RICHARD PAPEN X READER
BREAKING AWAY FROM HIS USUAL FRIEND GROUP, RICHARD WOULD KNOCK UPON YOUR DORM DOOR FOR COMPANY. Richard would knock upon your dorm door and ask if you felt like getting a drink. He could be frustrated, depressed, lonely, it didn’t matter. Whatever woes he had you cured…along with a healthy amount of alcohol in his system too of course.
Richard had no means to put an act up or long for the picturesque around you. He had no means to impress you — though he tried to. You weren’t pretentious or came from extreme wealth, you got into Hampden purely from your talent and intelligence. He admired that.
Richard wanted you to see the best version of himself yet this lovesick helpless side would come out whenever you were around and it’d infuriate him.
Currently, the both of you were wondering through the snow, stumbling every few moments. You’d just left a local bar, not too expensive and enjoyable. Most students of Hampden went here so the place could become crowded quickly. However, you and Richard had managed to order enough drinks to make your minds go hazy and become a slight blur.
Richard found himself stumbling a few times as he walked, grabbing onto a lamppost for a moment to steady himself.
“Wait, wait.” Richard calls out with a chuckle, holding his head for a moment. When he looks up, Richard can’t help but admire the way you laughed at him. To Richard, you belonged in a museum. The snow dropping onto your coat and falling over you and your smile the way you laughed; the sound erupting from the lips Richard had looked at many times before.
He watched you walk over and take his arm, pulling him along. Richard stopped once more and you sighed.
“Come on, I’m freezing.” You tell him, looking up at the snowy sky.
“Just wait for a second, please.” Richard asks of you, his eyes not tearing from you for a second as your too occupied with your numb fingers to notice his adoring gaze.
Richard stepped closer to you, standing a little taller. You looked to him and your brows furrowed for a moment in confusion.
“Richard? Are you alright?” You ask. Richard had never felt better. He cupped your cheeks, his fingers a tender caress across them. He leaned down and kissed you with every positive loving feeling he could muster.
Everything he felt messaged through a kiss.
For a moment you were stunned, never believing Richard Papen would have the nerve or audacity to express his feelings so strongly. You began to kiss back, your hands beginning to caress the back of his neck and ultimately get his shoulder to relax. Every part of the way you kissed was longing, needy and full of complete tenderness.
He wanted to kiss you until he couldn’t feel his lips anymore, letting them go completely numb. Richard wanted to write poetry for you, to bring you flowers, to tell you how much he loved you, to never be apart from you; everything that confirmed he was deeply in love with you.
For now, all he could do was pull away and mutter the sweet words “I love you.” Against your cold damp lips and bring his own back to them.

What would a date be like with Henry? Would he take you to a restaurant? Would we go back to his after?
A DATE WITH HENRY WINTER
Tumblr media
HENRY WINTER X READER
— As I stated in the previous Henry Winter post similar to this one you’d have to be in the class for him to acknowledge or want to know you. That established it would take a few weeks at most for you to pique his interest.
— He’d ask you out dismissively, he’d probably be reading at the time or studying and ask casually if you’d want to go out with him for dinner. Until you say “yes” he’d remain looking disinterested to keep his ego still intact as if you were asking him to dinner.
— Henry would pick an expensive restaurant definitely, most likely one of his favourites and insist on paying. Unlike Bunny, Henry actually likes you so paying for you doesn’t bother him.
— He’ll show up first; it’s Henry of course he’s organised like that. You probably won’t understand half the meals on the menu and hesitate to ask. Henry would notice and chuckle, finding your confusion amusing before explaining whatever dish you thought you may like and suggesting a few too.
— He’ll ask questions about your life such as where you grew up and how you’re finding Hampden along with your knowledge on Ancient Greek, almost quizzing you on how much you know. Knowledge is impressive to him.
— Henry wouldn’t invite you back to his place on the first date, it’d probably be the third of fourth date before he does that. You’ll go back to his apartment, have a glass of wine together and talk about the gods before things slowly escalate into much more.

HENRY WINTER X READER
LOVING AND SELFLESS WERE NOT TWO WORDS EVER USED TO DESCRIBE A MAN SUCH AS HENRY WINTER. When you entered Julian Morrow’s office, Henry looked at you with an amused look upon his face. Richard had only just recently joined the class, now you? Julian was feeling generous.
His cold gaze followed you to your seat before returning to whatever he was writing in his notebook. With little acknowledgment, Henry only lifted his head with Julian entered; a man he idolised and admired greatly.
Henry straightened his posture, closed his notebook and adjusted his already neat tie. He merely glanced at you.
As the class went on, Henry began to read out a passage from the Iliad.
"Early in the morning the gods of Olympus sent down the breezes, to fill the sails of our ships.” Henry recites, the words imprinted in his mind.
“It symbolises the human spirit.” He says, a knowing grin fighting to grace his lips.
“I disagree.” You speak up, almost regretting doing so as all heads turn towards you; Henry’s much slower than the rest. “It symbolises the life and death. They’re being led to death.”
Henry let’s out a stiff chuckle, completely insincere.
“You’re overlooking the larger symbolic value of the passage, which is the idea of the human spirit overcoming obstacles and adversity. The breezes represent their collective effort and resilience in the face of challenges, not death.”
You furrow your brows and notice Bunny’s eyes widen a little. “You're just trying to force your own interpretation on the passage to fit your narrative. Death and being led to it is a much more nuanced and accurate theme to the passage and it's the very essence of the human condition. It represents the truth about existence.”
Henry shakes his head and his jaw tightens once more. “The passage is a reminder that our collective effort and determination can overcome even the most difficult challenges and that is the core of the human spirit.”
You tear your eyes away from Henry’s for a moment before looking back and continuing to argue. “You see, that's exactly the problem. You keep glossing over death and try to replace it with some positive rhetoric but you can't escape the truth. Death is inevitable, inherent in life and the human spirit must confront it.”
Julian looks impressed, only leading to Henry’s blood boiling more. A hatred began to stir inside of him. Luckily for you it was the end of the class and Julian knew Henry could argue over this for hours.
“I believe both inferences are correct.” Julian attempts to disperse the flame yet there was no shaking Henry’s cold glare.
Henry is the first to leave the office after you’re all dismissed, his strides strong and determined. He pulled out the pack of Lucky Strikes from his breast pocket, dig for his lighter from his coat pocket and lit a cigarette up. He took a deep inhale.
You walked after him, attempting to keep up with Henry’s pace. Despite his leg he moved briskly.“Henry.” You called and his pace slowed before he came to a complete stop, exhaling the smoke from his cigarette. Henry turned around, his height towering over you. It was much easier when you were sat down; you would’ve never thought to speak up earlier if he was standing. “I didn’t mean to aggravate you before, I was just expressing my inference.” You manage to tell him.
“You didn’t aggravate me, your opinion wasn’t vital.” Henry responds simply in a selfish manner.
You couldn’t help but scoff a little. “Well neither was yours.” You say, your sudden distaste for Henry getting the better of you and making your words come out harsh.
Henry’s jaw tightened; a common occurrence that happened whenever your mouth opened you began to realise. “At least mine made sense.” Henry replies brutally before turning around once more and taking another deep drag of his cigarette.
Since then a rivalry blossomed — Henry’s mind challenging yours as you challenged Henry’s.
Despite Henry’s spewing hatred for you, Francis Abernathy, another peer, had taken a likeness to you. He invited you over to his aunt’s countryside estate, the group’s last visit before winter break yet your first visit.
It was grand and large, easy to get lost in the winding far hallways. You spent evenings in the living room, lay across the couches and indulging in the rich wine from the cellar.
Tonight was no different.
Your minds were fairly numbed and you gazed up at the ceiling as the others talked — unaware of Henry’s gaze upon you from the armchair close to the fireplace. It looked almost playful. Almost.
Bunny was bringing up a moment from the class in the previous term and you laughed, shaking your head. “Nope, that’s not how I remember it.” You say your laughter dying down. You then heard a faint stiff chuckle from Henry and all heads looked to him. He hadn’t spoken much all night.
“What?” You ask, a faint laugh in your voice. It was a nervous laugh, you never knew what Henry was going to say.
“Even when we aren’t in Julian’s office you still manage to argue with anything anyone says, it’s predictable.” Henry tells you, taking another sip of wine.
“Henry knock it off. It’s all in good fun.” Charles said with a scowl, pouring more wine into his glass.
“I’m just stating the obvious, you always have to know better than anyone. Come on, give it a rest for one night.” Henry tells you, his gaze more challenging than ever as he wore a satisfied grin at how your face dropped.
In Henry’s mind he was only being playful — to you he was nothing but cruel. The room suddenly felt warmer and you needed to leave the living area before smoke came out your fucking ears.
You left the estate and stood outside for a while, crossing your arms; a poor attempt to warm you from the cold.
A few moments later you heard footsteps wondering towards the front door; those familiar heavy footsteps.
You glanced over your shoulder and saw Henry, lighting up a lucky strike. Quickly, you looked away and kept your jaw tight in a similar fashion to how Henry’s usually had his whenever you were near.
Henry glanced to you, his eyes roving you up and down for a moment as he exhaled the smoke. His eyelids were droopy and he cleared his throat before glancing away, intoxication taking hold.
“I was only trying to joke, it was a joke.” Henry informs you. You laugh falsely and look over to him.
“Jokes are funny.” You tell him and he grins, perching the cigarette between his lips as he got his Lucky Strike packet from his coat pocket. “Touché.” He murmured and held out the packet to you.
You looked at it for a moment before shaking your head and looking forward to the field. He put the packet back in his coat pocket and looked out to the field with you that was covered by darkness.
“I envy your perseverance. At first I hated it, then I began to love the challenge, the thrill of proving you wrong.” Henry tells you.
Your eyes remained forward yet you could see Henry in the corner of your eye, drawing closer. His hand reached up to caress your face, his hand large enough to cup your cheek and ear with his fingers not once calloused by work but by the scribbling away of his pen over the years.
As his fingertips grazed your cheek you grabbed his hand and shoved it away before making your way back inside.
“You intrigue me.” You hear Henry’s voice slur as you continue to walk. He wanted you to stay out there with him, yet drunken words, or any word at all from Henry didn’t matter.
You left to your room after that encounter and didn’t come down for the rest of the night.
The next morning, you saw Henry in the kitchen, up first as usual. You wished he was hungover, enough to stay in his room for the rest of the day.
His usual slick back hair was messier and his eyes were more remorseful. His top blouse button was undone and he lacked a belt. For a moment Henry looked human.
As you put the kettle on he looked you up and down once more, taking a sip of his own lukewarm coffee.
You didn’t look his way and looked out the kitchen window that faced the fields.
“Whatever I said last night I apologise.” Henry told you with a soft tone you were unfamiliar with.
“It doesn’t matter.” You mutter dismissively and keep your eyes out the window. You hear Henry sigh and he removes his glasses and rubs his temple in annoyance.
“It does, it does. What I said was true. I am intrigued by you.” Henry admits.
You scoff and shake your head. “You have a funny way of showing it.” You tell him bitterly, still believing he was fucking with you.
“It intrigues me that you challenge me. I’m not used to it.” Henry tells you. Your shoulders relax a little as the sincerity of his words dripped from his lips.
“I regret how I’ve treated you, please. May we be friends?” Henry asks, standing up from his seat. You glance over to him and he extended his hand to you as if you were creating a pact.
Slowly and uncertainly, you shook his hand and watched his face relax. It was new, something other than a clenched jaw.
Henry was a man of is word, his attitude and behaviour towards you dissipating from anger to a fondness of you. Little did you know it ran much deeper, that fondness soon submerging into desire.
When you worked together, to study or work on assignments it was like clockwork and everything fell into place. Your minds worked as one and Henry felt immensely foolish for creating your rivalry in the first place.
You returned to Francis’ aunt’s countryside estate in the spring where the fields were flooded with vibrant green and the odd clumps of flowers sat across it.
Everyone was outside, Camilla walking by the stream with Richard while Charles, Francis, Bunny and Henry played tennis. You were settled under a tree, shading from the sun and reading while seated on a picnic blanket.
You only look up from your book you were annotating upon hearing the approach of heavy breathing and look up to see Henry, his blouse unkept and untucked from his pants, a few strands of hair falling over his forehead.
“Was tennis really that intense?” You ask with a slight grin. Henry chuckles and lays down on the picnic blanket beside you. He rubs his forehead.
“Bunny can be very competitive.” Henry replies and you roll your eyes in a playful manner.
“What are you annotating?” Henry inquired, sitting up. You held the book out to him. Henry took it from your grasp and suddenly much more aware of how close Henry was seated beside you.
He flicked through the pages, his eyes concentrated as he focused on every word you wrote on each page and marvelled at it.
“Ingenious as always.” He tells you with a subtle smile, holding the book back out to you. You’re still reeling from the proximity. Why was this so overwhelming?
Henry looked back to you upon noticing your gaze and slowly lowered the book onto your lap. His eyes flickered to your lips for a moment before back to your eyes, a silent ask for permission.
When your lips part a little, he takes the indication and cups your chin with his fingers, bringing his lips to your own in a deep tender kiss. Closing your eyes, your body relaxes and you let your lips get taken by his, attempting to kiss back with as much affection as he did. His arm slipped around your waist and pulled you closer to him if it was even humanly possible.
Henry wanted every part of you.
His tongue slipped over yours and nothing felt better before the grating sound of a whistle was heard from Bunny mouth.
“Hey! We’re starting another game!” He yelled, unable to see entirely what was happening as the sun caused his eyes to squint, disorienting his vision.
Henry’s lips grazed yours now and he sighed in annoyance. He looked over to Bunny. “I’ll be over in a moment!” Henry yells.
He leaves one last desired kiss upon your lips before returning to Charles, Francis and Bunny, acting as though nothing had happened despite his lingering glances to you throughout the next game.

Do you have any headcanons for Henry Winter, either as a lover or just general? I feel like headcanons are a good way to familiarize ourselves with a writer’s characterization, especially for a character like Henry.
Looking forward to it<3
HENRY WINTER HEADCANONS
(also currently writing an imagine for him BARE WITH)
Tumblr media
— Firstly , Zane Holtz is my favourite Henry Winter fancast and this is exactly how I pictured him. Cannot get behind the Cillian Murphy fancast at all.
— To be Henry’s lover I think the friends to lovers dynamic would definitely come into play. I can’t see him being interested in someone purely from appearance, there has to be an intelligence to them and something he can level with.
In conclusion I personally would not appeal to Henry Winter.
— You’d definitely have to be in the Ancient Greek class for Henry to acknowledge and notice you. Unlike Bunny, Henry doesn’t befriend anyone out of the group and has his own superiority where he looks down upon the other groups in the college. I doubt Henry would be willing to get to know anyone outside the class.
— Slow burn would also be important as Henry takes time to trust or more so; you trust Henry. We’re told Henry appears odd to the other students of Hampden, coming off as stoic and cold so naturally you wouldn’t warm to him immediately either.
— Henry would be subtle with showing affection at first. I don’t think he’d be the type to easily confess his love for you and instead would drop subtle hints like gifts that were very personal or preferring to spend time with you alone than with anyone else.
— Despite his lack of emotion showed externally I believe someone who studies Ancient Greek like he does has a poetic side to them. It’d probably be subtle but there would be small lines in cards and letters.
— I’m not going to completely romanticise Henry since I do believe he’d be difficult to be with at times. His detached personality would entail arguments such as he’d leave for hours or possibly days and be extremely vague to where he’s been. There’d be confusing moments to where he’d want to push you away and I don’t think he’d ever be truly transparent and himself. There would always be underlying secrets, something Henry doesn’t want you to know even if you were entitled to knowing.
— Henry would probably think he has some power and control over the relationship considering his superiority complex. This would be another confusing factor because it could be construed as him being caring and compassionate, how he would tend to your needs and allow you to be vulnerable yet it in his eyes it satisfies his need for superiority and power.
— Ultimately I think deep down Henry would love and desire you yet he’d have difficulty showing it unless you got in an argument and you stormed out. Henry’s mind would wonder without you, knowing you weren’t there to talk him away from wherever his mind went.
— You’d act as a rock for him but eventually I don’t think there’d be any saving that man from how his mind spirals.
— His favourite idea of a date would either be a quiet night in reading or going out to some typical fancy restaurant (or simply a bacchanal if ykyk).

SAVING YOU (2)
omg I’m back from the dead!! this is part two of saving you since a lot of you asked for it!!
Tumblr media
MIKE SCHMIDT X READER
— WEEKS THIS BEHAVIOUR HAS CONTINUED.
Being treated as a ghost, as if you had died back in that pizzeria when you were right there asking for his embrace.
Although you attempted to put on a “we’re fine” facade for Abby the young girl was smart enough to see right through it and questioned you both separately.
She didn’t get a confident answer from either.
One evening, Abby left the dinner table early and you and Mike were once again sat in that awkward tension filled silence. You both had different thoughts and feelings yet you still both felt it at it’s fullest.
Then Mike broke it in the worst possible way.
“I don’t think we’re right for each other and we should break up.” Mike said, a sigh following his words. He clearly thought long about this, but had he thought hard?
“What?” You replied, unable to believe your ears. Was he serious? You’d been your happiest with Mike, you’d accepted any delicate flaw he possessed and now the pizzeria incident happened he was changed, like a switch had been flipped.
“I think we should break up.” Mike repeats, those deep brown eyes that held so much looking to you. He rubbed his fork in a nervous way, as if he couldn’t believe what he was saying and how deeply he wanted to take what he said back.
“You deserve someone who can protect you and I’m not that.” His voice quivered. He clearly hadn’t thought this through and let his doubts get the better of him, but he wanted what’s best for you; what he always wanted.
Your gaze softens and you sigh. “Mike, you need to let it go. Nothing like that is going to happen again and what happened was—“ he cuts you off.
“Insane? Yeah I don’t care it still happened.” Mike leans back in his chair, looking away for a moment.
There’s a loud silence.
Your hands shake and you feel tears form in your eyes, blurring your vision yet you manage to see Mike’s head turn back to you, his look of concern and regret.
“Please don’t push me away, please. I love you so much I don’t want to be apart from you.” You ask of him, your breathing quickening. It didn’t feel real.
Your tears are enough to break him and he quickly leans over, wrapping his arms around you.
“Fuck, I’m so sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” He repeats in a whispers into your forehead, kissing it. He closes his eyes and sighs, feeling foolish and upset due to the fact he’d upset you.
“Sweetheart I’m so sorry.” He says as you cry, keeping you in his arms. “I love you so much.” Mike rubs your back in a circular motion, calming you to some degree.
He could never push you away, not completely.
There was something more intimate about that night, for a fickle moment you’d both realised what it would be like to lose each other and how it would feel. It felt dreadful, through the two words “break up”.
Mike held you close, kissing your cheeks, nose, lips and forehead repeatedly in hopes of making you feel loved. He didn’t mean what he said, of course he didn’t.
“I just want to protect you.” Mike murmurs as you look to him.
As much as you assure him he knows he’ll never be able to have his wishes grant completely, but he’ll definitely try.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?
Tumblr media
MIKE SCHMIDT X FEM!READER
— NOTHING WAS PLATONIC BETWEEN YOU AND MIKE; THAT MUCH WAS TRUE.
“Abby?” You called out as you stood outside the Schmidt household, trying to peer into the textured glass window on the door to make out any figures.
Stepping back, you looked down at the doormat and knelt down, picking the corner up a little. You’d told Mike before that it was the most typical place to leave a door key but now you were thankful he didn’t listen to you for once.
You unlocked the door and opened it, stepping inside. “Abby?” You called out once more and silence followed seconds later. Abby wasn’t home which was strange, usually having a babysitter for company.
Before your mind could wonder much further, your gaze averted to the vest sprawled over the armrest of the couch. With a sigh you picked it up and read the label “security” patched into it.
“Mike.” You mumble, scolding his forgetfulness despite the fact he wasn’t here. As you looked down at it an idea struck your mind.
You might as well take a trip to the pizzeria and give it to him? Could be important.
Besides, when Mike told you about the strange occurrences at the pizzeria and didn’t care to elaborate, your curiosity got sparked.
Slipping on the security vest, you walked out the house (shutting and locking the door) before getting in your car and driving to the pizzeria.
This really had to happen on the worst night.
After parking in the desolate parking lot, your car, a police car and Mike’s car being the only ones there. The sight of the police car made you feel nervous and urged you to walk a little quicker into the pizzeria.
Walking through the entrance, you could hear voices and a groan of agony. Slowly you walked forwards, noticing a bloody Mike on the ground and a disturbing bunny costume looming over him.
“Mike.” Your voice was a whisper and you stepped back, your foot knocking into a fallen chair. The squeak attracted the attention of whoever wore the costume and Mike.
Mike looked up with pure terror in his eyes. God what were you doing here? Why now? He looked to William who began to turn around.
“No.” Mike murmured with gritted teeth as blood spurred out of his mouth slightly due to the harsh kicks he’d taken in the stomach. Despite his state, Mike was willing to protect you and reached out to try and grab William’s leg and pull him down.
William looked back, and with a harsh kick Mike was knocked out cold. You were frozen in place, not willing to leave the pizzeria without Mike despite how intimidated you felt.
“Hey!” You hear the voice of Abby yell and both your eyes and William’s eyes look to her. “Abby no!” You cry, knowing William would try going after her now. Without a second thought, you grabbed the fallen chair and swung it at the man. Immediate regret; he was charging at you with his knife in seconds.
A bullet pierced through his torso before he could reach you, stopping him just seconds before he reached you. In the heat of it all, you rushed over to Mike and tried helping him up with Abby. He became conscious, his eyes slowly opening and you looked to him.
“Hey.” You spoke softly. He was beaten and bruised and although feeling numb his hand reached for your face, his fingers lightly trailing over your cheek. You were his last thought before he slipped unconscious.
“You’re okay.” Mike whispers and you nod, smiling at him. “I’m okay.” You assure him. “Come on!” Abby brings the both of you back to reality as you help Mike up.
-
Mike was in hospital for multiple injures for a day or so and you and Abby stayed for it. The three of you were in the room, you sat at the chair beside the bed while Abby was sat at the desk in the corner of the room colouring.
“Abby, would it be okay if we could talk for a moment? Just me and her?” Mike asked of his sister, his voice hoarse. Abby looked between the two of you, a smile gracing her lips before she nodded and left the room for the moment.
You smile slightly as you watch her leave before Mike speaks up. “Why were you there?” He questioned. You looked down at your shoes for a moment. Mike wasn’t happy at all with the fact you’d come to the pizzeria but he wanted to know why.
“You forgot your vest, I wanted to bring it to you. Could’ve been important.” You say, looking up to him. Mike looks to you for a moment before smiling and chuckling softly.
“That’s it? My vest?” He says. His eyes avert to it as you wear it and his eyes come back to meet yours.
“Suits you.” Mike teases and you roll your eyes.
“Yeah I don’t think I’ll be getting a job there anytime soon.” You reply, standing up and sitting on the edge of the bed.
There’s a moment of silence, where you look to Mike and his hand reaches out for yours. You gently take his hand in your own and run your thumb across his knuckles.
“I was really scared for you, really scared.” Mike admitted, his face dropping as he remembered the feeling. He swallowed the lump in his throat.
“I don’t ever want to lose you, ever. I—“ Mike hesitates on his next words and your eyes look to him in anticipation.
“I love you.” He finally says. For a moment there’s silence and Mike immediately feels he’s screwed up, shutting his eyes tightly and retracting his hand from yours.
Too soon?
Before he can begin rambling apologies, he feels your lips on his forehead and his eyes open. You pull away and look to him, leaning down once more and planting two more kisses on his cheeks before finally kissing his lips.
It was a gentle and delicate kiss, nothing too strong or deep. You hold the kiss for a moment before pulling your lips away. His lips are parted slightly as you do, as if he’s still reliving the moment.
It isn’t long before your lips are back on his.

writing this in honour of Halloween (it’s literally over now)
HALLOWEEN.
Tumblr media
MIKE SCHMIDT X READER
— HALLOWEEN WAS TOMORROW NIGHT AND MIKE FELT SOMEWHAT NERVOUS ABOUT ASKING YOU THIS.
Mike was your boyfriend, however he also held the responsibility of being Abby’s guardian. Although he wanted to spend Halloween with you, watching some horror movie full of gruesome monsters and have that cliché moment where he asks “are you scared?”, Abby had reminded him of something that morning.
As he served up breakfast, his sister approached smiling , sitting at the table opposite the kitchen.
“You’re still taking me trick or treating right?” She asked. Mike closed his eyes for a moment, scolding himself.
Of course he was meant to do that.
Abby’s face faltered for a moment, worried her brother would turn her down. Naturally, Mike couldn’t.
“Yeah, yeah of course.” He told his sister, her face lighting up once more. Mike reflected his sister’s smile before it dawned on him he wouldn’t be spending the night with you.
He called you up that evening, rubbing the bridge of his nose as he dreaded the thought of disappointing you.
“Hello?” He heard your voice on the other line.
“Hey.” Mike said, attempting to sound cheerful.
“Hey, is everything alright?” You asked. Mike took a moment to sigh. He dreaded letting you down. He hadn’t been open to getting into a relationship before but now he had more of a grasp on his life and had found you. He was constantly scared of messing up; never having had loved someone the way he loved you before.
“Listen I’ve got to take Abby trick or treating so we can’t do anything on Halloween night, I’m sorry.” Mike apologises.
“Oh…that’s okay.” He hears you say simply but he knows you don’t mean it. You have to at least be a little disappointed.
“You can come if you want.” Mike murmurs the suggestion.
“Really?” Your voice sounded perkier and lively as if you were fond of the idea.
“Yeah but it’s stupid you’d probably hate it there’s just running, screaming kids all in the neighbourhood—“ you cut Mike off.
“No seriously I’d love to, that’d be nice.” You said with certainty. You wanted to spend time with Mike on Halloween and had no problem accompanying him with Abby to go trick or treating.
Mike goes quiet for a moment, his brows furrowing. “Are you sure?” He asks confusedly. He didn’t know you’d be so sure with the idea.
“Yeah, I’ll come with.” You tell him. You’d only just started dating Mike for a month and hadn’t acquainted Abby all that well. It was a good opportunity for you to bond with the girl better and ultimately spend time with Mike.
“Okay, sure yeah. I’ll see you tomorrow night.” Mike says, relaxing more.
“Bye.” You say quietly with a smile, hanging up the phone.
-
The next night you came over, parking your car at the curb of Mike’s house. You locked your car before walking onto the porch and knocking on the door.
Mike opened the door, candy bucket at the ready before realising it was you.
“Sorry to disappoint, you were so prepared.” You say sarcastically with a smile. Mike shakes his head slightly with a faint laugh and kisses the corner of your lips.
Mike leaves the bowl on the porch and you laugh slightly. “What?” He asks as he looks up.
“You know kids are just gonna take handfuls of that, right? It’ll be gone in seconds.” You tell him, looking down at the bowl.
“I know but…we all did that at some point, right?” Mike replied.
The both of you head out with Abby who makes conversation with you as she walks. Mike enjoyed seeing the two of you talk, appreciating the moment with his two favourite people. He knew the both of you would end up getting along.
Eventually, the three of you got back to the house. Abby was fulfilled with the amount of candy she’d got but grew tired quickly as her excitement died down. However, she was still eager to spend time with you and Mike.
"Well, we were gonna watch a scary movie." Mike tells her, hoping she'd be put off at the idea.
After the Pizzeria, nothing phased this girl.
"I can handle it." Abby assured him smiling, kicking off her shoes and getting comfortable on the couch already. Mike sighed a little before walking into the living room.
The two of you decided on the movie Halloween from 1978 and you rested close to Mike, your body resting against his. Mike's arm was draped over your shoulder and he kissed your forehead, Abby soon falling asleep against you not long into the movie.
"She thinks you're great you know, she's started drawing you." Mike murmurs against your forehead, glancing over at Abby.
"Really?" You asked, a smile gracing your lips upon hearing this. "Good to know.
Mike was glad you were fond of Abby, not wanting you to see her as some kind of burden for his time being split between you and looking after Abby.
However, that was the complete opposite of how you were, clearly happy to look after Abby and care for her too.
Mike loved that about you.

Hellooo hii how are you? I hope you're doing amazing today! Could you do a Mike x fem!reader where Mike keeps having nightmares with what happened at the pizzeria and the reader tries to comfort him but she never succeeded. So one night she goes to the kitchen and sits on the kitchen counter while thinking about Mike and how to make him feel better but instead, Mike joins her in the kitchen for a glass of water. And they start talking a little bit and somehow Mike ends up in front of Reader's legs (while she's still on the counter, he's up yk) and they look at each other and it's just fluff and they kiss? :3 -🦡
love this thank you so much for your request!
REASSURED.

MIKE SCHMIDT X READER
— HE AWOKE, HIS BREATHING ERRATIC AND HIS HEART THUMPING OUT OF HIS CHEST. HE PULLED HIS SHIRT UP FOR ANY STAB MARKS BUT SAW NOTHING THERE.
He sighed and let his shirt drop back down over his torso.
Another nightmare.
You woke up at his suddenness and sat up slightly with a groan. Mike closed his eyes, his jaw tensing slightly. He hated when you’d wake up and see him like this, he hated it.
“Mike?” You asked, your voice tired. You’d been dating Mike for a good while now and happened to stay over frequently. Mike didn’t like you driving in the dark and thought it was a better option if you stayed the night, dismissing the fact he had the same reoccurring nightmare every single night. Not about his brother, but the pizzeria.
You reached out for his shoulder and he flinched slightly, more fragile than he liked to admit. You retracted your hand.
“I’m sorry.” You apologised. “If you’d like to talk—“ Mike cut you off. He didn’t want to talk, not at all. Keeping his emotions in check he let out a strained.
“I’m fine. Let’s just go back to sleep okay?” He told you, laying back down in bed. He lay closer to the edge this time and you noticed.
He didn’t want you to worry or feel pity for him; he was your boyfriend, not some lost cause.
-
The next night was the same, only more intense. He woke up in a cold sweat and sat up immediately. Mike ran a hand over his chest, once again checking for stab marks before relaxing only slightly. Something felt…strange.
Your side was lighter and Mike’s eyes averted to it. You were gone and the door was agape. Mike shot out of bed, his mind immediately racing. He called for you, running out the bedroom. He ran down the hall, his breathing unsteady as his eyes looked around frantically. He couldn’t lose you.
Finally they landed on you who approached him, going to caress his face. “Mike?” You said, clearly concerned. He took a step back.
“I’m fine, I’m fine.” He mumbled, walking past you. With a defeated look you sat on the counter, your legs dangling off it. Mike ran a hand over his face, going to the sink and running some water over his face. He turned it off and walked to the fridge, glancing at you.
He opened it, grabbing a bottle of water. “What are you doing up?” He asked, catching his breath and opening the bottle, taking a long thirsty sip. You looked to him and looked down at your hands slightly. You just wanted to comfort him and he wasn’t letting you.
“I went to get a drink.” She told him. “I’m sorry I didn’t know you’d—“ Mike cut you off.
“Don’t apologise.” He said quietly, closing the fridge. There was a moment of silence, a silence that allowed Mike to think about his next words.
His eyes softened as he looked at you. He loved you and all you were asking was for him to let you love him in return. Mike was so scared, the same fear he felt that very night at the pizzeria.
“I thought I’d lost you.” Mike’s voice was quiet and his eyes filled with tears. He walked over to you, slowly standing in front of you. You weren’t going to pull him into your arms, not if he didn’t want it.
His hands rested on your thighs for a moment before his hands came up to your waist, his arms embracing you and holding you tightly. He closed his eyes and buried his head in your chest, holding onto you as if you were going to disappear.
You were taken aback by Mike’s sudden need for affection but you weren’t rejecting it. You held him close to you and kissed his forehead, caressing the back of his head and holding him closely.
“You aren’t gonna lose me, alright?” You told him and he looks up. He knew you couldn’t promise that but he was going to try and do the most to protect you.
That started by letting you see his vulnerability, giving him a reason to have you close.
Mike looked to you with tired eyes before leaning in, pressing a tender kiss to your lips. He kissed each corner of your mouth, then the tip of your nose and over your chin adoringly. Mike looked to you once more before leaving a kiss on your lips again, pulling away after a few moments only slightly.
“I love you.” He murmured against your lips, then you leaned in and gave him one more kiss.
“I love you too, I’m not going anywhere.” You promised; that was a promise that was never certain, but for now he was reassured by your words.

NIGHTMARES.
Tumblr media
MIKE SCHMIDT X READER
this feels like an extremely typical scenario for most characters with a tortured past but I’m gonna do it anyway!
— MIKE AWOKE, HIS BODY JOLTING AT THE NIGHTMARE THAT HAUNTED HIS MIND.
He glanced over his shoulder at you, still seeing you facing away from him and your body slowly rising and falling with each breath you took. He tended to make little movement after that, hoping he didn’t wake you up and tried falling back to sleep. Unfortunately that rarely ever happened.
He heard you let out a tired groan, most likely being awoken by his sudden flinch and gasp for air. Instinctively, you reached over and wrapped your arm round his waist, your leg overlapping his slightly. Mike relaxed at your touch, yet felt awful for waking you up as usual.
“I’m sorry.” He muttered once more, his eyes tightly closing.
“Sh.” He heard your voice whisper against his ear. You brought your head close and kissed the back of his neck before kissing under his ear. He smiled a little at the feeling yet couldn’t shake the idea of being a burden to you. However, with the more kisses you left and the tighter your arms became around him, the more his worries melted.
During the night, you stirred in your sleep and turned away from Mike, your back facing him. His brows furrowed and he opened his eyes, glancing over his shoulder once more.
He saw the back of you and sighed before turning over, bringing his arms around your waist. He heard you let out a soft breath and kissed your shoulder.
He really loved you, especially when you grounded him in nights like these. You never asked to elaborate or asked him for answers, holding him was just fine. He often wondered why you chose him and were still with him after seeing the way he was.
Mike never dared ask. He knew you’d come up with a bunch of reasons why anyway; he thought the world of you.
Slowly, with one final kiss on your cheek, Mike rested against you. His arms resting around your waist, hugging you closely and his head resting close to your back — he finally fell back to sleep.

MIKE SCHMIDT X READER
— NATURALLY MIKE DIDN’T WANT YOU ANYWHERE NEAR THE PIZZERIA WHEN HE WENT TO SAVE ABBY. HE HADN’T EVEN TOLD YOU ABOUT ALL THAT WAS HAPPENING UNTIL HE GOT BACK WITH ABBY.
At first you didn’t believe him, but he seemed completely sincere. Who were you to doubt him?
“Vanessa’s out of hospital now, I’ve invited her over for dinner.” Mike says casually one night, crawling into bed beside you. He draped his arm lazily over your waist, ready to get some rest as his eyes close.
You opened your eyes and your brows immediately furrowed.
Who the fuck was Vanessa?
“You haven’t mentioned her before.” You mumble, your voice barely audible. Mike opened his eyes and looked over your shoulder slightly to see your face.
“Hm?” He asked, not having had heard you correctly.
“You haven’t mentioned Vanessa before.” You say clearly. There’s a moment of silence.
“Haven’t I?” His voice was tired.
No, you haven’t Mike.
“She saved Abby back at the pizzeria, she’s been in hospital for a while since it and I thought it’d be nice to invite her over.” Mike says and you grow silent.
“I just thought you’d be okay with it.” He replies simply. Despite your apparent confusion you look up. You were okay with it.
“I’m okay with it.” You reply and Mike smiles, kissing your forehead and holding you closer. However you did stay up a while that night, thinking upon what he’d said.
The next evening you finally meet Vanessa. She’s so beautiful that it’s threatening. Mike greets her warmly and you begin to realise you’re taking note of every gesture and word he says yet you don’t stop yourself. It’s bad; you’re aware.
You, Abby, Mike and Vanessa begin to eat dinner, discussing typical topics about how life was treating them.
At some point, you slowly began to hold Mike’s hand, your thumb tracing over t o back of his hand. Mike looks over to you, giving you a confused glance as his eyes flicker between your hands intertwined and you. You’d never done that before at dinner. This was new.
Vanessa was friendly, she was nice. Yet you were still defensive. You’d tried to follow the same attitude but whenever you laughed or smiled it all seemed…fake, not genuine.
She caught on, and there would usually be an awkward silence to follow any conversation you had with her.
When the evening was over you’d began to get ready for bed. You were in the bathroom, washing your face when you looked up in the mirror and saw Mike walking to the bathroom.
He got in and shut the door, leaning against it so Abby couldn’t listen in. Mike didn’t look particularly happy. “What was that?” He asked his eyes searching yours. You looked to him and laughed a little.
“What was what?” You asked, your voice holding confusion but you knew exactly what he was talking about.
“Why were you being like that at dinner?” Mike questioned. He had no clue what could’ve brought on your behaviour yet.
“Nothing was wrong with me at dinner.” You assured him. He scoffed a little, looking away for a moment.
“Vanessa saved mine and Abby’s life. The least you can do is be friendly.” Mike told you.
“I was being friendly, I was talking and I was—“ he cut you off.
“Don’t bullshit me I saw that, you never grab my hand like that at dinner, ever.” Mike told you, his voice holding a hint of anger at your obliviousness.
You noticed his change in tone and your face dropped a little, your facade falling. Mike’s eyes softened at your face and he sighed.
“Look c’mere. I’m sorry. ” He told you, pulling you into his arms. You wrapped your arms around him and closed your eyes, feeling his hand caressing the back of your head comfortingly.
It took him a moment to put the pieces together. The fake laughing, smiling, holding his hand, how you looked at Vanessa.
Mike kissed the top of your head before moving away slightly so he could see your face. “Were you jealous?” Mike says with a smile, his voice holding a teasing tone.
“I— no I wasn’t. I wasn’t.” You were quick to deny; you completely were.
“Oh okay, okay.” He said, his voice suggesting he didn’t believe you at all.
You run a hand over your face. “I wasn’t that’s..stupid I’m not like that.” You told him quickly but he could see right through you no, his hand moving to caress your cheeks.
“You were, I saw you. You were.” He told you, laughing slightly. You weren’t though and remained doubtful.
He was quick to notice this and pressed his lips to your forehead. “Hey, she’s a friend. That’s it. I promise.” Mike assures you, his thumbs gently stroking your cheeks.
“Yeah?” You said quietly, looking up. “Yeah I promise.” Mike replies, pressing an affectionate kiss to your lips. You relaxed immediately from your tense state and kissed back before Mike pulled away, a smile on his face. “I love you.”
“I’ve never seen you like that before it was weird.” He says with a laugh and you roll your eyes.
“I was hardly jealous alright.” You mumbled, making Mike move so you could leave the bathroom. He stepped aside, a laugh still leaving his lips as you opened the door and walked out.
“Alright, tell yourself that.” You hear him say as you walked down the hallway.

Thank you for your time, have a nice day/night :)

BELIEVE ME.
Tumblr media
CARMY BERZATTO X FEM!READER
— GOOD THINGS NEVER CAME TO CARMEN, SO WHEN THEY DID HE SAVOURED THEM A LITTLE TOO MUCH.
Carmen usually picked you up from work.
6:00pm.
That was always the time.
He sat in his car, his fingers tapping against the steering wheel as he waited outside. It’d been a long day and he was grateful he’d get to spend the evening with you now. However you were taking a little longer. He tried seeing if he could see you through the glass window; he could.
There you were, at the counter looking down at a slip of paper and a pen in your hand. Carmen’s eyes averted to the man stood beside you. Marc was his name? Ever since Carmen had got with you he began to see the man in a different light.
Carmen rubbed his chin, feeling his jaw tense.
Eventually you came out, a little later than usual. That was fine, right?
Carmen wasn’t going to let his thoughts intervene with his evening with you, yet it lingered in his mind. He was quieter in the drive back to his apartment but you figured he’d had a difficult day.
Finally you get there, the both of you throwing on some random movie. You had dinner and lay against him on the couch. He seemed touchier than usual, clingier..
You looked to the television screen, the light illuminating the room. Carmen kissed your forehead, eventually it coming more frequent. You laughed and looked up, about to ask him a question before he kissed your lips.
The kiss was deep, intimate. You weren’t complaining.
When he finally broke the kiss you decided to ask, looking to him. “Where’s this coming from?” You inquired with a smile. “I mean, I like it but you’ve never been like this before.”
Carmen leaned in and kissed your lips once more, his arms around your waist and skimming gently past your shirt. “Marc.” He murmured absentmindedly against your lips.
“Wait, Marc? Why Marc?” You laughed a little. At first you simply found it funny but you soon grew curious. What did he mean?
He continued to press kisses to your lips, his lips trailing down to your neck. “I don’t know.” He mumbled, not thinking about his words.
You were though.
Your brows furrowed. “Carm why Marc?” You ask. “I don’t know.” He mumbled once more.
“Thought he was kind of…close that’s all.” Carmen murmurs. You move your head back a little, looking to him confused.
“Carmen.” You said looking to him.
“What?” He asked, laughing a little.
“Nothing is going on with me and Marc.” You tell him, crossing your arms. You were clearly a little annoyed. Carmen moved back, running a hand through his hair.
“So I’m just seeing stuff?” He says a little defensively.
“Yes, you are because we were just talking and—“ Carmen cuts you off with a laugh. “Just talking.” He says mockingly.
“We were sorting out what shifts to take!” You told him. He didn’t respond and there was that look on his face, that slight smile, that told you he wasn’t taking this seriously.
“Believe me Carmen.” You spoke firmly.
“I don’t know if I should.” He tells you. Carmen had no trust in you right now.
You were his. Not Marc’s. His.
“Excuse me?” You asked as if you didn’t hear him correctly. Never once had Carmen doubted your trust.
“I said I don’t know if I should.” He says with a slight hint of remorse.
You scoff and he watches you get up and leave the room, slamming the bedroom door shut.
Carmen had never been jealous before like this, so naturally he wasn’t sure how to act. He just wanted you, to know you were close and weren’t about to leave him.
He was definitely sleeping on the couch tonight.

Overall Mike is comfortable with you and can sometimes be protective and defensive which he apologises for. It’ll always comes down to the risk of losing you.
Could you write maybe a similar one shot to this if you write oneshots too of course. Maybe when they are in the pizzaria and something almost happens but the reader needed to protect Abby more than herself at the moment and the reader she gets hurt but Mike comes just in time to get them out of here and worries to much about that he wasn't there in time but the reader tries to reassure him that it's fine but he knows it isn't. 😇

MIKE SCHMIDT X READER
— “THEY’RE AFTER ABBY?”
Mike slammed open the door to the house and you quickly looked up from the television, sitting in the living room. It hadn’t been long since you got home from work. “Mike what the fuck?” You asked with furrowed brows. Mike doesn’t reply or even look your way. He walks down the hall, heading straight for Abby’s room.
“Where’s Abby?” He hears you say and turns around, walking into the living room and finally his eyes meet yours. Mike’s eyes are full of panic, fear and anger, a cold sweat breaking out on his forehead.
“I thought she was at the pizzeria with you?” You replied, your worry now reflecting Mike’s. You stood up from the couch, quickly grabbing your jacket.
“She is at the pizzeria.” Mike breathes out as he leaves the house. You follow after, locking the door with shaky hands.
“You just left her there?” You reply in disbelief and annoyance as you walk to the passenger side.
“I—no I didn’t, it’s hard to explain just get back in the house.” Mike tells you, quickly getting in the driver’s seat and starting the engine. He sees you get in the car in the corner of his eye and sighs.
He didn’t have time for this.
“I don’t want you coming, stay here.” He told you, his voice slightly agitated. He was already terrified for Abby, he didn’t need you on his conscience either while he was there. Your gaze challenged his, confirming you weren’t leaving this car. He sighed before starting the engine and reversing.
In the span of a rushed car journey, Mike attempted to explain everything regarding the pizzeria. The animatronics, how they wanted to take Abby and how they were about to right now.
Mike messily parked in the parking lot before getting out of the car, slamming the door shut. You followed after, beginning to walk to the main entrance. Mike grabbed your arm gently and guided you away from it. “We’re going through the vents.” Mike tells you, walking to another entrance. The two of you crawled through the vent, and you couldn’t see much. A rat scurried past you, already a bad omen.
Eventually the two of you got in and Mike shoved open the grid blocking the vent. The two of you quickly crouched by the side of the stage.
Looking up, you noticed Chica walking off with Abby. “Abby!” You whisper yelled before Mike pulled you down and out of sight from the animatronics. However, Freddy suddenly looked over, causing both you and Mike to tense. Your breathing hitched and you waited for him to return to normal.
Soon he continued to perform a catchy 80s song. Your eyes looked to the stairs at the side of it. With an adrenaline rush, you ran up the stairs quickly and past the two animatronics. Mike tried grabbing your shirt before you ran but he was too slow. His eyes widened as he saw Freddy and Bonnie turn to the direction you ran.
He immediately stepped in, making them malfunction before running after you, calling yours and Abby’s names.
You stopped abruptly, your jaw hanging agape as you saw Abby being lifted into an animatronic suit full of spring locks. “Abby!” You yelled, your voice enough to get Chica to turn around. Abby managed to escape her grip and run to you.
Mike ran in and was quick to use his taser, causing Chica to malfunction. He looked over, quickly hugging Abby before hugging you in relief and kissing your forehead. “Everyone okay?” He asked, taking Abby’s hand.
The three of you began to walk to the exit before noticing a figure there, an unfamiliar one.
A yellow bunny.
“Take Abby.” Mike whispered, his eyes not shifting from the horrifying suit.
“What?” You question, furrowing your brow. You were all leaving this together, right?
“Take her.” Mike whispered more firmly, slipping his taser into your hand discreetly.
You grabbed Abby’s hand slowly walking back with her. “Mike!” She called out, trying to go back to her brother as you walked backwards, your eyes never leaving the figure.
The figure was quick to run up to Mike and tackle him, knocking him out cold. Your eyes widened in horror as you watched the figure look up.
The bunny suit was certainly horrifying, much more disturbing than Freddy and his friends. This suit was tethered and wearing. “Where do you think you’re going?” When they spoke it finally dawned upon you this was no animatronic, but a man.
You and Abby backed against a wall before you pulled out the taser Mike had handed you. However, it was useless against the suit. The man came at you with a knife and you quickly pushed Abby out the way, stopping his hand before the knife could reach your face. You were struggling though, the knife drawing closer and it’s blade shimmering in the light. You gritted your teeth, using all your strength to keep his hand back.
Suddenly, a gunshot ring out and the man stumbles back and you look up to see Vanessa.
The next few days were hazy and silent. Abby remained cheerful, unaffected even became more sociable with the kids in her class. You and Mike were truly happy for her sudden change.
Mike had been…different. He was more distant and less comfortable with you. Something was eating him up inside. You’d let it slide for the last few days but it was getting continual now and you were desperate to know what was wrong
One Friday evening, you finished early and walked into the house with a smile on your face you walk into the kitchen. Mike looked to be cooking and you walked over, anticipating to surprise him.
You wrapped your arms around him quickly from behind. “Hey.” You greeted and he jumped, completely startled. Usually, he’d laugh it off, call you an “asshole” with a shake of his head. All he did was look over at you like you were insane. He looked back to what he was cooking in the pan and your face faltered and you let go of him.
“Mike, talk to me.” You asked of him, leaning against the counter so you were facing opposite him and crossing your arms.
“There’s nothing to talk about is there?” He asks, knowing well there was as his eyes remained fixed on the pan
“Stop it.” You told him firmly. “Something happened that night that you aren’t telling me and I need to know.”
“Nothing happened.” Mike mumbled, keeping his eyes down.
“Something happened so talk to me.” You told him, your eyes looking to him intensely.
Mike slammed the spatula down in the pan, finally looking up. “You wanna know?” He asked, his voice sharp. He never raised his voice at you.
“Yeah I want to know.” Your raise of voice matching his as you furrowed your brows and stood straighter.
Despite snapping, he was quick to return to his normal isolated behaviour, struggling to get the words out.
“I—“ he hesitated.
“I was blacked out, you were in danger and I couldn’t save you. That’s—that’s all there is too it.” Mike says with a shrug, trying to brush over it.
“Vanessa saved me Mike I’m fine.” You tell him, smiling a little.
“But what if she wasn’t there? I just let him knock me out like that, I saw how scared you and Abby were and I just— you could’ve died!” Mike tried forming his words the best he could, his mind a jumble of thoughts.
“I didn’t though Mike!” You reply, you’re voice loud. You take notice of this and sigh, taking his face in your hands and caressing his cheeks with your thumbs. He had no choice but to look into your tender eyes.
“I’m here. It’s okay.” You say comfortingly, looking to him. Just when you thought he was being assured, his gaze hardens again.
“It’s not okay, you almost died.” Mike told you and he moved your hands from caressing his face. He returns to cooking, his eyes not lifting to look at you.
There’s no talking him out of this, no comfort ever being enough. He blames himself even though you were right there, unharmed.
You sigh and leave the kitchen, frustrated and upset. Will it always be that way now?
As you leave, Mike glances over his shoulder. He thinks about going after you, holding you in his arms. You were right, you were alive and you were right there.
He doesn’t do this. Instead looking back to the food in the pan.

Helloo. I just saw the fnaf movie yesterday and it was amazing to me. Wanted to ask if you could write dating/being in love with Mike would include and knowing him since childhood and know what he is going through (because the parents knew each other)
ofc!
DATING MIKE SCHMIDT WOULD INCLUDE
Tumblr media
MIKE SCHMIDT X READER
— Naturally from his past Mike was fairly shaken up throughout his childhood yet you remained his friend, attempting to give him some normality and continue to experience childhood.
— He appreciated you for it, you were the only person he could confine in without being told to “move on”. You knew how Garett’s death had affected Mike and didn’t try to give him useless advice.
— It took Mike awhile to admit his feelings for you despite how many years he’d held them in for. He was patient, believing due to his lack of relationship experience and his nightmare fuelled nights he’d be no good for you.
— Mike also valued your friendship meaning he’d rather push away whatever he felt for you in order to keep your friendship. However that promise to himself didn’t last long and luckily his feelings were reciprocated.
— At first he was awkward around giving affection but he soon got comfortable with it once he realised you were comfortable too.
— It took him a few weeks to say “I love you” despite the fact he’d loved you for years. It was easier in his head. After he said it once with certainty, he said it more frequently.
— He’ll give you lingering kisses on your forehead and found it comforting and reassuring. He’ll give you quick kisses on the cheek and lips before work followed by “I love you.”
— (might make an imagine for this) Of course there are his nightmares where he’d flinch awake. You hug him from behind and kiss the back of his neck until he relaxes. He never really falls back asleep but he enjoys your comfort, assured you’re still there with him. Somewhere in the night you’ll stir and turn over, unknowingly letting go of him. He’ll end up turning over and hugging you from behind instead, his head resting just beneath your shoulder.
— After his experience at Freddy’s he likes having you close. He likes knowing where you are and will give you frequent texts to ask how you’re doing. Sometimes Mike worries he does this too much but the underlying fear of losing you is constant.
— Most dates are spent at his house, the two of you preferring the comfort of the home instead of a restaurant. You’ll get takeaway, throw on some shitty movie neither of you probably won’t enjoy but won’t mention and eventually fall asleep against each other on the couch. Usually you’ll only go to restaurants on special occasions; on yours, Mike’s or Abby’s birthday or an anniversary.
— You sometimes babysat Abby before and after getting with Mike and she loves you. She seizes any opportunity to tease Mike about you.
— You and Mike both have a sarcastic sense of humour and usually it makes up some amusing conversations between the two of you, meaning a lot of banter.
— Overall Mike is comfortable with you and can sometimes be protective and defensive which he apologises for. It’ll always comes down to the risk of losing you.

(found the gif on pinterest but the link said it was from tumblr and idk the acc that posted so if anyone knows lmk pls!)
MIKE SCHMIDT X READER
— AFTER THE INTERESTING EXPERIENCE AT FREDDY FAZBEAR’S PIZZERIA, MIKE’S LIFE WAS COMING TOGETHER.
Mike’s younger sister Abby remained in his custody, William was dead, Vanessa was receiving treatment in hospital, his mind was no longer plagued with the same repetitive nightmare and he’d finally gotten another job with no hiccups so far. He’d also got you.
You stayed over frequently and Abby adored you. You originally began as her babysitter, living conveniently next door. Mike asked you to babysit her and the two of you grew closer from then on yet there was attraction evident between each interaction. It was only until Mike’s experience at the pizzeria was when he finally spoke upon his interest in you, his near death experience making him more decisive and slightly more confident than he was before.
Luckily, this new job required no night shifts. However, he did have to wake early.
The alarm clock chimed at 6 o,clock sharp and he groaned, reaching over to the alarm clock to turn it off with his free arm, the other arm firmly wrapped around you.
He sighed before bringing his head back down to rest against the pillow and hold you closer, wrapping both his arms around you now. One of your legs rested over his waist and your arms rested loosely at his sides. Mike never pictured himself in love or to find it; never finding himself social enough to do so. You were his neighbour and he was obligated to be friendly to you in a sense but to develop a relationship with you was completely different.
He slowly opened his eyes, his hand coming to caress your hair. Your brows furrowed and your eyes remained closed, slightly annoyed he’d woken you up.
“Just because you’re in work early doesn’t mean I am.” You mumbled. A quiet laugh left Mike’s lips and his eyes widened slightly. “Damn, didn’t think you’d be that grumpy about it.” He replied, his voice slightly hoarse and sleepy.
“I wanted to say bye before I go.” Mike tells you, waiting for your eyes to open.
“Well goodbye.” You groan, turning over and leaving Mike’s embrace, your back now facing him. He sighed before wrapping his arm around your waist once more and laying closer to you. He sat up a little, enough to lean over and press a tender kiss behind your ear and neck. For someone who had lacked in relationships and physical touch he surely knew how to show affection.
“That was a shitty goodbye.” He tells you and a smile graces your lips at the disappointment evident in his voice.
“Come on.” He tugged at your shoulder lightly. You turned over and now lay on your back. Your eyes opened and met Mike’s deep brown ones. He was propped up on his arms, leaning slightly over you.
He looked to you, a soft smile on his lips before he leaned in and pressed his lips to yours. Your eyes closed once more slowly and your hands came to caress his face, your fingers gently running over his cheeks. His hand brushed past the shirt you wore, coming to rest on your waist and his thumb traced circles into your skin.
The two of you kissed for a while, your lips kissing every inch of his; it’s what he craved every morning. Reluctantly, Mike pulled away from the kiss and leaned back to look at you.
“I love you.” He told you quietly. It’d taken him a while to say and he still didn’t feel entirely comfortable saying it but he wanted you to know he meant it.
“I love you too, but you’re gonna be late.” You say with a laugh. Mike averts his gaze to the clock and sighs before leaning down and giving you one more quick chaste kiss.
“Alright, alright. Remember Abby’s—“ you finished his sentence, knowing the usual routine. “—Abby’s lunch and she needs to be at school by eight thirty, I know.”
You usually looked after Abby in the mornings and whenever you could which helped Mike a lot and he appreciated you for it. “Thank you.” He tells you, giving your waist a light squeeze before letting go of it and getting out of bed.
He got dressed and you curled up in bed once more, shutting your eyes and turning away from the window where light streamed through the curtains. Mike looked back at you and walked over, leaning down and pressing a kiss on your forehead and cheek.
He loved you so much.
“Okay bye.” He whispered, watching a smile form on your lips after he kissed you. He smiled himself at the sight of you before leaving the room, longing for the weekend where he didn’t have to set any alarm and could remain in bed with you.
