no offense but some of y'all should really consume more weird media ok some of y'all are ready to clutch your pearls at the mere sight of the slightest offbeat concept in speculative fiction and this can't go on
TLDR: I can't work cuz I'm disabled meaning my trans gf is our family of 3's only income.
To try and help with bills, rent, and other needs I set a goal to try raising through Tumblr. It isn't much, but it's the help I can offer her so that's what I do.
Rn we're falling behind on rent and we get a late fee on the 5th, so if you can help out by sending anything to help us reach the goal before then we'd appreciate it!
having an oc you havent drawn / written about publicly yet that only exist as a concept is so funny. i have special access to this limited edition guy from my brain
yall do realize just because something has been a target of misogynistic criticism, that doesn't make stanning it completely uncritically in response some kind of revolutionary feminist praxis. right.
guy on the bus is literally yelling into his phone and just said "bro I gotta be careful with this $735 money order" like a cartoon character about to get robbed
Fandom "person" trying to decode new information about reality: Erm. Okay. So... What I'm getting here is that Chairman Mao was basically like the Griffin McElroy of the communist party
one moment that really stood out to me in monkey man was when dev patel’s character was training and he took off his shirt and the hijras watching him started hooting and hollering and it was very…it meant very much to me that this film showed them openly showing attraction and desire, without their attraction and desire being portrayed as creepy or predatory or completely written off as a joke. it was just fun and joyful.
I truly believe one of the most important things you can teach a person in school is how to analyze literature and art and movies so you know how to look at a work of art and place it both in its time and ours. To empathize with the artists behind it as they were and not as we are now. To recognize the ways in which humanity has grown or the connective tissue between us and the past. But mostly so I never have to see someone call a movie or its dialogue “cliche” or “stereotypical” when the cliche to which they’re referring was either quite literally invented or at least popularized by the movie they just watched.
