I normally post about sports but I need to speak up.

Today marks the 27th shooting to happen in the U.S just this YEAR. There is a fucking problem here called gun control. We lead all countries in shooting by a SIGNIFICANT margin. Today parents had to go home from the school without their babies forever. In Buffalo, a child is blowing out their birthday candles without their parent. In Parkland, Valentine’s Day will never be the same again. In Connecticut, families are watching other children in the town walk into high school while their children will forever be in first grade. Do you see the problem? People are dying at the hands of lawmakers refusing to acknowledge that guns need to be regulated. Why in fucks name are automatic rifles even for sale to anyone who wants one? I encourage everyone who can to go VOTE, vote out the lawmakers who are anti- gun control. Go to protests, sign petitions, write letters, spread awarness, call lawmakers. We need to be as loud as we can to combat the people trying to silence us.

Jfc, just saw the news about the school shooter. These kids were all under 12 years old! They were babies and every single fucking person opposing gun control is responsible for their deaths.

To be completely honest i would not be shocked at all if the reason the team struggled so much was because of the fact that a group of players can’t even do the bare minimum to show solidarity to their POC teammates. as much as I wud love to watch the game I cud not due to work and time. Here are my thoughts:

Ok great Carli helped win the game but I’m gonna be honest.. don’t give two fucks. She can’t even do the bare MINIMUM for blm. And greattt she scored but also was selfish asf and missed some OBVIOUS passes to wide open people. Therefore, I cannot support a player who is in my opinion a shit person! Have a lovely evening and god bless Megan rapinoe.

Well I didn’t watch the game but I saw the score. My hotakes:

Guys we still are competing for a medal. For how horrid of a tournament we had that’s something.

Anyone blaming Tierna and AD can go respectfully fall off a damn cliff.

And for the love of Jesus Christ the tournament isn’t even over can everyone shut up about retirements for Carli yes it’s probably happening we get it and Megan who knows, but for Alex Tobin and Chris guys the olympics is only in 3 years they’ll all be 35-36 it’s possible they will get to play. And the 2023 World Cup is only in 2 let’s all take a minute and settle down. Nowhere has ANY player announced this is their last major tournament.

And finally the players all probably feel guilty and are upset hating or bullying them won’t help. Idk what to say about vlatko but shit happens coaches make bad choices but it’s never completely a coaches fault.

I’m a uswnt fan and this is wrong. Never make fun of players for missing a PK especially when Viv put the Netherlands on her BACK.

Whole midfield- ok not gonna lie I barely remember much of anything from the midfield bc of the fact that I was too busy screaming at the defense and jumping around my living room but I saw some great defensive plays and Linds and tobs linked up well. Also Sam THATS HOW U USE UR HEAD THATTA GIRL. Rosie idk I bet she did something good again I’m still on a emotional high.

Kelley and Abby..... hahaha... y’all gave me a few heart attacks. Whatever we won... but hey vlatko tierna start next game 🙏Abby has just made me worried this whole olympics and y’all... I think it was them who let viv do viv things.

Megan- came to play. Worked her ass off also and was def the best from that front three that subbed in. She’s such a great sub. I will say it till I die she needs to always be a super sub she’s so much better as one. She comes on and gives us some fire and I think vlatko made a great choice subbing her in instead of starting her.

Quick note: I missed Julie but she was also incredible!! Love her🙏thank god for Julie ertz

I’m working today so I had my friend log in and help me but on my break I didn’t completely agree with what they were saying about the game compared to others opinions. I watched the highlights and reading what people are saying.... yeah we’ve got some shit to sort out if we wanna win.

Alright I’m bored af so I’m gonna give my starting lineup predictions for Australia. Just spent 20 minutes removing almost all social media so when I wake up watch the game it won’t be spoiled.

Defense: Kelley, Crystal, Becky, Tierna.... ok hear me out on this one Abby has been very inconsistent and not her self the last two games so I feel as tho baby T deserves the start and Abby needs to rest... then again I wouldn’t be surprised if Abby starts.

Middies- I wanna go with Sam, Kristie, Julie. Now this is the section I’m most unsure of. I’m really going going to assume he’s resting Rose and Linds but I’m not 100 percent sure. I’m pretty confident Sam will start and Julie I’m also not sure of. I honestly as much as I want Julie to start I wud hope she rests but then again we kinda need her... Kristie I’m really only throwing in here bc I want her to start so bad😅

Forwards- this one is pretty easy I’m going with Chris, Megan, and Alex. Tobin needs rest and will prolly come on eventually as a sub while Carli prolly also will but she has struggled so I’m not postive she will. I think Lynn is still hurt so I ruled her out. Hope she cud play tho bc i love her as a person and her speed cud help with this game.

And goalie I’m very confident Alyssa will start again no need to explain this one.

Anyways gonna delete tumblr for the night so I don’t spoil anything go USA!!!

Quick thoughts:

- Becky and Tierna need to be the starting center-backs for the remainder of this tournament. Abby can sub in as needed (aka when we have an established lead) but she has been unbelievably unimpressive thus far.

- So proud of Tobes and Julie for playing a full 90 and being so effective in this game. They’re imperative to this team and to see them play so well was great.

- Alex and Christen playing up top and getting their goals was so important. Two players that once they start they’re damn near impossible to stop.

- Lindsey scored in her 100th cap! Happy for her!

- ROSE. LAVELLE. Seeing her in her 2019 WWC form for the first time in a long time was a breath of fresh air. Much like Alex and Christen, once she gets started she’s an absolute problem. To quote Foudy, “good things happen when this girl is involved.”

- Carli could have easily been player of this damn game if she was physically capable of staying on sides today. Messy, messy game from her. She has a history of being SO. GOOD. in tournaments for this team so I hope she rectifies her problems because we could really use her. Especially with the situation we have put ourselves in with that loss on Thursday.

- OLYMPIANS CASEY KRUEGER AND CATARINA MACARIO! 😭😭😭😭😭
