Klaus will always come before Klaroline

The spin-off has a few problems but the lack of Klaroline isn’t one.

Yes, you may make a case about how the KC fans got them the spin-off and ‘kept Klaus alive’ because you really have entitlement issues in this case but I’d give more credit to Joseph Morgan and all the Klaroline in the world would not have helped Klaus if it hadn’t been for the actor who played him. And IIRC, the spin-off was in the works back in season 3 when the Originals’ popularity had peaked (perfect casting, mind-blowing characters, rich potential etc) and when Klaroline wasn’t even close to attaining a canon status. Yes, TVD is a cult show where shipping is everything, and in this regard, the character had definitely benefited from all the attention.

You may also go on about how the reason no one liked Klaus in 4X20 was because he was without Klaroline and he’s not particularly likable outside of his ship. But that is also an erroneous assumption. Not everybody liked him because of Klaroline. There are infact a lot of fans (even the Klaroline fans) who want to see Klaus on his own and are looking forward to it. While I did like him in 4X20 and he was actually in character, he did not come across well in the series preview and in a couple of parts in the backdoor pilot. That was mainly due to some poor dialogue writing and the baby plot premise. Also the fact that the character wasn’t prepped enough in season 4 to launch his own show - none of the Originals were. But there were several moments in which Klaus did come across as the main character onscreen. eeek! That was really heart-warming to see. And when the season starts, we’ll see Rebekah and Elijah in the same light, seeing as their characters didn’t have enough time to themselves in 4X20. I think Rebekah will be the most successful, after Klaus.

I’ve seen people making an argument that since we didn’t see much of Klaus outside of the Klaroline this season, it’s harder to see him without it and they’re not ready so they’re rightfully angry and whatnot. Um..that IS the reason why you should consider that it’s a good idea for the characters to be apart for some time. And it’s not like there were plenty of Klaroline scenes to have gotten used to it. lol. Nobody liked Klaus’ storylines this season - except for 4X09 and 4X13 (it was more a Klaus character arc moment than a Klaroline one) and the Originals’ family dynamics were almost non-existent, aside from the prom episode. And nobody can tell me that they enjoyed Caroline’s character development this season…except that she didn’t have one. Compared to season 2 and 3, the character suffered a regression of sorts. She didn’t even get much out of Klaroline…I don’t want to count that 4X17 moment when Klaus made her feel bad about pinning him down as a ‘terrible person’ earlier when she killed 12 witches at the end of the day and started an apocalypse. I mean, I was cheering, “Go Klaus. Tell it like it is!” and I was glad it was Caroline who had a hand in the third massacre (because the girl needed some killing to do!) but from Caroline’s POV, the jab at her just rubbed me the wrong way. If only it had achieved some realization on her part about how her friends had always been hypocrites, then it’d have been fine.

i think i am going to start blocking people who post constant hate in the originals tag and those who attack people for liking the originals. They are so negative and miserable and i don't want them to bring me down too. They can stay being miserable assholes but they aren't going to stop me from looking forward to the show. 

What a shocker, i write a positive post for the originals and for the originals fans to make us all feel better (despite the haters being assholes) and i get attacked by the anti-originals gang, who just felt the need to reply because boy they couldn't let a pro-originals post not get any anti-originals hate now could they? .... They are such brats, seriously. 

IF PEOPLE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE SPIN- OFF, LET THEM LOOK FORWARD TO IT. IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE SHOW, WELL THEN MOVE ON AND FIND ONE YOU DO LIKE.

Klaus is not amused.

People telling originals fans to be careful what they wish for (as in wanting the spin off), just shut up already. We are more than happy that we are getting a spin off. Five minutes maximum per episode for the originals characters were not enough and we are thankful that the show we wished for was actually given a chance and that is because of how popular the originals became and how big characters they are. Lets say the originals doesn't last more than a season...fine. Then the actors can find other roles and show of their massive talent there. If they were to still stay on tvd, the actors would be wasting their own time because they deserve more.

As a Klaus fan, I would rather Klaus bow out on the originals while being a main character with his own storyline focused on him rather than bow out on tvd where his storyline would revolve around caroline and where he would probably end up dying saving her, only for her to move on in the next episode. Klaus is too big a character to end up being a plot device and that's what he would end up being if he stayed on tvd and that showed towards the end of season 4. 

Also even if the originals were to end after one season, at least we would have got a whole season getting to know our favorite characters more, whereas if they had stayed on the vampire diaries we probably wouldn't have found out anything more about them. It is also a chance for the actors to show of their acting, which could then help them get future big projects. So not everything will be negative even if it were to get cancelled.

Ok I’ve come to the conclusion that the Joseph/Persia haters are all just immature 13 year old Jodice shippers who can’t separate fiction with reality and see that just because on screen characters have feelings for each other doesn’t mean the actors do to. They also don’t seem to understand that...
