it feels like a ghost. it’s something familiar, lingering in the back of his throat. but they’re dark, like living in the aphotic zone—there’s no sunlight leaking from her. she’s haunting, something dually familiar. the sharp angles of the mask—he stared at the second sister’s mask long enough for it to live forever. but that’s not it. it’s not the visage of familiarity, it’s something deeper. the terror of waking trust, dwelling of disintegration and seizing grief. there’s another life you know her in, there’s a you and her in another timeline, another life where you and her are safe and happy. this is not that time. hand resting to his saber, clench of his jaw.
