Look at it from a Gamilas point of view: your planet is doomed and suitable planets to colonize are 1/1,000,000. But you found one that’s suitable with a bit of work, even though it is really gd far away, and it’s your planet’s only hope. There are natives but they are primitive and who cares, your culture is better and more advanced and one must be ruthless to survive. So you go through with the gamilasforming and it’s going nicely, when the comparatively stone age natives launch an antique boat into space right towards you, with the most inexplicably state of the art warp tech and weaponry ever seen. They went from unable to do more than make a plinking noise as their pathetic shots bounced from your hulls to suddenly able to shoot you down with one shot and then blow up your entire continent-base. And with all that power, they still fire… actual cannons. Pieces of metal. From their weird antique boat. They have a Hawking radiation cannon and still practically hurl stones from slingshots. Who would do that? For that matter who would give that level of technology to savages who still do that? Oh. Ohh. My neighbor.
New trailer for Chapter 6 of Yamato 2202 is out. Damn you and those violins, Abelt Dessler. You know I want to hate you, and 2199 made it so easy. If you go full hero like your predecessor and then sacrifice yourself I will never forgive you.
what she means: the Entire Point ™ of the original star wars trilogy was that Luke Skywalker, the truest Jedi there ever was, did NOT follow the ways of the old Jedi and made his own way. Where his masters told him not to help his friends, not to be attached, not to try and save his father, he DID all of those things, all while staying true to himself and to the light side, using that attachment and love and care to do so. Pop culture and casual Star Wars fans all seem to ignore this fact and idealize the old Jedi ways, even while hating on the prequels, and in doing this they fail to understand the entire moral of the original trilogy. Luke Skywalker is one of the best characters in film history and him and his character arc and significance being so widely misunderstood is just an utter tragedy
