Much like how Libbers full name is Liberty Gordon,

If her and cliff did name Jay I think she’d name him Jason Gordon. but like her, everyone would call him Jay for short.

I’m actually surprised No one ever calls him Jason once in the whole series.

But I think because of his DR season 2 scene his first name might just be Jay.

Or maybe he just doesn’t like going by Jason much like libber who doesn’t like going by Liberty.

Like he has no memory of his past life, but he lost his memory slowly and like imagine he wrote letters for the ninja but they never got sent bc he LOST HIS MEMORY. And then he goes to read them and is like “haha, I wonder what I was on to write THAT”

And also he doesn’t use his power bc he’s prolly have to write a ton of paper work about it, and also bc it’s not normal and the administration is so normal to the point nothing about it at all is normal.

You should really watch ducktales 2017. Good stuff. Animated show where color coded children go on adventures with old man. It's your genre. You'd like it.

You know, the interesting part of Jay's character is the amount of talents and hobbies that the guy shows to have throughout the show and that because he is so focused on his pessimism, he does not realize that he has them and only ends up sinking in his own insecurity and self-sabotage. Like, canonically Jay is good at carpentry (since he supposedly builds bird houses), inventing, cooking, writing poetry, dancing, skating, painting, and depending or not on whether or not he already knew how to do this before s12, he also knows how to play the electric guitar. And there's no need to mention fighting and the fact that he managed to make a tv show.

Jay's biggest problem is that his faith investement skills are shit. So he himself doesn't take all of these things into account and seeks to lie even when he easily has the largest skill catalog on the team and has the energy to be good at so different things.
