A sudden week of cold,
unexpected in the lingering summer,
came like snowfall from a clear sky.
The clocks moved forward an hour
and now night creeps up on me,
she moves like fogged breath.
Winter has come, and you have gone.
.
Something in the way
these heavy blankets hold me
reminds me of a long lost touch.
Something in the dark,
when I'm fueling my car at midnight,
brings back a memory of light.
Something in the cold,
when I step outside into winter's heart,
makes me reach for warm hands.
.
They say that soon the cold will pass,
but I'm not sure I'll know the sun's warmth again.

Once you get this, you have to say five things you like about yourself, publicly. Then you have to send this to ten of your favourite followers (non-negotiable, positivity is cool~) 🌈🌈
Aww thanks
I am quite happy with both my musical taste and musical ability. My musical taste is quite broad and can always bring me joy in harder times, whilst my skills with instruments are the cumulative effort of years of work, which I think is kinda cool.
I like that I'm still a dreamer. The past couple months have been stressful on me, but I continue to dream and make art when I can.
I like that I can work hard at whatever I do. That I can genuinely say that I did my best after each shift at work despite not feeling very passionate about my job.
I like my love of learning. I love learning new things and getting to incorporate them into my world. I've been trying to learn some Japanese lately and it's a lot of fun.
I like my love of animals. I love how much spending time with my cat can motivate me to do better in everything I do.
Thanks again for the ask and sorry it took so long for me to do.

There is a grand piano.
When I press the keys
I feel your heart in the bass.
The steady rhythm
of our Moonlight Sonata.
.
The easy moonlight lays soft
on your calloused hands
as they find a sad refrain.
You rise just to fall.
We ring out in perfect tune.
.
The ringing notes like a kiss
that lingers on lips
and leaves you still wanting more.
The harmony ends
and your sound feels like flying.
.
I am flying by your side.
Each note lands on beat.
Every melody seems to
bleed into the next.
The grand piano played hearts.

The spiral gets tighter and tighter.
The drinks get darker and heavier.
My head feels lighter and lighter.
I trust fall when no one can catch me.
.
The mirror's cracked into four shards.
The shards each show a fantasy or a dream.
The shards are broken into four lies.
My fall reaches a crescendo in the dark.
.
I never want to cry again.
I want to be strong enough to catch myself.
I never want to stop crying.
My fall ends when I lay down but never sleep.

I miss the soaking of rain
through my old school clothes
on a stormy summer day.
.
My skin's been dry for too long.
A year lasts a day.
I've not heard the siren's song.
.
The thunderbolts and lightning
of a life at sea
used to be so enlightening.
.
The storm rages in the dark.
No one feels her touch,
so no one can see her spark.

I read the flecks in your eyes
like how a girl all alone
would read poetry.
.
Your eyes tell an odyssey
of the thousand lies you've heard,
each one a dark star.
.
Somewhere within your iris
there's an epic of pain and
love in equal parts.
.
Eyes like the night sky.
I see the galaxy and
wonder where I could fit in.

Light falls like piano notes.
An angel sleeps in the sun
and I can hear Chopin play
in the other room.
.
Her halo rocks with the breeze
at the start of Für Elise.
Her eyes open just a crack.
Then she fades away.
.
I saw an angel in spring.
Her laughter, a sound so sweet
it would have made Mozart weep.
She left me in spring.

Since the day I lost my maps,
blue, the days have been truly.
Weave fire and air through these cracks,
mend my heart like kintsugi.
.
Shattered porcelain.
A coffee ring stain.
You're the artisan
that could mend my pain.
.
But I will push you away
and lie broken one more day.
