“I am a woman built upon the wreckage of myself ”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"And I think I like myself a little broken, with rough edges, a little harder to grasp."
but
I want to be loved
and the world wants to love soft things
not cruel and violent things
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and for once i think.. it hurts to be what i want to be
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i've heard them say that
Tumblr media
but i want to be loved so much; i do not know how it feels like, so
“From my rotting body, flowers shall grow”
Tumblr media
but the flowers, will have been invented; and they shall be only a mere mirage
Tumblr media
forgive me;
“Can you hate someone for what they have done, but still love them for whom they had been?”
Tumblr media
shall I like myself softer and prettier?
is it better that way?

i don’t think love at first sight exists but i think you feel something. not just romantically, but when you meet anyone who’s going to be important to you…anything stronger than what you were feeling before, without even knowing it. attraction, dislike, whatever. something you might forget the next day but in that moment it’s something. like a little jolt in ur chest idk.

i love the concept of horrifying angels and religious horror imagery because the lines between beauty and horror and terror and ecstasy are fine enough that finding that place where the grotesque and frightening and the divine and awesome (as in awe-inspiring) meet can create some really powerful concepts, but nothing has ever had quite the same effect on me as the silt verses' crab angels. like. eldritch horror angels are incredible but something about applying holiness to mundane things that a lot of people find too ugly and disgusting to even contemplate unlocked new emotions in my brain. like THAT'S what religious horror is all about. the conflicting feelings of revulsion and reverence. the need to make that which is earthly and ordinary and unpleasant into something divine, sacred and perfect in order to avoid fully processing the terror it evokes.

pop culture intertextuality is just so damn *fascinating*
today a parody movie (50 shades of black) comes out, based on the 50 shades of grey movie, which was based on the 50 shades book, which was based on twilight, which was somewhat based on interview with the vampire (which anne rice based on an earlier short story she wrote), which was based on Dracula and other vampire stories, which originally came from Dr. John Polidori’s The Vampyre (even though Vampires were a thing in folk tales before then, he was the one who made them all classy, etc.)
so really, like so many things, this is all Lord Byron’s fault.

i think one of my favorite parts of the all too well short film was the difference in how they argued. it truly showed the age gap. she was more passionate and present about the fight and the words said, begging and pleading— set with a blazoned innocence while he was so distant and over it before it even began. a dismiss of the hand as if speaking to a toddler instead of your partner that is hurt and confused and just wanting some of that passion in return. god, so well done.

“It’s supposed to be fun, turning 21″
and that’s why 22 exists. I always thought 22 was such a random age to praise, but she celebrated 22 the way she should’ve celebrated 21.

Just a friendly reminder that I would never have thought it was possible to go back and remake my previous work, uncovering lost art and forgotten gems along the way, if you hadn’t emboldened me. Red is about to be mine again, but it has always been ours. Tonight we begin again. Red (my version) is out now.

Six Sentences Sunday Oct, 31
From my new upcoming fic Why I Hate the Winter: The List of a Lovesick Fool.
Riven rummaged through his old clothes and dug out a worn-out, faded sweatshirt with the number 2 on the back.
“Are you for real?” she asked ten minutes later with the sweatshirt of another life reaching her mid-thigh. Like when they were younger, it was still too big on her. The sleeves engulfed her hands and the high school logo brushed her ribs and not the chest, as it should be.
Riven shrugged, knowing very well what he just did. “It’s our make-up sweatshirt, after all.”

I find it impossibly funny that Bloom is our protagonist and presented as this very powerful fairy, but fire is arguably the least deadly of the fairy powers.

The Four Stages of Moving In
Step Three: Throw Away Anything That Seems Remotely Bewitched
Riven sports ugly bags under his eyes that morning, not even coffee can cheer him up. The second night is very much the same; Musa revisits her old catalog: Chopin, Mozart, Beethoven… it’s a full, blown-out party of dead people. Riven considers burning the piano with the box of matches he finds in a cabinet.
“I swear I will,” he threatens, the flame nearing dangerously close to the instrument. “If you don’t stop with your fucking sonatas I’ll keep myself warm this winter.”
The bell rings and that’s how Musa’s piano is saved from arson: thanks to a TV from the XXI century with unlimited channels.
CHAPTER THREE IS OUT NOW! Thanks for reading.

Six Sentences Sunday Oct, 24
From my new upcoming fic Why I Hate the Winter: The List of a Lovesick Fool.
Riven didn’t hear the rustle of the sheets nor the soft footsteps approaching him from behind. Musa’s cheery morning voice was another pinch of salt to the wound.
“Are you done talking to the council?” she joked, rubbing her arms.
“Somehow, I forgot about your bat’s hearing,” he said. “Are you cold?”
The sweatshirt he had lent her didn’t cover her long legs.

i just got home from seeing birds of prey and i’m just so ANGRY ok like every time i see a movie/tv show written/directed by women, starring women, made for women, i leave the theater feeling so HYPE and SEEN and like i can do ANYTHING and the way women love MATTERS, like hustlers and little women and the witcher made me want to eat the world RAW, and i just feel so much RAGE because this is how men get to feel ALL THE TIME about NEARLY EVERYTHING EVER MADE and they don’t even REALIZE it, they have no idea the world could or should be ANY DIFFERENT no wonder men can be such entitled MONSTERS they think everything is FOR THEM because it IS
