Book seven!
They finally went on their date :') It was really cute seeing them try their best, and they're getting to know each other better.
I do also like that he's struggling with how intrusive his magic is. Can't wait to see how that shakes out in the next volume.

I see what everyone meant about the farming arc 👀 Chu Wanning suffering is so so good. I devoured this in a day, I love this series so much.
I don't know much about the upcoming wedding arc, so we'll see how much pain we're in for later.

I finished it the next day, but unpacking and baby and work, etc. You know how it is.
This was such a beautiful story. I'm still thinking about it and it's going to stick with me for a while.
This was such a satisfying conclusion to a hauntingly beautiful apocalypse.
Remember, An Zhe died for our sins. 😔
The extras were everything?? I know people complain about their relationship not having enough content, but just knowing he's being bullied by his husband on their eternal road trip? Very good.
I hope they find the cave, but I do like the openendedness of that, the uncertainty, because that's what the whole thing was about.

Peep my beautiful stickers 😌 I was lucky enough to meet the artist at a con a couple years ago and snatched up so many stickers.
I'm really liking this series. I'm officially back in my scifi era this month.

I do love that he calls him "his majesty" and prince and the like. Very good trope, one of my favorites. I call my nibling "my liege"; we are brothers in arms.

First book of 2024 and the first book I've finished in my new room~
I bought this whole series a couple years ago when a local game shop had a going out of business sale. (The owners were married and one of them cheated so it was only there for like. a year before they fell apart. Which sucks because it was pretty cool.)
I started it yesterday right before bed in celebration of national scifi day.
My best friend showed me the first episode of this in middle or high school, and I always meant to get back to it but never did.
I really like it so far! Rat's kind of bitchy, but I love that about him. I love his rats.
Volume one is exposition and the turning point, so I have no idea where we're going. The world is a basic dystopia, and the villain so far couldn't be more cartoon government villain if he tried, but it's not boring. The basics are there for the upcoming plot.
I have so many questions. Besides what's going on with the bees (why is it always bees). How does Rat communicate with his buddies (also rats). When he said "people like us don't have rights", was he talking everyone not chosen by the government/city, or does Shion have some weird animal affinity too? Is there a bee person out there killing people?
It was fun, I like the characters, and I'll be reading the next book soon.

Book 53 of 2023, the last one.
I finished this ages ago, but life has been relentless.
Ironically, I bought this a while ago but just recently got to reading it. Halfway through, I found out the manhua started, so excellent timing.
I devoured this book. I love absolutely everything about it. It's tragic and looks at humanity in their decline, struggling and hoping to beat the odds despite everything. It is a bleak world, but the people in it are so human.
I'm getting ready for bed rn, so I'm having a hard time putting everything into words, but this book made me /feel/ so much. I loved every character, but my mushroom boy is precious in my heart. I love following his journey.

Well, definitely didn't reach all the reading goals this year. Good news though! Almost all done with the move. With my new much larger room, I was able to fulfill a life-long dream of having a wall full of bookcases. Maybe some day when I have my own place, I'll be able to have a full library....
