If any of you ever feel like what you're doing for Palestine isn't helping anything, I'll tell you right now it's helping me. I know it is fortifying all of us who have been in this fight for years to see so many people willing to speak up. It has never been like this before.
The tide has already turned. The fact that #free palestine will have new posts everyday, that helps me. It helps my mental health knowing that Palestinians are less alone now than ever.
Yesterday I read some verses from the Quran talking about how "the blame" is not with those who wish to help but cannot, but with those who CAN help and do not.
Truly I do not care if all you do for Palestine is post in that #free palestine everyday, that is still more than many people with the means to do even more would do.
We see you. We see you standing in solidarity with us and with Palestinians. We love you. Thank you.

So apparently KOSA (2024 edition) is getting either thrown out until next year or put into effect in six days.
Update that's going in the main post at the top: it has enough support to pass.
It failed the last two times because people were voting against it.
This time, KOSA has traction among the pro-LGBTQ parties. Because nobody is fucking calling their bullshit and screaming from the rooftops that calling it the "Kids Online Safety Act" is misleading.
What will it passing do?
Nothing much, only prevent any education on LGBTQIA+ (it's that stupid fucking argument about us grooming kids again), shut down nearly every fandom space on the internet, and make it required for most big tech companies to have your ID.
Want to have resources for kids to discover their identity readily available? Yes? Then fucking speak up against this stupid fucking bill.
Fandom spaces like Tumblr, Twitter (? I thought the MAGA assholes liked Musk?), Tiktok, Archive Of Our Own, and any other website that hosts fanfic or fanart? Either shut down permanently, forced to uproot to a different country and down for a while (best case scenario, and they likely won't be able to send any data, and therefore fanfics, to the US), or gutted so that you only get to put G rated cishet ships on there, if any shipping at all. How to avoid that? I've already said it: Call your fucking representatives.
Want to avoid the fucking dystopic task of being legally obligated to give big tech your government issue ID? Again, cause an uproar. Call your goddamned representatives.
If they can pass this, the ripple effects could be catastrophic.
So, for fuck's sake, any Americans that can impact this stupid fucking bill and see this? Do everything in your power to shut it down because you have until February twenty sixth (26th) to send this bill back to where it belongs.
And if you can't do that? Reblog, copy my tags, and boost the signal.
Sorry not sorry for ranting, making you scroll through that, and swearing a probably excessive amount, but KOSA is a bill with a GLOBAL IMPACT being passed by ONE COUNTRY because some old people are scared of two guys with who were told they were girls kissing within five hundred miles of a child. Fuck this shit, I shouldn't have to worry about bad bills in America but I fucking do because I use the internet and would like to avoid mass censorship. Fuck this, fuck conservatives, and fuck the fact that some boomers make your country's policies.
Now, if you won't mind me, I'm going to be up until three in the morning downloading fanfiction or copying and pasting them into a a text file if I can't so I can read them by the end of the week.

You'll need an ID to use any US-based platform, even if you're NOT in the United States.
Instead of dooming, here's what you can do to stop this shit in it's tracks 👍
Here is a website where you can sign a letter just by filling out a form, (it takes less than 30 seconds) and where you can call reps.
I HIGHLY suggest leaving calls if you're able, and if you have phone shyness, do this after 6pm, since it will leave messages instead.

in light of Ayy Lmao being an unreliable source (again, my bad. i didnt know about his own shit), here's some google docs regarding some addressed controversies about Viv:
in regards to the issue about the storyboarder being a 'rape fetishist', i want any adults to ask themselves something:
we all have our kinks. i know i do. do you let your kinks bleed into your work? do you have that little of a grip on your base desires? i can only imagine so, if you think the same of someone else without even knowing them.
real talk, i've been on the internet for a good while by now. and i looked at stuff i wasn't supposed to as far back as middle school, as the monitoring of my internet time was basically nonexistent. probably fucked me up & desensitized me to more stuff than i should be, i admit.
so i say, with my full chest, that i know what fetishization of rape looks like. and nothing of Angel's situation (both in the Addict mv & Poison segment) is fetishized. it is 100% possible to separate your personal desires from your work. (some creeps like dan schneider can't. but there's also a difference between drawing characters, & directing irl ppl who were also minors.)
if you don't believe me, i ask you to listen to the many SA survivors who've expressed their wholehearted approval of the scene. they felt seen in ways that clearly haven't been met in most adult media.
Vivziepop is an SA survivor. how she wants SA to be shown in her own show is her choice. and that includes any throwaway jokes about it. laughing at your own pain is a way to cope.
i suggest getting some media literacy & critical thinking skills.
Just an fyi to my followers who don't follow my Twitter & may not be on the up & up about me:
I work on Helluva Boss. I love both it & Hazbin Hotel, and don't believe the shit people constantly sling at Vivziepop.
Anything that was true, were either things from 10+ years ago, apologized for, taken out of context, or exaggerated to hell.
Edit: (nevermind, i didnt know this guy's history. my bad!) I highly recommend checking out Ayy Lmao's videos on YT regarding her controversies, as they're a neutral party & openly state when they believe Vivzie is in the wrong.
I know a lot of people on here openly hate Vivzie. So if you'd rather not follow me, I get it. But I highly recommend educating yourself to the fullest extent, instead of just believing randos who hate Vivzie & her work just for the sake of hating her.

What is this about the tumblr staff wanting to sell art data to midjourney?
An ex-colleague of mine mentioned yesterday that there may be contacts between Automattic and midjourney in that direction, but nothing is public yet and I don't have any more info. They probably won't have anything specific to share either, since they left the company weeks ago too. That being said:
I have no reason to doubt my ex-coworker word, they are a trustworthy person.
Tumblr's CEO has been absurdly enthusiastic (comically, even) about AI, and is a big fan of LLMs and 'AI' companies.
A deal with midjourney could solve tumblr financial issues (not the same company, but openAi is paying up to 5 million/year to news companies to use their content as training data... tumblr generates several orders of magnitude more content than any newspaper or any media company and it only would need a 20 to 30 million per year deal to be profitable)
So I don't have any extra info yet, but I'm keeping my ears open.
