Kerry smiled a little at how she brushed off his comment about being nervous without even acknowledging it, like it was nothing. No need for it. Just the thought of that gave him a certain sense of serenity.
Instead of answering her question immediately, he chortled. "Basically, I opened up a map, found a city as far away from Liberty City as possible, and got on a train. And then a different train. And a bus, I'm pretty sure." He didn't feel too much like showing all his cards about what happened in Liberty City. Too early in the game. Even Geoff didn't know. He hadn't asked, and Kerry hadn't felt inclined to share.

Griffon thought about her… where she grew up. Always cold in the winter. Walking through the snow in shoes because her boots were too small. Winter coats that were patched and nearly thread bare… “No there was snow and it sucked. I was never warm. And a lot of time with Geoff was spent in the cold. Drinking whiskey for warmth,” she laughed and shook her head. “Give me heat and sunshine for days. I used to joke that we should try our hand in Mexico. How’d you get out here from LC?”

"Office has been okay," Kerry said noncommittally. "Kinda weird socially, though, you know? It's weird being the new guy with a bunch of people who've worked together forever. The work is fun though," he conceded. "Always something new."
In response to her comment about decorations, he chuckled. "No, I'm from Liberty City. Pretty different weather-wise. Where're you from, if it's okay to ask?"
Kerry's eyes widened in shock, affronted by her distaste when it came to snow. "How can you say that? Snow's amazing. I love snow. I miss snow." He sighed wistfully, but his pensive mood was brought down by her next question. "I don't really know what to do about a tree this year, honestly. I used to get one with my girlfriend when I lived in Liberty City, but without someone to share it with...I mean, what's the point, you know?" He smiled a little sadly to himself. "Sorry if I'm talking too much," he added, suddenly aware of just how much he'd been babbling. "I think I'm a little nervous," he explained with an uneasy little chortle.

"Do you get a tree or anything?" she asked. Her and Geoff had a tiny tree that they set up. She briefly considered getting a real tree and making the boys carry it to the apartment… maybe while she was out she’d keep her eye out for any cool looking decorations.

OUT OF FAKE
Feel free to text Kerry anytime!
I'd imagine he has most of your numbers, although he doesn't have Griffon's. If for some reason you think he wouldn't have your number, please message me and we'll figure out how he can get it!

Kerry smiled at her nervously. On top of being absolutely gorgeous, Griffon was pretty fucking intimidating. She was muscular and tattooed, and looked like she could kick his ass with ease. Though they'd met before, he wasn't used to her in the slightest.
"Hey Griffon," he replied in a voice that was much squeakier and more feminine than he'd have liked. "Yeah, let's'a go." He just couldn't pass up the Mario reference, despite how uneasy his stomach felt.
He hopped into her van, turning to check the back. Seemed like everything would have a place, and hopefully not break on the ride home. Kerry just hoped Griffon didn't drive like a crazy person. In his experience, criminals, or even spouses of criminals, didn't have much regard for the rules of the road.

Griffon emailed Kerry back saying she was outside and ready to go. She was dressed business casual which probably surprised half her building. She’d been shleping it for awhile with the insane amount of work she was doing. She programed their stops into her phone while she waited.
She glanced at the sky. Cloudy, but there wasn’t rain in the area which was good since they were moving things that couldn’t get wet. Griffon put her hair up as the van door opened. “Hey Kerry,” she said with a smile. “Ready to go?”

Kerry had been staring at a blank document open on his computer screen for the past ten minutes. He'd promised himself he was going to write today, but he was too nervous about the upcoming job to do much of anything.
Kerry had met Jack on video conferences when he was going through the rigorous process of admittance to the crew, though he'd only talked to him once in person. It was Kerry's understanding that he'd been on some sort of extended leave, but to where or for why he had no idea.
Ryan, however, was a new egg. Kerry had only caught glimpses of him, in his office or standing in some dark, shadowy corner for no good reason. Kerry had begun to suspect that he did it just to scare people. He certainly scared Kerry.
Thus, it was with apprehension that Kerry approached one of his bosses and an actual, real-life murderer when Jack called his name. "Uh, hi," he managed. "Hey, guys."
Mission Impossible

“Which is why I’ve recruited a little extra help,” he said. He turned his head so that he faced the entire department.
“Kerry Shawcross!” He shouted. “Come on out here and say hello!”

Kerry pulled out his phone and checked and re-checked his list for the fourth time. He wanted to get all the new equipment in one go, so he wouldn't have to worry about it anymore.
He'd been making due for a few months with the tech they had at the office, but honestly, it was negligible compared to what he was used to. Kerry had recently "resigned" from a very cushy, high-paying gig with a very wealthy "business" corporation out in Liberty City. Before he could receive his "severance package", Kerry had hightailed it to the West Coast and hadn't looked back.
He'd been lucky enough to connect with the Fake AH Crew through some mutual friends, and as they were sorely lacking on the technology side of things, he'd eventually been allowed to join the crew. He was still very new, of course, but he'd been getting the hang of things...probably.
The office was a little scarce, tech-wise, though. He'd made due for a couple of months, but last week he'd gone to Geoff and practically begged him for an upgrade. Geoff agreed to give him the money, but told him he'd have to do the rest.
Kerry had contacted Geoff's wife, Griffon. He really didn't know too much about her, and was actually pretty surprised that she'd agreed to take him. It was pretty nice of her, really.
Kerry swung his legs in his desk chair. They were a little too short to reach the floor because he kept his chair on its highest setting. He liked it this way. It helped him get his extra energy out without disrupting his work.
Kerry sent Griffon an email because he didn't have her phone number.
We still meeting outside the warehouse at 3?
He checked the clock. 2:45. He hoped he didn't have the time wrong. God, would that be embarrassing.

She also figured that while they were out she’d upgrade her phone. Between work, her personal life, her contacts sending information, and anything else, her phone ran out of storage fast. She’d researched her phone earlier while eating lunch and decided the upgrade was worth it. And it gave her more purpose for going.
