he's about to say something witty about melting hearts because he's such a sweetie - then gives a sharp little breath as he's shoved backward, stumbling on his feet and making a whole show of coughing and sputtering.
"hey, hey! chill outt!" he hisses, voice breathy and exasperated. "do you act like this toward everybody? i've done nothin' wrong here. my idiot friends back there are a different story, though."
he straightens up, kicking a piece of gravel with his shoe.
"look, i'm just warnin' ya. that's all. truce?"
“if there's a joke here, it's you ! ” she laughs without caring how cruel it sounds, even to her own ears; she laughs until the pain creeps into her ribcage. it was unfair how much she hates him already.
and xuliana hears but doesn't listen. the anger brews enough peroxide to bleach her own bones. she swats his hand away. “does being the 'hottest guy at school' melt your brains ? I don't need your help.”
to emphasize the point, xuliana outright tries to shove him away with full body force.
