#mad max#mmfr#prev tags: 'just boys being friends :)' jhbgfjbgjtrhbjhbt YEah#the scene that always elicits the 'now kiss' or '*handwave*yes yes intricate rituals' comments lol#I watch this movie for the plot *eyes* xcbvjhbff#gifs#seriously though- very intrigued by the whole driver/lancer relationship/dynamic.#how do war boys earn cars/how do they earn their status as 'driver' vs. 'lancer- are they trained? maybe assigned roles...on what basis?etc#or maybe its less formal and drivers are whoever is driving and lancer just your equipped 'lance guy'#cause like Slit was just gonna take his car...maybe cars are hard to access/acquire-#so maybe many dream of being drivers without the capacity-#hence maybe slit's chance was to take the car of someone he knew was on death's door?#like iirc he only drives the razor cola after the driver-apparent gets shot....#sooooooooo#is slit like the underdog of underdogs in the movie- am I gonna end up feeling kinda bad for him after I've thought abut it a bit? lol#Tragedy of Nux#Tragedy of Slit#Tragedy of Warboys#like his arc is partly chasing his own little warboy dreams? which seems less focused on dying and more on improving his status in life#while the Vahalla stuff is obviously a part of their culture-#maybe the focus on the 'dying in service' is more pronounced because Nux is dying- he's motivated to do what he does because#his life is already at its end- I wonder if otherwise- he'd be more self preserving?#pre-dying Nux is a character I'm very intrigued by- just saying- particularly in this society that values toughness#I like to think of Nux as having a bit more edge than I see him often depicted with- his innocent cruelty may be more pronounced-#and the fact Slit backs down from him - which you can read more or less however with what we know- I just wonder ya know???#anyway....as you can see: I'm very normal about them and nothing is wrong with me :)#jhbrjhbtrhjbt

I wanna knoooowwww jsbdhbg#this is one of those things where there are so many great world/character details that are super deliberate but not explained#and so headcanon fodder for days!!#like what's up with his eye? I'll have to overthink it until I find an answer- now do that ad nauseam#getting a clear/perfect reference of it driving me mad...then II wasted/spent time trying to look at#traumatic eye injuries to try to guess what is going on there. learned about a disease where you can end up with multi pupils...#accidentally tag talks about Slit on a post he's hardly in djhbjdbhgjrhbgtj sorry Morsov (sp?)

The worldbuilding detailsss! the aestheticssss- AUGH So!Good!#there's so much interesting world building things in these movies- it just makes you start questioning everything you see djbhjgbr#like are these war paints the war boys wear signs of rank/age/ are they earned/how?#I'd assumed a more personal aesthetic under an umbrella model- but then there's what appear to be the youngest warboys-#which sported only the white paint and no blackened bits-#and then you have those guys that I think of as elite=no white paint and the black in the forehead is mixed with silver...#I want an ridiculously detailed costume book on this....yesterday! hdfhregb#and like maybe Nux/Capable talked about his skillset/exp (bonding/cute) or maybe she could tell by look? //shrugs//#dfhrbg where/what's the book with /all/ the lore?? fjhrbtjg#like!!! in the last image- the one guy that isn't wearing black gloves- has blackened hands#I suppose that could just be in world relative to the handing of the machines- and maybe aesthetically poignant for them#which then- is it the gloves that are actually doing an emulation????#no kira- they're just practical/its design cohesion- you're overthinking things again- OKAY Well I'm gonna be weird about it anyway#sorry this no longer has much to do with this set#uhhh thanks op!!#tldr: I like 'em
