Sketching Session 20 April 2024

Today was a slow day at work so I got out one of my newish sketchbooks and had a sketching Session. No visitors were coming so I got like an hour of sketching done.

The paper is very thin so it isn't good for anything more complex, but it's okay. I just bring it around and hope it's useful when the art urge hits.

I used to draw mostly women back in the day. Lately, I noticed my most recent drawings have only been men. So I was like. Mmh. And decided to sketch some gals or female bodies.

I found the refs on Pinterest, but I could find the credits easily

Reviving some old OCs as an exercise. This is Zephra, who I originally made back in 2018 or so, based on the myth of Iphigenia (specifically the version where she is saved by Artemis). Reference for the pose is by jookpubstock

This was initially supposed to just be a small character exploration (just these face sketches below), but I then wanted to make something more in the splash art style. I had a lot of fun redesigning her, and she'll hopefully make some reappearances later down the line!

Happy Birthday to Sir Nem! Ive really been feeling attached to him lately, he’s one I’ve always wanted to do more with and loved the knight idea for him but felt like I went back and forth with his design a lot (never forget Ginger Sir Nems brief appearance) but now I have really settled into him having sentient alien armor that has a very organic feel to it! I will still draw this version of his design a lot, even though current Sir Nem is meant to have the black armor. I hope these have been enjoyable so far, I’ve had a lot of fun working on them!! Also funny story about the pinker Nemling. I had accidentally coloured them that shade, but felt it still worked really well so I kept it! I had always intended for Nemlings to vary in shades of red/pink anyways! Also…is Sir Nem hiding something about himself ? Or does he himself even know what he really is….

What a big day!….Happy Birthday to the space alien inventor, fanfic extraordinaire, pickle lover, Erica! Sorry I’m posting this a bit late, I had a busy day!…Rollerskating haha. But yes, I know today Nemesis Reborn opened! I’ll be going to the park soon. I just wanted to as is tradition, post Erica’s art today! I’ll do something to commemorate big Nemesis return soon I promise! But yes! Erica, one of my favorite ocs. It’s been fun developing her all these years!

Also of course Miles belongs to my husband Matt! Miles is not my guy, but…in my heart he is my little guy.
