“Yes, the only thing I truly noticed was your smile.”
How long has it been since I last wrote here? Was it a year or more? I thought I wouldn't come back here again, but good thing I didn’t delete this blog as I had tempted to.
I almost cried watching their performances of solitude today. I think if whatever whatever happened during those years hadn’t happened, they would have been much bigger than they are now. But well, the important thing was that they both got past it.
Hope there will be a new single this winter.

What can I say, KK music is really the best to listen to when one is feeling mellow / romantic and it's raining outside :)

It's so heartwarming, seeing KK mentioned as one of the J groups that will survive their 30th anniversary (^^)
They'll be on some big upcoming music festival, which I forgot the the name and date, but I hope they'll sing Topaz love!

Someone is selling Knights Tale ticket at 350,000 yen (about 3200 usd) o_O The original price is 13500 yen… Not sure if this is just an isolated case or not, but still pretty crazy.
Back when the sale was first open on KK fan club, people were reselling tickets at about 120,000 yen (which gain KK fan community some criticism from Yoshio fans btw), and I thought that was crazy. Now this o_O Will it reach 500,000 yen someday?

Group work is tiring, demanding, cutting of practice time and rest time blah blah blah, but solo work is all OK? @_@ Some onlies' mentality is so difficult to understand =_=

(Already posted this once, but somehow it got deleted so repost)
Koichi’s show with GYAO will start on Jun.8th! Title is “Ko-chan, kore yatteminai?” (Ko-chan, how about trying this out?)
The title is sooo cute! “Ko-chan” (≧∇≦)/And he looks really good in that promo pic (///▽///)
Seems like it’ll be a bit similar to Pikaichi (same producer btw), where Koichi will challenge himself in various things based on the staff’s “unreasonable requests” :)
The show will have 6 episodes, so it’ll end before Knights’ Tale starts a week or so. So it’s practice time cut even shorter, I guess? Well, but it can’t be help. This is probably part of Knights’ Tale promotion plan in the first place anw… Episode 0 was aired on GYAO, and Koichi was on Asadesu promoting this on Jun.6, but I haven't watched neither. But from the cuts and screenshots, he looks really happy! 楽しみ~!

Domoto Koichi at Knights’ Tale press conference 2018.05.31
2018.06.02
Knights’ Tale news!
_
Tumblr media
On May.30, Toho announced that the Imperial Theatre will be closed from Jun.29 to Jul.24 for renovation. A major one, it seems.
That will make Knights’ Tale (will be opened on Jul.27) the first play / musical to be performed at the new Imperial Theatre!
And back in 2011, the play performed on Imperial Theatre’s 100th anniversary (it was opened on 1911.03.01) was Endless SHOCK.
The bond / connection between Koichi and the Imperial Theatre is quite unique huh :)
_
As mentioned, Knights’ Tale was held on May.31, and made some headlines on Japan’s wideshow and newspapers on Jun.1. Some links (from twt @Emma_524):

Seating arrangement is... interesting:
Tumblr media
Koichi was seated right in the middle, flanked by John Caird and Yoshio. Somehow this reminds me of The Final Supper, even if the number doesn’t match @_@
This seems very... formal. Are press conferences for stage plays in Japan are always like this? Fullmetal Alchemist press conferences were not this formal...
Toho really does invest a lot of money into Knights’ Tale. Part of the Imperial Theatre’s innovation must be for fitting the machineries used in Knights’ Tale. The pressure must be sky high for the cast and staff. At least tickets sale has been great so far, Koichi and Yoshio ensure of that ;D
Tumblr media
Mone Kamishiraishi was absent, so her cardboard cut was used instead (^_^;)
Tumblr media
The main figures of Knights’ Tale (left to right): David Parsons (from Parsons Dance Company, choreographer), Inoue Yoshi (lead actor), Domoto Koichi (lead actor), John Caird (screenplay, director). The composer, Paul Gordon, for some reason was not present.
These kinds of press conferences are generally quite boring, but here are some highlights (for me):
John Caird: Both Yoshio and Koichi have great charisma, as well as the power of being the lead actor on their own. To write a musical for two male leads with equal power like them is very challenging. Knights’ Tale respects the original work, but also includes elements of the modern age. Dancing is a quite important factor of this work.
Koichi expressed his excitement and nervousness being able to work with such a decorated ensemble staff and cast.
Yoshio said he initially thought he’d have the chance to welcome Koichi in his home ground, but he was not so confident anymore after hearing it was a dance musical. He admitted he’s not good at dancing. He was also worried about building muscles, and Koichi offered to help him with muscle training.
Koichi and Yoshio both have sharp tongues, and are nicknames “wicked princes” by the co-star (^_^;).
