Have you ever considered getting into something like directing? Did she? How’d she like that? Yeah, I would definitely consider doing it again. Who knows, we’ve got a new album coming out soon, there may be more videos coming that I can get my hands in to fiddle with.

I’m really happy for you. It’s good to have found that and are enjoying that!

Me? No, not really. I’m not made to lead a whole set and tell everyone what they should be doing. It’s a little different for theatre plays, I enjoy directing those, but it’s more giving ideas and watching the actors bring them to live or bring their own interpretation to the table. Ashley is amazing in the director’s seat, however, I admire her work greatly. Oh, I can see you wanting to try again, and perhaps finding other ways to go about it, too. You’re creative like that. 

I quite liked it, I can see your influence, but it’s very tonally sound. 

I never thought I’d ever say that, or be married - I was never the type - but she’s it for me, and... it felt right. Still does, and hopefully will forever.

Ah, come on, you knew that me having a little bluff about it was going to happen. And your blush when I showed you it for the first time was priceless. Inquiring minds want to know if I agree you’re Margot Robbie’s best kiss? To judge that, I’d need to kiss all the actors she’s kissed…

You might be right that it is a great compliment. But maybe she’s not the one I’d love to hear it from. 

Luckily for me you had your phone in hand, and not ready to take a picture, I don’t think I have that great a tomato impression. Better for it to not be immortalised in a picture.

No, not quite. Love is also from a distance, while love and attention are certainly to be experienced as closely as possible. Wouldn’t you agree?

I’m surprised she even still remembers that, seeing how we shot that film in 2016. But I can’t complain too much, seeing who he co-stars have been over the years.

I was always fairly hands-on when we were shooting our music videos. Always had these ideas in my head for everything and with this I just finally took the leap and tried it, y’know? The band and crew were all super supportive and helped ease me into the whole process. But yeah, when I get the chance I’d love to do it again.

Yeah, I can understand why you would want to make that move. Ashley did it, too - and she worked really hard to get things done while directing. It’s a whole other experience than simply being in front of the camera. How did you like it? I can imagine it was a thrill, if you feel like you want to go for it once more. 

Oh good, I’ll have to check it out, give you a proper review and all that. 

I’ll let you know, mate. Honestly, I feel like everything I went for, everything I’ve tried, no matter how much I fretted about it beforehand, served a purpose somehow. But I couldn’t possibly tell you what the scariest thing was so far. 

I actually like being married. It’s just a step up from being in love and living with your best friend.

I got to dip my toes into directing with our latest music video and I gotta tell you, I had no idea whether I’d be able to do it or just do a terrible job with it. Now I’m just thrilled it’s out for people to see. What’s the coolest thing y’all ever did that you had never done or tried before?

Look at you diversifying your portfolio. What gave you the idea to go for it? I think it’s really amazing that you went for it, and did your utmost to deliver a great product. Can we see the video already?

Getting married, I suppose? I’m joking. I’m not sure, I’ll have to think about it.
