The first image I had when Mr & Mrs Ludwig called about a cake for their 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration was statue Kiss by Brancusi. 50 years of marriage deserves a cake that will reflect the strength of their love. Simple lines that are characteristic to modernism and are at the same time very primal way of carving symbolize longevity of the union. Portion of the cake that appears not to be "chiseled" suggests their story is not finished and offers best wishes for decades to come. Lilly of the Valley turned out to be more intricate to create than I thought. Non of the cutters out in the market would capture essence of it. Few tries later, I decided creating stigma and individual petals is the only way to do it. Result, although not botanically correct, was closer to the nature of the flower-in my humble opinion.
