So, in regards to anons not liking PTD because it's "not BTS" or whatever, I saw a tiktok that had a very interesting theory: PTD is an "F you!" to the Grammys and the Western music industry. They did all the things the Grammys like: in English, more produced, lot of autotune, written by Ed Sheeran. A lot of people are asking why they're in cowboy outfits when it's not a country song- it's to make it "Western". Antis might see the Grammy appeal and be like "BTS are sellouts", but I think the cowboy outfits give away the pettiness. Like, yes I absolutely think it's an uplifting song, meant to bring joy and hope, but our boys are known for their layers and I cannot wait for them to win a Grammy and give their acceptance speech in Korean.

if you don’t like permission to dance, if it’s just not your thing that’s fine, but you cannot deny that bts isn’t doing all they can to put some joy into the word right now. the song is fun and catchy, they highlight essential workers and children and show everyone having fun, and they ALSO have pretty simple choreography which makes learning it and dancing along so easy, and they included sign language into their choreo like they are doing THE MOST to try and make people happy and bring joy. thanks for coming to my ted talk
