a video call for help from @haya-orouq19 who is in gaza
[Transcript: Please don't scroll if you want to help a family in Gaza. Hey everyone, this is Haya Orouq, I am 18 years old from Gaza City. Today is the 167th day of the war in Gaza City. And through this war we lost our house, my university was bombed. My whole childhood neighborhood area was completely damaged. We have been displaced to three different places in search of a safer place but unfortunately there's no safer place in Gaza. Everywhere there's bombing, everywhere is dangerous, so we are now displaced in Deir al-Balah. And me and my family lost everything, we have nothing left here in Gaza.
And my mom is very sick also, she is suffering from Lupus and because she has Lupus, she is a kidney failure patient in need of an urgent treatment and care outside of Gaza. The hospitals here is so poor and bad and the quality of her treatment is getting worse and worse because the quality of the hospitals is bad, because of the conditions of the war. So please guys, help my family, we deserve to- we deserve a decent life, we deserve to start a new beginning and deserve a new life.
So, here's the link in the bio and you can help me by sharing the video, repost, comment, like, whatever you can do can help. Every one dollar can make a difference. You can make life-changing difference to my family, you can save my family, you can save my mom. I am also trying to reach out to as many celebrities who are interested in helping people like me by making videos about the family that needs help in Gaza, like me. So I will mention them in the comment and please go to them, ask them to share my videos, and to make a video about my campaign and ask them to share my link. This is so urgent, I need your help guys because my account is prevented from receiving and sending messages so I can't reach out with them. I will mention them so please help me, and help my family.
I can't bear seeing my mom struggling with death because she has a dangerous disease which is Lupus and she is a kidney failure patient and I can't bear seeing my older sister suffering from hunger. So please guys, you can do it and please make #HelpHayasFamily. Share this video, whatever you can do can help. You can share the link as widely as possible, you can share the video. End of transcript.]
you can donate to her campaign here!

Maternity kits, medical threads and scissors, water testing kits, anesthetics, mobile desalination units, etc do you see the pattern? Israel is not only starving the people of Gaza but it also wants to ensure the spread of disease through contaminated water and surgical tools, as well as ensuring injured Palestinians suffer through horrendous pain.
It's beyond sickening.

I’m so emotional about dinosaur stuffed animals,,, there are these creatures, extinct long before any of us were alive, but we found their bones and their eggs and their footprints. And we made drawings and models of what they could’ve looked like. And we made them into stuffed animals so we could hold them. We made them soft so we could love them. I’m sobbing

all goofing aside I genuinely don't understand the urge to reimagine Taylor Allison Swift as a secretly queer icon when the pop music scene(TM) is like. literally overflowing with women who actually like women. Gaga and Kesha and Miley and Halsey are right there. Rina Sawayama and Hayley Kiyoko and Rebecca Black and Kehlani and Victoria Monét and Miya Folick if you're willing to get slightly less top 100. Janelle and Demi for them nonbinary takes on liking girls. like what are we doing here. like I'm not even saying you can't enjoy Taylor but why would you hang all your little gay hopes on her.

somehow the poor cops who we were told are simply too understaffed and underpaid because of Woke to deal with 'rampant rising crime' have found the strength to beat the shit out of college students across the whole country for peacefully saying "divest from the country killing innocent palestinians in the tens of thousands"

So I just saw a post by a random personal blog that said “don’t follow me if we never even had a conversation before” and?????? Not to be rude but literally what the fuck??????????
I’ve had people (non-pornbots) try to strike conversation out of nowhere in my DMs recently, and now I’m wondering if they were doing that because they wanted to follow me and thought they needed to interact first. I feel compelled to say, just in case, that it’s totally okay to follow this blog (or my side blog, for that matter) even if we’ve never talked before.
Also, I’m legit confused. Is this how follow culture works right now? It was worded like it’s common sense but is that really a thing?

Fun History Fact: The overwhelming majority of cowboys in the U.S. were Indigenous, Black, and/or Mexican persons. The omnipresent white cowboy is a Hollywood studio concoction meant to uphold the mythology of white masculinity.

It occurs to me that a lot of people don’t speak too vocally against the Israeli occupation because there’s quite a number and quite a diversity of ideological positions they very much want to distance themselves from. There are some overlaps around the edges but in my view they can be boiled down to four basic groups:
1. Unreconstructed Stalinists — These are the vulgar anti-imperialists. The ones for whom opposition to the US is the beginning and end of their ideological commitments. The ones who will openly defend even the most grotesque and blood-soaked dictators and terrorists, so long as the US is their enemy. The defenders of Assad, Saddam, Milosevic, the Kim family, Black September, Shining Path, the Japanese Red Army. These people are still fighting the Cold War. And they’re the kind of people who view the world in terms of nations and collective ethnic responsibility, where mass murder or expulsion of entire populations is just a policy choice that is sometimes appropriate to “resolve” a conflict. So for them things like the massacre of the whites after Haitian independence, the flight of the pied-noirs from Algeria, the ethnic cleansing of the Chechens in the Soviet Union, Iraq massacring the Kurds, etc. are all reasonable and justifiable processes. Perhaps “historically progressive” or whatever.
2. Ideological antisemites — This group consists of people who view “the Jews” as a single collective entity and specifically as the collective enemy. Obviously neo-Nazis/white nationalists are the prototype here, but black nationalists as in the Nation of Islam or other fringe groups are also typical of this faction. While these types may occasionally latch onto mainstream opposition to Israel, it’s nearly always extremely clear that what they hate about Israel is just that it’s full of Jews, and they often can’t even put on a convincing performance of caring at all about Palestine. This grouping has very porous boundaries because it’s often unclear the extent to which the much broader ideologically-incoherent right-wing conspiracist/anti-“globalist” milieu is aware of their proximity to antisemitism.
3. Salafists & jihadists — This needs fairly little explanation. Opposition to Israel is more or less constitutive of modern Islamic identity, even outside the Arab world. One of the main grievances of Al-Qaeda in its war against the US was that the US supports Israel. When hearing from Islamist groups, Israel’s physical control of the al-Aqsa Mosque is usually listed as one of the top 3, if not the #1 grievance they cite. It’s seen as equally important as the entire occupation of the West Bank and the apartheid conditions this imposes on millions of Palestinians there.
4. Identitarian “decolonizers” — These are the people whose sole ideological bearing is incoherent 2010s Social Justice-style moral anti-universalism. The world is divided up by race into oppressors and oppressed and there are no such things as rights or ethics. Whatever harms members of the oppressor caste is good; whatever prevents harm to members of the oppressor caste is bad. These are the incoherent “Land Back” types who don’t really have any vision of how decolonization happens but who definitely support it by any means necessary. They are typified by that dumbass on Twitter who said right after Oct. 7 that if members of a hypothetical Native American terrorist group blew up the apartment building he lives in in New York, that would be justified and he couldn’t complain. “Settlers” (a vague status that is nevertheless passed down genetically and permanently, such that it still applies to distant descendants centuries later) have no right to live on “indigenous land”—whatever that means—and can be treated as active enemy combatants at all times. They share with the Stalinists a belief that there can be good ethnic cleansings and good mass killings.
These groups are extremely distasteful to the vast majority of people—of any political persuasion— and most of them are not only distasteful but actually evil and enemies that nearly everyone else rightly opposes. Obviously they’re not all equally dangerous nor equally powerful nor equally numerous. I never implied they are. I’m just creating a taxonomy.
At any rate, the existence of these factions understandably creates difficulties and awkwardness for people who don’t suck. Much of the political spectrum, from conservatives to centrists to liberals to leftists (particularly outside the US), can see that Israel is in the wrong and needs to be stopped. But a lot of people feel the need to temper their criticism, and not speak too full-throatedly against Israel, because they don’t want to be seen as being associated with these four groups of grotesque monsters in any way. And because they don’t want to inadvertently help these four groups by giving them a win.
So there’s an extremely tight needle to thread: how to advance the cause of justice without also advancing the cause of evil, exemplified by these four groups.
I don’t let it temper my criticisms. Israel is a theocratic apartheid state currently committing mass murder through forced famine and unprecedented saturation bombing. They have to be stopped.
But I understand why people are uncomfortable having to be around a lot of the people in pro-Palestinian activism.
