's so very me. " he licked his lips and observed her get comfortable. It reminded her of Kieran. She was making him wait as well. He did not let the stone out of his side. He had reflexes. He could block, more or less, not for long, but enough to snap out of something, but switching between block and something else was still slow for him. It required concentration to block and maintain it, it required quick adaptation and concentration to be able to survive this. He focused on the electricity , with the little ball of electricity he had been receiving since round two started, he managed to block that, yet when he caught the stone, well , lets say the stone hit him, making him "fly" several meters backwards. He grimaced as his breath was cut short do to that stony punch. "Have you ever considered a baseball carrier ? " he asked rubbing the spot where the stone had hit him, and threw the stone back at her.
Sora/Pagru: Sora shook her head, hearing Phil taunting the Original. He didn't know when to quit. If he kept it up one of the Originals were going to get it in their head to teach him a lesson. She only hoped it wasn't while she was there.
Scarlett: She raised an eyebrow, a small smirk on her lips. "I have, but they won't let me play in the big leagues. Too afraid I'd show up all of their men." She adjusted in her seat, one leg crossed over the other as she again used her telekinesis, this time to pull him back to where he had been. "Are you going to toss it back? You do realize that's how catch is played, right?"
Natalie: Natalie walked over to Sora; she knew the girl just because she was sometimes seeing her around, but she couldn't remember if she really talked to her. She wasn't participating, so she wondered why and quite frankly, was a little curious about her. ''Hello.'' She said, a smile resurfacing on her face. ''Quite a show, huh?'' Especially since Scarlett got involved. There was something about Scarlett that intrigued Natalie. The way she carried herself, hell on heels... possibly a projection of power and strength Natalie herself wanted to become.
Philip: "That's such a shame, you can do it now, have all the home runs, no pun intended " he replied and felt himself being pulled back. " Aren't you a little impatient to make me regret my home run comment" he smiled and threw it back at her.
Sora/Pagru: "Hey." Sora greeted, grinning like she'd been caught with her hand in the cookie jar. "Yeah. It's, ah, kind of intimidating." She chuckled before holding out a water bottle to Natalie. "I've got some snack stuff in my bag. Uhm. For energy or whatever." She burrowed through her bag. "I have turkey sandwiches and ham sandwiches. Protein bars. Granola bars... Oh, and cookies." She admitted, looking up expectantly.
Natalie: ''I'm Natalie.'' She introduced herself, just in case the girl didn't know her. It was a small world and for one reason or another, Natalie heard the girl's name before, although they haven't officially met. ''What's your ability again?'' She accepted the water bottle, only then starting to realize that she was very thirsty and she didn't do half as much as the others that day. Sipping on it, she nodded in appreciation. ''I can't believe you brought all of that,'' She admitted, smiling widely. ''But I'm good for now.'' It didn't feel right to get so refreshed when others could not yet.
Scarlett: "Oh, hun. I've got plenty of time to make you regret it." She caught the stone with ease, charging it again as she continued to toss it from hand to hand. "Ready?" She didn't wait for an answer before she thew it again, several other smaller stones zipping up from behind to hit him before making their way to her hand.
Sora/Pagru: "Sora. Sorry, I'm Sora." The brunette chuckled, realizing she hadn't introduced herself. She held her hand out to shake. "I'm a precog. Only a Beta at the moment. I run the restaurant at the Viceroy right now, so I figured I might as well make myself useful." She laughed before nodding. "Your talent is amazing. I know Ivan can do it, I've seen him do it before. How do you know- I mean, it seems like, you say things that can obviously bug them. How do you know to say that?"
Philip gave her a respectful nod. "I am not expecting any less of you, my dear. " he spoke. He was blocking the energy around the stone thrown at him when he felt the smaller ones starting to hit him. It made him bend forward. He made abstraction of the pain, of it to maintain the block on the more life threatening electricity , yet with his spinning , he got disoriented for a moment, and again couldn't really catch it. It hit his forhead before he caught it between his hand. Getting some balance, he rubbed his forehead with a grimace. He threw the stone back at her.
Natalie: Natalie nodded. ''It's okay. This is all very distracting.'' She smiled, taking another sip. ''A precog, huh? That sounds interesting. I know you're a Beta right now, but like, what do you expect to be able to do in the long run? Once you've mastered it?'' Her gift was also one of the non-active ones in the true sense of that word, but there was wonders she could do with it. ''Huh, you know Ivan, then. Yeah, both of us are only now finding out all the different ways we can put the mimicry to good use.'' She commented. ''Thank you. I get flashes of their memories, not like a person with the ability of course, more like strings to tie myself to and then be able to reproduce something from the person's memory. Took me a while before I got the hang of it.'' She explained.
Vincent/Alex: Vincent lowered his hand and slowly brought the Second Generation back to the ground. "That seemed to go a little better."
Scarlett: She chuckled lightly and kept the stone in hand as she slid off the support beam, making her way over to where Vincent was standing.
Philip reunited with the ground gently this time. he gave Scarlett a smile, then moved his shoulders and rubbed his neck. He would need a drink or two, and a good bath after this for sure. The looked around, just to see the youngster deal with their own experience of it all without a comment, then simply waited for what was to come next.
Natalie: Natalie paid attention once she saw that the group was on the ground, curious as to what else Vincent and the other Originals had in store for them.
Natalie: Natalie paid attention once she saw that the group was on the ground, curious as to what else Vincent and the other Originals had in store for them.
Sora/Pagru: "It is. Um, well, see the fucking future hopefully." She chuckled, rubbing her ear self consciously. "I mean, right now it's all kind of variable, but when I master it, I think I'll have a bit more of a solid grasp on it." She shrugged. "Yeah, I know Ivan a bit. He's...nice." Even when they were finding dead supermodels. "That sound really useful." She said. "I mean, I won't lie, when I first met Ivan I thought it sounded kind of lame, but you guys can do recon sorta things and really make menaces of yourselves."
Natalie: Looking back at Sora, Natalie chuckled. ''I like the sound of that. Maybe then we won't have any losses...'' She sighed a little, wondering if the Originals could see the future as well and how come no one thought of it before. ''Don't worry,'' Natalie continued. ''It does sound lame. At first at least. I didn't think that I'd be able to do more than a solid impression of Beyonce.'' She admitted, shrugging. ''Turns out... I was very wrong.''
Vincent/Alex: Once everyone was down and had gathered their composure, Vincent began to speak again. "I think most of you have now gathered the basics of creating a block. I think it will be safe if you worked on it more on a one by one basis now."
Sora/Pagru: "Holy shit." Sora murmured, her eyes going wide. "Beyonce. You gotta do that for me sometime. I'll cook for you as payment." She snickered before shutting up and glancing towards Vincent as he spoke.
