The Coastal Farmhouse - Floorplan Update

The name is a wip but I finished the exterior for this house last night and today we're gonna attempt to get some decorating done which...boy do we got nuff to do lol. I once again went overboard with the size of the house. I honestly think it's because I like to come up with fun concepts for extra rooms like a library or a studio of some kind; they are my favourite spaces to decorate. I don't think I ever showed y'all the revised interior for Surrendale Farms but I'm gonna bring it over to this house. It was very cozy and colourful but I plan to update it to suit another household so we'll try that concept in this house.

Here's hoping I actually get something done today. I think I'll start with the layouts first...

New Simblr ✨

I started this blog a couple days ago and realized I forgot to make a new simblr post, so here it is! I’ve already posted a couple of lookbooks and plan to post mostly lookbooks and my sims. I’m planning on starting an alt blog for CC finds once I get the hang of this tumblr thing :-)

mini-tutorial: fixing pants/stockings texture overlapping

maybe you've had this happening as well. it's rare, but can be very annoying if it happens with pants that you really love but can't use with socks and stockings.

it's a very quick and easy fix. here's a simple explanation how to do it.

open pants in question in sims 4 studio

repeat exactly the same process as when you fixed pants/shirt overlapping

the only difference is sort layer numbers you'll be typing in this time. if it's anything other than 14000 (bugged bottoms most often will have 10400), make it 14000 for each CAS part.

that's it. we've fixed it :)

quick infodump in case someone's curious as to why that happens: creators often use panties as a base, because panties base is comfortable to work with. but panties have texture layer priority lower than stockings, so they go under stockings. and if a creator makes pants or skirt on that base and forgets to change the sort layer to match actual pants, they still go under stockings :)

Everytime the discussion on reblogging comes up i keep seeing some people take it as an opportunity to shit on other people’s blogs and that’s really weird. You wanna bring up the fact that people should reblog more? Yes that’s great but then saying stuff like “The stuff i post is way more edited and i don’t understand why some people barely edit or just post simple gameplay or cas pics and they get more interactions” Like that’s not okay. Cause like at the end of the day this is for fun? Don’t shit on others people’s blogs in your frustration of a lack of interactions. People don’t have to edit their stuff if they don’t want to. This isn’t a competition? Idk that just bothers me

Why is the Sims community boycotting Curseforge?

I've seen a lot of posts going around calling on Simmers to stop using Curseforge, a modding platform that enables creators to monetize their downloads, with plenty of outrage directed toward modders and CC-makers who are still on the platform. But I've also seen a lot of people who are confused about why there are calls for a boycott.

Curseforge is owned by Overwolf, a company that is donating money to the IDF in support of its ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people.

In late October/early November, Overwolf posted a graphic on their social media asking followers to "defend our defenders" by contributing financially to a fundraising drive for the IDF. They were met with backlash and quickly took the graphic down, replacing it with one that used language about raising money for "those effected by the violence in Gaza" (my phrasing may be inexact) but the money is still going to the IDF and not to any agency actually supporting civilians or doing humanitarian work.

If you are using Curseforge in any way -- by hosting your content there or downloading from it -- you are giving money to a company that is raising funds for an ongoing military campaign against a civilian population.

This is why people are calling for a boycott. If you are a modder or CC maker for the Sims, you should remove all of your content from the website and redirect people to other DL sources. If you are a consumer of mods and CC, you should stop clicking curseforge links and send (polite!) messages to modders and CC makers to urge them to pull their content from the site.
