It’s probably because they were so ready to fight. These gems both tried to kill Steven. But know they are fighting for him. They attacked the DIAMONDS.
They’ve grown so much. Yes, Garnet poofing was very disturbing because we hadn’t seen a gem get poofed that way before
Lapi and Peri poofing was much more emotional (imo)
