First off I adore the Spyro Reignited. Just absolutely adore it. Toys for Bob did a fantastic job with the love and respect most remakes do not get.
As much as I love the remakes something about early PS1 era graphic's limited draw distances made each world seem infinite and more mysterious. Your imagination had to fill in the gaps the tech at the time left behind. I kinda miss that at times.

Generally I hate clothes shopping, malls, and pocketbooks.
But today I get pants with all the pockets. Cargo pants, wider jeans with extra large pockets on the side. Pockets pockets pockets.
I dreamt this day would come. Of all the 90's and 00's fashion LADY POCKETS was the best to come from that era. This isn't just nostalgia. It's actual functionality.
Let's never let pockets in women's clothes fall out of fashion again. And REAL pockets. Not those fake ones.

Enjoying games again. Yeah. I don't think I'll be playing another Resident Evil flat anymore. Playing RE4 in VR is just... I never imagined nearly 20yrs ago I'd be actually jumping into that world like this. The cut scenes are a bit awkward but lil past me inside is crying from pure ass joy.

Been away for a bit. 2 weeks at a mental health facility. Praise the state insurance that afforded me a 'good place'. Where I stayed actually had a more than decent art studio we got to go to for 3 or 4 times a week.
I haven't done art in a while. It got tainted by sharing it with the wrong people. Long story. But that little studio opened something I felt that was dead inside for a year. Obviously this thing was the best that came out of my stay. I spent most of the time trying to find sharp enough golf pencils and figuring out how to make Crayola markers look like water color. (there's some neat effects you can pull off in a pinch)

A nearby friend sends his 16yr old to my place to borrow some art supplies she forgot this weekend. Aaaaaand of course the first sketchbook she peeks in has this cursed series I started in spring. Hilariously these exist because of a 3yr argument over O'Keefe with this girl's dad. He's a professor of media arts btw. She knew immediately it was a play on O'Keefe. This was a really fun vent.
Though pulling out the art supplies and talking with a young woman about art inspired me to actually play around with these texture tests. And get my butt on making art again in general.
I'm not going to lie. This year was rough. It left me angry from several directions. I put down the pencil for months. It's time to get excited about creating again. There's a lot of anger that needs to come out. It's been backed up way too long

Ok. Alan Wake II is a bit on the back burner. Getting a little distracted
I'm back to a 2 dog home! How these dogs came into my life or why they were living speratly for 2yrs isn't a happy story. So long story short, I'm delighted to have Penny (floofy) back in my home. Me and Brooke (b/w pit) raised her as a puppy when she was dropped off by my in-laws. (I did not name my dogs). Brooke is kinda an asshole to other dogs. Even her Labrador friend at times. Doesn't bite but domineering behavior. But with Penny...
It's so good to see these two together again like this. Brooke stayed with Penny when I would travel and we did visit once a week. But Brooke has got attachment issues, not the best history in that house though what stressed her is no longer a factor. She just wasn't comfortable there, got jealous and competitive when I gave Penny attention. But here in my calm home they went right back to how they were when they lived consistently with each other. It's a huge relief. Penny settled in immediately. Her breed is built for constant companionship. And her old home can no longer provide that. Even when I leave the house for a long time Brooke is here.
If I can't pull it off or get overwhelmed I ended up in a neighborhood with a weird dog sharing culture. I already have neighbors offering to help or take her part time. But they both dogs have slowed down since 2yrs ago, entertain each other and so far I can handle this.
Welcome home my baby bitch. I missed you ❤️

Oh boy. Gonna admit my head has not been in a good place for a bit and escapism hasn't been very effective. Brains need a break sometimes and Alan Wake II was just what I needed. It's like a soothing bath for my mind. A soothing bath of warm blood and mom knitted sweaters. Remedy is one of the few teams of creatives that's able to balance brutal horror and charmingly stupid this beautifully since Twin Peaks. I mean, look at this fucking bear. It gives me life.
Don't get me started on the stuffed owl. I could probably write a whole dissertation on why that silly thing makes me happy.
Twin Peaks was what helped me pull out of a different funk this summer so there's that. IDK. Just an observation.

First impression. I just woke up as a chubby hairy naked man and I'm delightfully confused.
You have to love how far graphics have come since Alan Wake the first. The moonlight reflecting off this chubby man's ass adds a lot of atmosphere of this opening and I'm not joking.
Edit: Holy shit game was brave enough to include a weenie. Props to Remedy for not chickening out with some strategic branches or someone's odd attempt to preserve modesty with a clip board or similar shit
